[Q] Xperia arc s cannot boot?! - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a big problem. I had installed 4.04 latest ICS. The I rooted the phone and installed cwm via x-parts from google play. Then I booted to cwm recowery from x-parts. Then I wiped all data and formated System!! I flashed new rom whic was only update not whole rom. I rebooted the phone and now I cannot get into cwm recovery and there is no system! What can I do???
Thank you!

Reflash the stock ROM, and don't wipe data if you install CWM through X Parts.

Hello there, I got the same problem, I have rooted it, and installed remix ice and jelly bean v3. After rebooting it stocked on Sony logo, now I can do anything more, It turn on it selfs, I cant shut down. The pc doesnt recognize it so cant flash other one which works...
Is there any other solution please help

As above, I can only assume that the ROM you installed didn't come pre installed with cwm.
Plenty out there that do....jj's hybrid is nice.

Use SEUS to flash stock firmware if you did not unlock bootloader, or flash stock firmware .ftf file with flashtool.

[Q] cm-7.1.0.1-Xperia Arc-LT15i vibrate not work?

hi!
After installing update-cm-7.1.0.1-Xperia Arc-LT15i I have a problem that vibrate Broken Is there any solution?
Yeah, wait for the update with the fix in it
First backup ur current rom..then flash with .368 den insatl cm 7,it s worked for me..
Sent from my LT15i using Tapatalk
So it means to boot into CWM recovery, wipe all datas, boot and dalvik cache,
power down the phone, use flashtool to flash the .368 ftf file?
after that use flashboot to flash the img file of cwm again?
then go into recovery, wipe all datas, boot and dalvik cache, install cm7 zip from sd card? reboot then go into recovery again to install gapps zip then reboot?
Did I miss anything here?
Yes..then u wil get back vibration..

I tried flashtool on my PC to flash the stock SE .368 rom...it keeps aborting...And because it aborted, the phone can't be switched on...
So I try to flash the .ftf file on another PC, and strangely enough, it flashed without problem...I was able to revert back to .368 rom after that, flashboot the CWM boot.img, rebooted into CWM recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe battery, wipe dalvik...
Installed the CM7.1 rom and GAPPS thereafter...it booted into CM7.1.
Question is...why is it my PC keeps aborting the flashing of the .ftf file?
I am using windows 7 home 64bit.
The other PC that flashed without problem is a windows 7 home 32bit.
If my experience can help people here...thanks.

CWM Disappears after installing any new rom.

CWM is no more there after installing a new rom and new rom won't load. Then i have to flash the stock rom again > root it > install CWM. Again when i install any rom it would install normally but nothing gives a blank screen after reboot and the stock rom is not even there.
The situation is occurring with the following;
Phone: Sony Xperia ARC S (LT18i)
Bootloader: unlocked
Android version 2.3.4 (Build 4.0.2.A.42) -
I have made multiple attempts on installing new roms but nothing works. Every time i reboot after installation im left with a blank screen. Can anyone advise what the problem could be ?
Thanks
Did u flash the kernel for the ROM u flashed ? The ROM will not boot without its kernel.

you must be installing CWM into the system through one touch command prompt program.. as such as soon as the ROM changes and you wipe out data and cache, CWM disappears..try flashing a custom recovery kernel which are available even for stock roms.
Also follow these steps for a custom ROM (eg CM9):
download the ROM, extracted it into a folder, copy the boot.img where you can remember, then copy the original cm9 ZIP - not the extracted folder- into the root of SD..use fastboot mode of flashtools to flash the kernel boot.img which you had copied..its a recovery kernel so CWM should open..wipe out SD data..then cache..and then go into advanced option and clear dalvik..and then proceed to install zip from sd..then gapps.zip if u want..it should install fine..and then reboot.
Press Thanks if you think i was of help to you..:good:

Got it - Yes i was installing CWM within stock rom via market. though i tried to install it through adb/windows but still i guess the problem was all about not installing a custom recovery kernel.
Thanks a lot !

You must flash stock firmware again. You can do it with PC companion or flashing ftf with flashtool. Boot it normally, then root it, and install CWM again.

Bakisha is correct.
But if you flash a kernel that have a CWM support (doom kernel - volume up / Lupus kernel v7 is the search button) then you don't need to re-install the ftf anymore.
You can just manually turn off the phone by removing the battery then boot the phone and use the specific button command to access the recovery mode.
If you still can open cwm, you could mount you sd card and copy the Rom again... You could install it again...

yes flashing a rom for the one xl is the same as flashing a rom which is intended for a samsung or sony phone, it's a completely different phone so won't work!
firstly you need a different recovery, get philz touch recovery and flash it, that will solve the touchscreen problem.
Now do a full wipe from recovery, data, system, cache and sdcard.
load another rom onto sdcard.
flash the boot.img from the rom and then do the command "fastboot erase cache". This is very important and may possibly be why magio wouldn't boot
now flash the rom and enjoy.

Now your device restored 4.1.1 rom ? If so flash Philz_Touch recovery then install the OTA.zip via recovery, after that flash boot.img from OTA, then fastboot erase cache > reboot.
