Anyone else having problems on Android P Beta with taking video in the Google Camera app and it playing in Google Photos with a white haze? The thumbnail shows up with normal color in Google Photos but then when you play the video, it switches to a white haze. Here is a video that is doing this. https://photos.app.goo.gl/gUumk0xMITMZhk9c2
not really noticing anything wrong with the posted video.
It is only happening to videos I took after the upgrade to Android P.
Can't see anything on the video, no idea what your describing
Never mind. It's only happening at my work. Must be the filter doing something weird.
I had that issue until a Google Photos update a day after installing the beta. It's just when playing it back in the Photos app
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
I can say that every video since Android p puts a white tint layer on my video playback. Thumbnail is fine and also shows normal right before you play the video
I have it as well unfortunately. Every video I play w/ the Google Photo app adds the white haze at this time. Probably just have to use another video player until the update for photos is pushed out or side load the latest version.

Hey everyone
Has anyone noticed or is it just me, the camera app looks perfect on the screen when its on picture.
If I slide it to video it becomes grainy with a lot of noise.
Its a huge difference between the quality of the two.
The noise is visable in the playback of the video.
I was trying to convert my iphone brother to android and he laughed at how much better his video was.
Any ideas or anyone experianced the same?
anyone or is it just me
I've been having a similar issue with my T-Mobile Note II! For some reason while the camera is running, a photo is displayed, or a video is playing, the screen renders everything kinda grainy. I thought it was my imagination, but when I open up a menu, all the icons and options look different too, they don't look smooth anymore, and the color is off. Kind of like a bad jpeg. It's even more noticeable when I use the pop up player, it effects everything I'm doing on the screen until I close the video.
This only happens while content is being displayed, though. When browsing the gallery or scrolling through my video list everything looks fine, until I open something. What's even weirder is this only happens in Samsung's camera, gallery, and video apps. Using any different media app to display content (I tested Camera Zoom FX, MX Player, File Expert, ect.) doesn't cause this at all. It sounds very software specific. I'm not sure if you've tried using a different video player besides the stock app, but try it and see if it looks the same.
I went to T-Mobile and replaced my phone yesterday, thinking it was just me, but the new one is doing it too -_-. You're the first person on any of the forums who seems to have noticed the same thing, lol. I was beginning to think I was going crazy

I've installed CM12 Beta 2 and now youtube app's videos are broken and are in black and white, and the audio is perfect. But the video seems like a Jig Saw ANY HELP WOULD RESULT IN HITTING THE THANKS BUTTON
I've noticed that any 60fps 1080p video or 4K video that I take on my Pixel XL and upload to Google Photos always shows up as plain old 1080p. Has anyone else noticed this?
I've noticed that if I download the same video in Google Drive to my machine, 60fps or 4K remains intact- but not when playing back in the browser (either in Drive or Photos).

When playing back in photos, do you adjust the quality in the bottom right? (Similar to YouTube)
Update: I see now. Even though it's got the quality options in the lower right, the options are limited to Auto are various resolutions from 1080P on down. No 4k or 60fps. Weird.

Yep very weird. I haven't seen anyone else talk about this issue either.
I am guessing that like YouTube that because the screen of the Pixel XL is 2k it doesn't give the option for 4k play back on the phone itself
That's a shame.... It should at least do the 60fps
I just noticed a huge problem with 1080p video from my Mi Max 3 (original rom 6/128). Faces are totally blurred and flattened, huge quality problems. It looks the same in the phone itself then playing back. Why??? I don't want to root it but still have to shoot 1080p30 with image stabilization. Are there alternatives for stock camera app that can do that and don't crap out like that?
This is the link to example video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/e7gSKxykBVtXL5pW9
That is strange, have you tried video elsewhere
All videos from yesterday are like this. I didn't try anything else. It was cold but not too cold. I don't see anything in the settings that could have resulted in this... Why are those blobs there instead of faces? Weird... Older videos seem fine, however there was a recent firmware update...
Photos from the same day at the same time are also like this! But other photos are fine... I'm starting to think it was some kind of condensation on the glass or temperature affecting sensor or something like that, although it wasn't that cold, maybe -8C. Other person shooting on iphone got fine photos and videos. Weird...
Guys im the only one who stuck with 720p videos in YouTube app?
Can't change to higher resolution no matter what kind of video
Solution: force close app.
Open app in unfolded screen. Choose high resolution. Fold it back to small screen Now u can set any resolution u want on small screen
I guess its a glitch.
yes so sometimes it detects only small screen and defaults to 720p. Force close the app and then open youtube on big screen it will show full res options again.
I tried the hard reset and it fixed it for some videos. I could get 1440p for some videos.
However, I went onto a different video without exiting youtube and again it's showing only 720p when my note 9 gives me 1080p for that particular video.
I have a huawei tablet and for that I installed a sideloaded youtube that forces all resolutions, but I don't really want to do that if I dont have to for the fold.
I used youtube vinced and fixed this problem
