Ok, for the drivers rimember that you have to have Windows Update enabled; if Windows Update is enabled try to connect again the phone, if it still doesn't work I think you should wait until Samsung drivers for Windows 8 are released.

My first choice if I want to connect my phone to my PC`s. It is for free, available in more than 40 languages and you can connect your phone via WiFi, Bluetooth or cable. Do not forget to install the MyPhoneExplorer client from Playstore.

I have windows xp on 3 computers and I don't have a problem. Where did you get the drivers from? Do you have any conflicting apps like pdanet? Are you getting the mtp error when installing the driver or plunging your phone in?

WMP 10
I had to upgrade to Windows Media Player 10 for the drivers to install correctly.
SOLUTION
First remove MTP from device manager
Install the Microsoft User Mode Driver Framework for WinXP here.
Connect your phone
Hey everybody.
At first I wanna say that i've flicked through some topics and none of them helped so I decided to get this thread.
I wanted to root my nexus 7, so I used wugu nexus root toolkit. Everything was done, device seems to be rooted etc. But I wanted to connect it to my pc and there's no response. I want the MTP mode back when there was a cute Nexus 7 icon at my computer. Okaay. So then I wanted to connect my Galaxy S running CM 10.1 (usb storage mode) aaaand no response ! The thing is that gt-i9000 is visible in devices

When I connect Nexus 7 it says that Android ADB interface is an older device and cannot be connected to usb 3.0. Alright, so I connected it to usb 2.0 and Nexus 7 shows up at the bottom of the devices in the unassigned devices,
I remember before I rooted the device and installed drivers from the toolkit, in device manager there was a Nexus 7 device instead of now "Android Device - Android ADB Interface". Can you help me get things fixed ? I'm running out of time because I'm leaving my country soon for a long time and I wanted to prepare both of my devices...
Oh and if that helps, I run windows 8 x64 on my laptop. I know some people may say that this is the reason but before i rooted nexus, everything had worked fine.
Thanks in advance !
Try and switch mode to camera instead of mtp device under storage.

whenever I try to install the Samsung drivers I get this, no matter how many times I wipe the drivers from my computer and install them as admin, I keep getting this

Where did you get the drivers? You could try the Samsung website.

I've tried both links from here and directly from samsung's website, same result
I'm stumped as to why it won't work. I have installed them on a XP and Win7 machine without a problem. Are you using Win8?

Nope, Windows 7, I found a guide that says to uninstall the drivers from the device manager as well as programs so I'm going to give that a shot

The Samsung drivers are notoriously difficult to install. Usually it's just a problem of finding the correct driver for your exact phone model. You'd think that would be easy.. but Samsung has a million variants.
The easy solution is to install Kies which will identify and install the correct driver for you. If you subsequently find that Kies interferes with Odin you can simply uninstall Kies, but you'll still have the driver you need in place.
.
Okay, I actually have an older HTC Evo and there is no support on that forum anymore....
So forced to post here, hoping someone can help.
Anyways, I am just trying to re-flash the ROM, and want to put an old SENSE HTC install back on it, but cannot get my Windows 7 computer to recognize the phone. Fails to load the device driver.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Install HTC Sync to your computer. It will download and install the latest drivers to your PC. Also make sure your SDK is up to date. Lastly, make sure you have USB debugging enabled on your phone. If you continue to have problems, you may have an issue with your USB port on your computer or you may need to try a different USB cable.

I installed SYNC manager on my computer as well as the Android SDK pack and installed the Google USB Driver there too.
It's like it sees the phone as a drive, but it's like it doesn't think there is an SD card there (see below). I wonder if somehow the SD card is not "mounted"? I don't know. Any help appreciated. I can see the SD card just fine from the Restore menus on the phone.

but it should appear these folders
what should i do? I've installed and uninstalled the driver several times...
and when i transfer Music folder, it say 'this kind of files could not be able to operate in your device. copy them anyway?'(sorry for my bad english. it was written in korean)
I transfer those files anyway and those file could be able to play in my device. what is the problem?
these error are driving me crazy...
Don't worry about the compatibility error. As long as you have an app that will play the file you will be fine.

Take a look at my post here, it might help. Might try a different usb cable also.
Yeah the cable might be the problem

You have no problem with your cable or drivers. This is a bug known about for a long time - I don't know if it has been addressed in the latest beta release. See: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=38282
