File not getting attached in GMAIL - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I compose a new message in GMAIL, use attach from menu and browse (using ASTRO) to a word doc on external SD card. I can see the attachment bar in the message that is supposed to tell me that doc is attached. When I send the email, there's no attachment on the other end.
It works perfectly fine if the attachment is on internal SD card; however, it doesn't get attached from external card. Is it a known bug? Or, is there a problem with ASTRO?

Have you tried another file explorer, like ES?

Es works well.
I've had problems with FX file manger though.

ES works well. Got rid of ASTRO - money waste. Thanks.

Move pictures from internal to sd card?

How would I do that?

U can conect your phone to a computer with a usb cable and do so or use a file explorer to move ur files...

Or you can use a file manager on your phone
Edit: woops mentioned above
I use Astro file manager. Go to MNT/EMMC/DCIM/100MEDIA and your photos should be in there. I would copy the 100MEDIA folder (Longpress/Edit/Copy or move, then move back up to MNT and go to SDCARD/DCIM/ and you can paste them there. Or you can just put them on the root of the card if you want.
Also you can set the camera to store to SD card in the camera settings.
Thank you BrettApple. The first couple pics i took (my grandparents and a party and such) were saved to internal because i didnt know of the option. Thank you guys!

How do I get a file manager to read external SD card?

Hi, sorry if this a noob-ish type question. But I just installed an external 8GB microSD card on my GSIII and can't figure out how to get a file manager to read external SD. I'm using ES file manager and that only reads what's in the internal SD. Although it does show up in phone settings under storage.
But I was curious if it was possible to move files between internal and external SD cards from your phone, and run apps from your external SD card, as in apps2sd. Is that possible yet? I am rooted and using primarily CM10 and Aokp jellybean based ROMs.
Sorry, I'm coming from an Evo 4G and so I'm a bit turned around with this new phone. Ha.

In ES File Explorer, go to favorites. It should show /mnt/extsdcard in there.
I use Astro file explorer, but yes you you can cut them from sdcard and paste to ext_sd in the file explorer.

Duh, I feel embarrassed for not even checking under "Favorites". Thank you for responding.

Don't be embarrassed. I think its a really stupid thing in ES to do. I wish they'd change it, though I know where it is now but it took me forever to find... just like you.
Why they do this I have no idea - but it is stupid
Been looking all over to find out how to access external memory on my Asus Transformer Pad. Thanks!
Zarchiver is a pretty good app as well found it a lot easier for me

[Q] sgs3 copying files from pc slowwwww

anyone has the same problem .. when I try to copy large files .. for example a ROM .. Search Google and the problem is with the new MTP protocol
I always download roms to my pc and use a card reader to transfer to my sd card. With that being said I have not had issues transferring directly to or from the phone when I have done so.
Yes MTP is horrible for mass file transfer, honestly I've completely merged to WiFi file explorer pro. 2 megabytes per second upload speed.

WiFi File Explorer PRO also supports internal memory???
No, its not MTP. I can transfer files pretty fast. Check which type of port your plugged into. It could also be your external SD card if its older.

Unable to attach any files to the mail and other social networking via browser

Hi,
I am unable to attach any files to the mail and other social networking via browser. Whenever I am trying to attach any files, page getting refreshed automatically and a small pop up message displays and goes off immediately with the error message "Unable to complete previous operation due to low memory" in default chrome browser. When I gave this mobile for service in Samsung service centre, they told flash memory is corrupted. Is this right? please help.
I get this too. I think I bought a cheap SD card from what people on here are saying, so I bought a class 10 Samsung one for 50bucks on eBay.

But I do not have SD card in my mobile. I am using default 16 GB phone memory only.

I have the same problem. Is it possible that such a powerful phone can have insufficient memory for uploading a 100kb photo? I mean really.
Btw no card in my phone either.

Try es file manager. When it asks to upload select it and choose file then use path way. Works on some sites.

Thanks! I was having this issue with the G+ mobile site in chrome on my GNex running CM10.1. (My company's Google Apps G+ isn't enabled through the app)
I am having this same issue on my Samsung Galaxy s3 . Has anyone found a solution for it? I don't necessarily want to download an app to fix it. So frustrating!
Opera presto solves it too
Most webkit browsers & file manager combos have this. Not sure if it's root opening too many options / paths. Opera 12.1.9 presto for Lollipop works tho..

How to access ext-sdcard from e's file Explorer

I'm coming from the htc Evo 4g lte, and usually when I would go into ES file Explorer I would see to options, but I don't see that on this device. I don't see sdcard2, or even ext-sdcard. Could someone walk me through this so I can get this to show up on my device through my file Explorer?

I don't use ES anymore, I prefer Solid Explorer. But you should just be able to select Ext SD. Since the file Explorer reads the internal memory as SD. It sees your SD card as External.

I am not able to find an option to disable "turn off bluetooth on exit", can anybody tell me where it is?

The path should be:
Device/Storage/extSdCard
You have to go into the storage folder rather than the sdcard folder.
