[Q] sgs3 copying files from pc slowwwww - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

anyone has the same problem .. when I try to copy large files .. for example a ROM .. Search Google and the problem is with the new MTP protocol

I always download roms to my pc and use a card reader to transfer to my sd card. With that being said I have not had issues transferring directly to or from the phone when I have done so.

Yes MTP is horrible for mass file transfer, honestly I've completely merged to WiFi file explorer pro. 2 megabytes per second upload speed.

WiFi File Explorer PRO also supports internal memory???

No, its not MTP. I can transfer files pretty fast. Check which type of port your plugged into. It could also be your external SD card if its older.

Backing up Photos/Videos on Ubuntu

Hey guys, I know im not the only Ubuntu user out there, currently im running Ubuntu 12.10 Alpha 2 and most of us know that MTP is completely broken on Ubuntu, and im currently being forced to restart into windows 7 to copy my files over MTP. I know there is Airdroid, Solid File Manager FTP which I have used, but it takes forever when I transfer 10 gigs a video and pictures each month, is there a better way to backup all my files while in Ubuntu? I'm thinking I can use ADB pull, but is there any other solutions out there? I'd rather not transfer files over wifi since its slower than a USB connection.
Can you use the cloud?

Yes it is. Just use an OTG cable and an SD card adapter (or thumbdrive)...

Ah yes. Thought you meant mounting the /sdcard partition of the phone as usb mass storage.

suggestion: openssh/openssh frontends, scp/sftp

[Q] file transfer

What method does everyone use to transfer files to and from their PC?
dropbox
Airdroid
I have a question that fits here;
Is there any way to make the s3'S onboard and external SD Read and appear in windows as a flash drive (ftp i think?) Instead of a "media device"?
USB transfer. My computer shows both main and external card.
But now that I have dropbox, it has been my primary means for transfer.
Lol I used to carry a thumb drive everywhere.

SD Card woes.

So now my SD card shows that it has has been ejected improperly and then reconnects everytime I wake my phone up from sleep. Any one know what the deal is or what the fix is? It didn't do it much on complete stock until I changed to jelly bomb and projectROM. I mean it still works but I'm afraid of losing data with how much it disconnects improperly...

Take it out, get a cheap usb reader, copy content to desktop machine, format with desktop machine. Stick back into note II. format in note II. Copy back using MTP.

How to transfer large files from Mac to Note?

Hi, maybe i'm not the first to ask this question, but i have several problems to manage my note 2 with my Mac. I use Airdroid for small files transfer, but if i want to transfer a rom, or any big file, it's just too slow. I tried to use Android File Transfer but it seems to not recognize anything. Is there anybody that can help me?
Thanks and sorry for some mistakes, i'm italian.
Is usb debugging on or off in developer options?
Android file transfer has been working well on my mac.

If I helped you, please hit Thanks..
I also have a mac but haven't had the need to transfer large files over.
Have you tried taking out your micro sd card and transfer files to that?
Sorry I wasn't sure if you were trying to transfer to device memory or just to the phone in general.

Can't transfer files

Every time I connect the LG-E980 to my Windows 7 PC, it starts to install, then lets me open up the internal storage but when I click on the DCIM folder, it starts all over again. I need to download some of my pix and can't get to them. I recently upgraded to a 64GB internal card. I have it on Media Sync (MTP) but it won't let me get into the memory.
I uploaded a couple of them to dropbox and then downloaded them to the PC. Must be an easier way though.
Suggestions?

If nothing else you can email them to yourself. I used to have to do that back before I had a smartphone.
Have you tried downloading and installing the LG drivers for your OGP?
If your computer has bluetooth that would be faster.
Drivers were installed, no Bluetooth.
