Hey,
Ive got my note 2 over a bit more then a week and didnt noticed the bug untill i changed my homescreen background and lockscreen as well. since the samsung backgrounds that comes with the handset are bright pictures you ll never notice this.
I mostly set for both home and lockscreen the same picture.
For the example i used a plain black wallpaper.
What you see is with lockscreen and after with lockscreen unlocked.
when you see the pics you ll understand and since ith not on the home screen i wonder is this a known (software)bug since i cant explain it otherwise.

Dont mind the background lightness its cuz off the amount off light taken in to my lens. this picture r taken with full brightness , tried it with lowest brightness too but bug stays.
To the mods sorry if there's already a topic on this , then just delete it , or if its not in the appropiate forum.
Can someone try it to see if its just me or ....
I can't see the pics but I'm guessing you're referring to the strange light patches on the left of the lock screen if using a dark/Black background?
I have the same issue(running a pure Black background for lock screen and wallpaper)
Is certainly not a hardware fault which I was initially concerned about as the patches don't show on a blank homepage. .. must be a software bug with the lock screen

it noticeable on all background but very hardly on light background , but its there , but as you say is its alot all over the leftside and with my phone its extremely
Yeah sorry it's just more noticeable on dark backgrounds. ..
Is very strange and quite annoying, so much so that I changed my lock screen to something lighter and patterned to hide it

Edit: can see your pics now and mine is the same although not quite as pronounced as yours. ..

Seems like in screenlock mode the handset is boosting the brightness evenmore then at 100% ... hopefully they will be fixing this
Disable the ripple effect, it sometimes makes the wallpaper look wonky.

This is Red Ivory. A Theme I came up with a while ago. A consent work in progress. For the most part everything native to the rom is themed. I havnt started on widgets yet but everything else is pretty much done. This is for AOKP Roms only. I have no intentions of supporting other roms at this time. I just dont have the time for it. sorry..
Credit to the AOKP team and all there hard work for one sick ass ROM!
thanks to Locomain for his awsome mod found here ive incorporated it in to my theme. looks really nice.
I try to keep the Milistones and whatever the latest release is up to day. Any issues or problems. please let me know.

Yes. Each shade of red was based on visibility. The main red hex700000 is to dark for some areas and difficult to see.

This theme is awesome!!!
Congratulations Zathus!
Can anybody port this theme for Galaxy S2?
S2 I have, and I love this theme!
Please!!!!!
yes ! the theme is aweSOME !!!!
However, found some places where the theme did not cover and are a bit annoying not deal breaker though
1) folders background for nova is black and apps name is also in black ( now rely on purely icon haha)
2) the navi key area, whenever the system decides to turn the navigation keys into dots, the original black background comes up. This includes video, gallery viewing and also when receiving a call. Possibly all instances where system change the nav keys to dots , this will happen
apart from that, thanks for giving me a new phone !!!!

Both issues are being fixed for my next release. The dot issue has been the bane of me. I can't figure out a way to make it go black when things like the camera and the phone is docked.

In my country, all the g pad have a same phenomenon.
When the screen brightness is lower than 30% and the virtual softkey bar is white,it is obvious that there are seven lights at the bottom of the screen

Do you have the same phenomenon?
on your country lool?
every single one on the world has it.
along with blue line
only difference is some have lots of it some have littles ones.
, mine does have the blue line of the right. I am not true all of them have it because the other models that I had I returned before noticing it after seeing the seven lights on the bottom. However the device I have right now the seven lite issue on the bottom is almost non-existent even at 0 percent brightness

I have this problem, I was wrong. The reason some people don't have them is because they are invisible in portrait mode, the black background of the soft keys makes them non existed.
In order to see them, you have to hold ur tablet in landscape mode and open a white page, like Google search engine webpage, with low brightness.
This is really a problem for people using landscape mode all the time.

Can something of this type be implemented on our HTC?
I've just moved over from the s7 and it's one of the things I really miss. Just nice having a clock there to see without having to wake device.

It can be done and it has been done in the leedroid rom, whether it's battery efficient is up to you to find out... I'm going to assume not though.
Always on will kill the battery on a LCD screen. Best we can do is ambient display.
It's not the same, but you can always double tap the screen and it will turn on for like 5 seconds showing you your notifications
Ambient display can easily be turned on, and seems to be working.

