Facebook and Wikipedia making loud noises when something gets highlighted? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

So recently everytime I get the annoying orange highlight bar around text on these apps, there's a loud beeping noise. I don't know how to disable it and it does it even in silent mode. Also it disrupts and cuts off music playback. Sometimes it'll do it on the browser as well. Anybody know what it is?

Speaker pop on first sound every few seconds.. Anyone else?

So its not really a huge issue but I would appreciate it if its fixed, so I am checking if anyone else is experiencing this.
There is a pop sound that is pretty clear (higher than the keyboard tap sound) everytime I do anything that will produce voice, like for example typing on the keyboard.
It pops up and everything is sounding good and then when I don't do anything that has to do with sound for about 5 seconds another pop sounds happen but is lower.. And then, first key tap brings up the pop sound again.
Its more like the speaker is activated so it pops in and then deactivated when not used so it pops out.. Like when you plug headphones to the computer for example, it is that sound.
It became annoying after a while so I had to disable the keyboard tap sound at least not to get that everytime I start writing something and especially annoying in chats where you get to pause between writing so you get to have the pop every other line.
If anyone is experiencing this, please cool my heart off cause that might mean its a software thing.
Thank you

Notifications while listening to music.

I've had a few android phones for work but finally bought an s3 as my personal phone getting rid of my iPhone 4. I love it except for when I'm listening to music I hate that it totally blocks out the song to play the notification, sometimes I don't even hear the notification just hear my phone vibrate but my music doesn't even stop it keeps playing but is silent. Is there any kind of work around this?

if you're on Jellybean use blocking mode and turn off notifications.
If you're on ICS, you can put the phone in silent mode but that turns off the ringer too.
Ahhh didn't think about using that for that. I don't mind getting the notification just don't want it to completely silent my music.

Click to collapse
Elaborate on using blocking mode.... where do you enable/disable it?
settings/blocking mode
you can disable incoming calls
notifications
alarms
and the LED indicator. I have mine set to turn off led and notifications between 11 PM and 7 AM.

Is there a software glitch for volume?

It seems like a random hit and miss glitch. For instance, if I'm watching a video on YouTube while my phones volume is on silent, I can't raise any sort of volume. Not the phones, not the media. So I have to press the settings button, manually slide the phone volume and then media volume raises. This is a big issue for me because I want my phone on silent while I watch videos.
My old HTC One S never had this problem. Is this exclusive to Samsung? Cause I noticed the S3 also did it when I had it.

Janky call volume

When in a call, especially with some background noise, irregular call volume. Sometimes very low or absent, then suddenly very loud. Volume keys don't smoothly regulate. One click can make call volume. very loud. No, hearing aid setting is off. Anyone else notice this?

I do...but was gonna blame it on my Bose Bluetooth.

I have noticed that on every phone I've ever used. Landline, cell phone, it didn't matter. At work, our office phones are hit and miss with every call we take, even from the same people using the same phone. It's a connection issue, not a phone issue.
Fixed by increasing volume while on call to max, then min. Phone reset. Now, perfect. This was very likely software problem with noise canceling microphone.

Audio Bug

I've discovered a pretty big audio bug. Certain apps will keep playing loud audio even when system volume is muted. A couple of days ago I accidents hit play while downloading an album at work from Amazon music. It started playing loudly. I quickly muted the volume (yes, system not ringer) but the song kept playing. Today I pulled up Sentinel 4 and it was blasting. Again I quickly adjusted the volume down but it didn't lower it or mute it.
Has anyone else experienced this?

AFAIK the system volume slider only controls system things.. notifications and such.. use the media slider to control music..
This behavior is also consistent on my note4..

I had the media slider muted too. I chatted with Samsung support and they had me do a soft reset which resolved the issue. They couldn't say what caused it though. It was like Windows support telling me to reboot.

Weird. . But glad you got it resolved.. I wonder if the problem will come back. Perhaps it could be related to an app you have installed..
Or maybe just those pesky gremlins

Similar issue here. Sometimes when I use the hard volume buttons the software slider doesn't respond. Reboot usually resolves this but lately I'm finding myself rebooting alot. Hopefully they will push an update soon.
