having a bootloop problem after changing the cpu settings on franco's kernel updater, set min freq to 500mhz and max 2 cores, set cpu otions on boot, now when i reboot it gets to the lockscreen after booting, freezes and restarts, i've tried everything i can think of, wiped everything, installed my original rom package (leedroid one xtreme 6.4.0) but still having the same problem, if i manage to hit the unlock ring just before it freezes, i get nothing but a white screen with green htc logo, help?

Hello All,
I fear I may have bricked my phone.
After installing the G2-Fast Kernel, my phone constantly resets itself to the HTC logo screen, goes black as if to load the OS, then resets itself again.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to boot into recovery? I can't seem to find any info on how to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Nevermind. I just installed Baconbits and I got my phone back up and running again.

Macarony,
No Sense ROM. I was just running a the stock ROM and I had it OC'd to 1.4ghz, but I decided I wanted to give the 1.9ghz a shot, but it just made my phone power cycle incessantly.
I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to all this flashing/modding/rooting/romming, so I wasn't 100% as to what I was doing
Do you have any suggestions in terms of which custom ROMs I might want to install?
Hello. I have a problem with flashing roms. First of all, i do everything like it should be done. I know because i have android for 2 years now.
The problem is. Every time i flash a OC kernel "sense" rom, my device cant bootup. At first, it just get stuck at the htc logo. Then if i try to start up again, i get to the set up. And it just get stuck again. Sometimes i am even fast enough to skip setup and try to lower the cpu clock. I even get there but it just freeze again. Min-two max! Now, i am currently running Cm7 and on 768mhz(806 freeze sometimes). Working great. But its just not as "good" as htc made sense is. Ive tried every rom there is, and...yeah...you get the point...
I contacked a few of ppl that made those roms, but they all say "i cant help you" at the end of conversation...
I think there are few other people with the same issue. So, you will not be just helping me.
Sorry if i made some grramar mistakes i am not British...
Htc wfs EU s-ON. Unlocked bootloader.
Thanks for your help! Cheers

You could try flash a sense rom, followed by a stock kernel before booting. This should be stable but it means that you will loose support for the additional features they add. I think m1nd******* has a patch for his rom that makes it only clock to stock speed, could be worth trying
Thanks

Ok, i did that. Its working. Now, i saw i can oc manually after this. Do i have to disable no-frills first? Now is 120-600 smass2.
And, thanks, its working. But only this rom... This is sad. And if devs put their rom to startup with 600, will it mean that i can boot it? Then its really bad for me they put 806 as stock, im guessing im not the only one with this problem. Just put 600 as stock, after you can set cpu as u like/need... Just a though...
Hi all..
I recently got my HTC One X and unlocked the bootloader, installed Clockwordmod followed by flashing a couple of different ones to see which one I liked.. (All of them are snappy, feel & look great...)
Where the problem lies is when I try to play a game or watch a video (aka accessing the gpu) the system instantly freezes and then reboots..
This problem never occurred using the stock software only became apparent when I started using customs.
It happens with all games I've tried...
Problem is now what shall i do? I made the foolish error of not backing up my stock ICS.
My phone is unbranded, so perhaps I could use someone elses unbranded stock rom to revert back to?
Shall I unroot? Pretty bloody worried to be honest... what if i've broke it?
Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks in advance

Hey thanks for replying so fast.
I was just looking for what you suggested and cannot find it anywhere in the development section nor in the "everything htc one x" thread...
Am I being blind?
Also, do I just flash it like a normal room? (e.g. put it on my internal memory and flash through recovery?)
Thanks again

I'm sorry Adam but that link requires me to have 10 posts or more. It must be in a special section then?
I'm going to try and be helpful for a few posts instead of being lazy!

Thanks.. just realised this is the rom I am running on now and the problem is still persistent.
Just games and videos it seems.
I am not sure about superwipe..
I always wipe data & cache when I installed a new rom... different thing?
What do you think now?

Superwipe wipes the system as well, going between different ROMs without doing this may be the cause of your issues. Back up and try it out

Cool thanks, going to try it.
EDIT: haha, where the hell is superwipe?
Seems I can only find it for sensation?

Adam, thank you for helping this far.
I have completed a superwipe along with clearing cache and wiping data, reinstalling stock rom and no luck. the problem still occurs... open up a game and it instantly freezes and reboots itself.
Argh, my stomach feels rough...
What do you think i should do now?
edit: just a quick update, have tried various roms and the problem occurs in all. superwiped everytime as well. i think its a problem with the gpu...
in the mean time if anyone else could chime in with any ideas/help would be v.grateful..
otherwise should i send phone back?

If you send the phone for repairs HTC will claim the mainboard needs changing and try to charge you several hundred for it because your bootloader is unlocked.
Try going to settings>developer options and toggling force GPU rendering

Have tried this too, no luck.
Any other ideas? The phone works perfect apart from this...
It's a new contract phone and comes with a 30 day fault return, couldn't I unroot it and give that a go? Would they know?.
Bump for this one last time before I try and get it replaced.
Any thing else I can do?
Running TWRP, restoring back to FreeGS3, which worked the other day but now it appears that the restore process is stuck. It's been stuck in the same spot for close to 10 minutes. Not sure what to do. Advice please!!
TWRP version 2.2.1.1.
Its okay to pull battery and just make sure you go straight to recovery. I've done it multiple times on all different phones. Vol up and physical home button and power

Is it? Lol...stupid NOOB I am...I get paranoid. Lol...thanks for clearing that up. Still have a lot to learn.
Ok...still stuck. It moved but it appears to be stuck at the same spot it was stuck before so I will try to remove battery and boot into recovery.
Thanks guys...scared the crap out of me. Restored AOKP...and it's running fine. Thank you all for your help.
Hi everyone,
I seem to be having a problem with my One X, for the past hour the phone has been rebooting at random moments and its really p*issing me off!!
Its running stock ICS and all of the apps are installed from the play store so i don't think i have anything on it which is messing with it.
Is there anything i can do to stop this or do i need to wait for the Jellybean update and hope it will fix it?
I also heard that it might have something to do with my HBOOT which is 1.12 and i am waiting for 3 to update it!
Try to do a factory reset from bootloader first back up all ur data as factor reset vll erase everything
If the prob still exist take it to nearest HTC care centre
If I hve helped you press the thanks button ...

Hey guyz,
i had the same problem, i only unlocked the phone and flashed a rooted boot.img.
After that i had that issue with every musicplayer except if i plug my headphones in it.
I think most of u rooted the phone..
I fixed it by flashing the boot.img again, but this time i used it from coredroidroms
