Recently, I guess as everyone updated up to latest Android version 4.2
After upgrade to Android 4.2 (takju, clean install Takju, clean install Yakju), the following bug appeared in Google Movie Studio, preventing you from previewing project in timeline before export.
So how I've reproduced this bug:
Just capture video sample size in 1080p or 720p, doesn't really matter, or import already captured one in Google Movie Studio timeline.
Now try to play movie in timeline repeatedly at different timeline places. Additionally, intro transition might be applied, and after several successful previewing, next playback results in the following bug with upcoming message:
'Can't show project preview because of an error' or just closes project and returns to project list.
Please attached screenshot.
Any one can reproduced the following bug.
I regard this bug as serious one due to all applied titles and transitions can't be previewed prior to rendering.
P.S. This issue never happened on previous builds 4.0.x or 4.1.x.

There's a thread over in the Note section about poor black rendering in some videos. Could someone try out the sample on the Nexus and see if that too shows the same artifacts? The clip is here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?53da859r2gu8b8q,p4zi4js5g42uxu4
Trying to determine if this is specific to the Note, the screen, or possibly poor software/codec rendering...
* Bump *
I havent seen any other discussion about this based on the search terms I've used and some people said that the Nexus also suffers from the same issue.
Can anyone perform some testing ?

Use the stock player (HW acceleration mode)
Set the screen brightness on the player to lowest
View in a dark room to avoid any distraction from reflections, viewing this with ambient light actually makes it less problematic.

I've downloaded video from first post but video player refuses to play it, sorry. But i was able to play above posted .mkv file and yes, picture looks pretty bad in very dark areas. I don't think we can change anything, that's how our SAMOLED works.

Thanks for trying the video above, other SAMOLED devices display it video w/o any issues.. Like the Samsung Wave , Galaxay S1 and Galaxy S2.
What bothers me though is that on some Galaxy Note's with the very same settings and scenario above it has far lesser issues.
Im actually surprised this is not covered on the Galaxy Nexus sub forums, maybe no one watches HD movies on a 4.65" screen ?
More feedback from users would be nice so samsung can take a look at this issue.
I have seen this on several videos. I thought it was because of codec but realized did not happen on any other device i had.

Android 4.0 does not have native .mkv support like TW devices. It has the ability to hardware decode because the OMAP4460 chipset can decode it but after the update to 4.0.2 divx support was removed for some reason.
4.0.2 changelog:
Device features
Optimized Mobile Hotspot when used with VPN.
Optimized 3G/4G data sessions for faster response times.
Fixed an incorrect notification that “data was disconnected due to roaming”.
Wi-Fi now automatically reconnects when returning to a known Access Point.
Improvements to special visual effects feature when using front-facing camcorder.
Visual improvements to the lock screen.
Email & messaging
Fixed an issue where some email attachments would not open correctly.
Apps & Widgets
DivX support has been removed, and will be supported in a future upgrade.
Improved audio volume in Google navigation turn-by-turn directions.
Try it with mVideo or Dice player, it should work.
Any of the many good video players should work.
MX Video Player even has dual-core support...
I've definitely noticed this about the Nexus screen. I don't know if it's as bad as the Note or not, but I started a couple of huge threads on android forums (some reference the Note thread, so there may be a circular reference thing going on ):
http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...ing-effect-nexus-other-hd-amoled-screens.html
http://androidforums.com/verizon-ga...ifacts-black-areas-during-video-playback.html
I would love to know if there are any workarounds or if supercurio will be able to help the Nexus owners similar to what he's doing for the Note.
One of the most popular features introduced Monday with Android 4.2 was a revamped camera/gallery app (that we got a peek at early). The camera introduces a new focus/settings UI (popping up with an "options ring" only when you need it), a refreshed gallery interface, and of course – Photo Sphere.
Photo Sphere, for those who missed it, allows users to capture 360° images of their surroundings a la Google Maps, using XML data in concert with an enormous JPG file to help you save an immersive photo experience of where you've been.
The interface, which is activated from the camera app, is an ethereal grid plane that will guide you with helpful blue dots to each frame needed for a full sphere. Besides viewing your spherical creations on your handset, you can upload the images to Google+ for a web-based 360 experience.
As I mentioned earlier, the downloadable camera/gallery app also comes with editing options. Many of these are options we saw debuted in Ice Cream Sandwich, but it's still worth taking a quick look.
Users can add general filters, frames, and contrast effects, in addition to custom cropping, rotating, mirroring, and a handful of other handy editing features.
The build also includes a slightly refreshed Gallery. It has the same launcher icon and overall functionality like swiping from the camera app to a "filmstrip view," but the UI is slightly updated from its 4.0 and 4.1 counterparts.
To get the new camera/gallery on your device, you'll first of all need to be rooted. Assuming your device is already rooted, you'll just need to download the zip below and flash as normal.
Note: Original credit goes to XDA and AndroidCentral Forums but the download below contains a camera/gallery build that we patched to allow users of non-Nexus devices to capture and view Photo Spheres.

Hi
I am having issues on all CM based ROMs
I have a Canadian Variant of this phone
My camera recording is not working correctly.
Recorded video looks interlaced. Like lines of pixels don't line up when things move if played back on the phone or on VLC player. On Windows media player video playback is choppy like frames are missing.
When sent through any sharing program (Watsapp, Facebook etc) recipient only sees black screen with sound.
When i upload video to Google back up or YouTube video playback is normal but quality seams diminished.
On TW based ROMs i don't have this issue.
Reading through the forums i found other people complaining about this but have failed to find a solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Its been bug that has been there for over a year, so dont get your hopes up.
Which roms have you tried that worked? Neither of the ones I have tested works.
Recently, my phone has been loading image thumbnails, especially for RAW images when sharing photos on other apps like Telegram,... Even in Photos, I have experienced this slowness. I am sure an update has caused this as my friend also complained about the issue just recently.
Anybody, got any idea what this might be?
P. S. Video playback is smooth as normal. Just the thumbnails loading slowly. There is a screenshot of Telegram image sharing attached to this post.
i have this problem too untill now
Anyone else having problems on Android P Beta with taking video in the Google Camera app and it playing in Google Photos with a white haze? The thumbnail shows up with normal color in Google Photos but then when you play the video, it switches to a white haze. Here is a video that is doing this. https://photos.app.goo.gl/gUumk0xMITMZhk9c2
not really noticing anything wrong with the posted video.
It is only happening to videos I took after the upgrade to Android P.
Can't see anything on the video, no idea what your describing
Never mind. It's only happening at my work. Must be the filter doing something weird.
I had that issue until a Google Photos update a day after installing the beta. It's just when playing it back in the Photos app

I can say that every video since Android p puts a white tint layer on my video playback. Thumbnail is fine and also shows normal right before you play the video
I have it as well unfortunately. Every video I play w/ the Google Photo app adds the white haze at this time. Probably just have to use another video player until the update for photos is pushed out or side load the latest version.