I'm on unlocked and I'm on stock software rooted and I just add my own mods. I'll share them no problem but I'm still figuring how I want to share. I don't really want to make a rom. I could just share the apks and jars to flash or push, then remove the odex files. Right now I have full apm and ambient display added to framework. I made these apm icons to match stock. I also could just give the edits. Ambient display just needs to be unhide really

I'm using this from google play - seems to work OK, although I've not looked into all the settings yet, the proximity sensor one definately works.

I am really interested in the Ambient mod, anyway I can get it? Thanks
To add to the always on display issue. Lcd displays, if kept on for extended periods of time with a constant image, will burn a image into the liquid crystal. Led displays, well can't they are led dots, if they get hot they just turn off. Lcd displays just can't do that.
I'm using Always on Amoled from Google Play. Looks just like S8's. The clock moves quite often so I hope it doesn't burn display. Only problem is that it kills battery quite badly. But if it's in your pocket or face down it's off. Using it as night clock charger plugged in is fine. Check it out, looks awesome

something new ? work something on HTC 10?
So, I'm here again probably receiving zero answers (is there a more active View 20 group somewhere?) asking about the screen once again. I don't use View 20 as my primary, I'm not used to it and G7 thinQ is somewhat simpler to use as a daily driver. Anyway, to me the text color is really washed up looking, especially when scrolling. I'm talking about Twitter, forums and even articles. It's just really bright and the text is gray rather than black. I've tweaked display color settings but I don't seem to get it right. Maybe I'm just not used to it, I don't know. It just looks like there's way too much spacing in the app and way too much white.
You can see how large the gaps are below.

Maybe you have changed font size in settings?
Or you have set full brightness ?
Maybe you are not used to this screen as it is bigger than your other device screens.

I'm probably not used to it, you're right. I have changed the font size and font completely but it still looks really gray and washed up. The brightness is always very low due to this.

I actually did that yesterday but there was no difference. Do you see a difference compared to your device or is it just that I'm not used to their screens?
Download an app that lets you install new fonts on Huawei phones. A good one I use is Font Manager for Huawei. Choose a better (darker font) and then install in using the phone's Themes app.
I had the same problem as you...I find the preinstalled font grey and washed out and not easy to read. I now use one called Righteous and it's soooo much clearer
I just enabled "eye comfort" mode and saw all the symptoms you are describing. Can you confirm you have it off?
and presumably you have gone into the display settings and changed colour mode/temperature (I have mine set to vivid) to something that suits you?
With me, I think it's simply worsening eyesight because of age. One of the reasons I buy Huawei phones is the ability to change the font to something darker and beefier.

It sounds like you have the blue light filter cranked all the way up.
Go to SETTINGS > DISPLAY > BLUE LIGHT FILTER.
If you don't want to use it at all, turn it off.
If you do want to use it, turn it on then, tap it to bring up the opacity slider & "Turn on now/Turn on as scheduled" options.
its not a blue light filter the yellow thing the center of the screent.

We all have it, but it is only visible when a dark theme is applied. It is no defect at all, just the way the display is built.

I see nothing resembling the OP's display yellowing on my Note 10+5G. I've been using mine as a daily driver for over six months & no kind of uneven coloring whatsoever. (Using dark mode)
At minimum, I'd suggest the OP contact Samsung customer service for troubleshooting, if not offer a replacement, if the phone is still in warranty.

Not normal. It's either an overlay or theme goof up... or hardware.
Could be "burn in" if it was a demo.
Start by testing OLED screen and drivers with Screentest:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...+test&pcampaignid=APPU_1_Adw7X7S2KsnKswWP045I
If it's doing it on Screentest you'll need to send it back. You can try clearing the system cache, vid driver data and a hard reset but I doubt that will help.
Samsung Tech Support over the phone is worthless other than to return a device.
Maybe try jscreenfix ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don't think it's any the playstore anymore, though a quick apk search will do the trick
Yeah mine doesn't have that, had them over a year, use dark theme too.
It looks like burn in, pretty severe.
