good morning everyone
I'm just posting this thread to ask you how to S-off a rooted Wildfire S because I already tried everything to make this happend but nothing happend
I'm on robotomod xena rom and an unlocked hboot, I tried the htcdev thing but it only unlocked the hboot, I tried the gold sd card but it didn't worked, I tried the supertool but all what I got is a blue DOS screen (and my device isn't supported by the revolutionnary tool)
I hope I'll find a solution for this problem cuz all what I did (unlocking and rooting my device) was to S-off my htc, and THANK YOU
1.Find a xtc clip.

There is no other way. If you would've gone to the general section and seen the S-OFF thread, you would have gained more knowledge.

The only solution is the XTC clip. In the general section, there's this S-OFF campaign going on to try and find out a software method for S-OFF. Check out that thread.

You can try to Root the phone with the Visionary APK, but it just gives a half-root, not a full root. Clockwork and AmonRa will not change the Recovery without S-OFF.
Until someone figures out how to set S-ON to S-OFF, we cannot install any ROMs.
I've been reading but just incase I'm missing something I thought I would ask.
Has anyone found a way to unlock the t-mobile us wfs yet without using an xtc clip?
TIA for any replies.

Use theq86's bootloader tool. Search it, its an old thread.
Download the zip, flash in recovery and it will open up an installer. Touch on lock bootloader guarantee node and let it do its thing. Once that's done, reboot.
Hope I helped.

Sorry dude,
It's highly impossible to get locked after unlocking your device...
If you wanna root your mobile without unlocking, better use Simon's utility...

if you haven't actually changed hboot you are still on stock hboot, leave it. (you're just s-off with stock hboot partition layout, i'm wondering whether you understand what the hboots are? try here, recommend reading all the guides there)
s-off allows you to change hboot to use space more efficiently, and modify system partition while it's running. it's also much more useful to be s-off just in case things go wrong i.e. easier to fix.
(if you really want to go back s-on, you'll have to flash RUU, look at bortak's guide stickied to the top of Q&A, but i don't recommend it, not much point...)
No its just that I read somewhere that S-OFF can be dangerous and could brick your phone!!

Don't worry too much about it, you probably read someone who didn't follow instructions.
The actual s-off procedure can be dangerous, but most likely to happen during the process itself
You are already successfully s-off so relax!

I don't know what guides you followed but get used to reading the stickies that is where the useful information is located:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168500
If you already unlocked the bootloader, then just flash a custom recovery and then Superuser.
Rooted now. How can I s-off ontop of root.

What about reading the whole post I linked you?...
...As you can notice root access is easy to be gained but not S-OFF. If you are skilled in android and working with terminal or cmd commands, then you can use this: http://tau.shadowchild.nl/attn1/?p=411...

That is the only way to gain S-OFF right now. Why you need S-OFF btw?
No reason really, fastbooting the .img I'm simple. But s-off makes it a little easier

One thing I've noticed is that ky recovery does NOT restore backups. Md5 mismatch. Would this be a ad card problem or recovery its self. Tried flashing 4ext but needed s-off
