Hi Guys,
In India, the price of HTC One V is Rs.16,499 INR & HTC Desire X is available for Rs.18,299. So, Is Desire X worth the Premium over One V?
Regards.

No! only advantage it has is a duel core processor! It may have more RAM, but it's slower, has a slower GPU Adreno 203 vs HTC One V 205. 233ppi on a 4 inch = Ugly! HTC One V 255ppi = Gorgeous!
One V is better
Thanks for replying guys. Is HTC One V capable of driving full size cans like Audio Technica M35, Sennheiser HD 449?. Also, how would rate the SQ of HOV compared to say an iPod Touch?
dude BEATS AUDIO is far better than these, yes HOV is capable of driving full size can like Audio Technica M35, Sennheiser HD 449
Thanks Gulsher.
Well I am completely Anti-SQ Enhancement guy so I am never going to enable Beats Audio Preset. So far I never turned on EQ of my iPod or Phone as I like balanced sound. Anyways, Is there any HOV onwer in this forum who also owns an iPhone/iPod? Can you please tell me how HOV sounds compared to iPhone/iPod with every sound enhancement turned off.

Some bad news for those using various Beats headphones.
In the 1.26 version there were profiles for a number of Beats headsets including the pros.
In 1.28 they have removed some of these profiles. The only ones remaining are urBeats and Solo.

Make sure you contact HTC support and let them know you are upset.
I have contacted HTC support and awaiting a reply.
Apparently the XE had profiles too? But only for urBeats and Solo. Then they bring out the One X that has extra profiles, and then remove them again in an update....very odd indeed.
UK support have been useless. This was my second attempt at getting some sort of proper response on this from them
"I can confirm the latest software update version 1.28.401.9 has indeed removed the Beats headset profile for the Pro headset. The removal of this profile was intentional from the media player, please accept my apologies for the inconvenience this may cause you."
No indication as to why....it makes no sense! Can others please try logging this if it matters to them
pretty sure this is related to the stuttering problem before

Interesting possibility. They have simplified the code so its like the Sensation XE version. Not happy though....just got to hope they bring back the other options at some point....

This phone just get's worse and worse....
They just need to get rid of that beats crap all together. The One X has some of worst audio quality compared to other high end devices released over the last couple years.

Is all down to opinion mate, if you want good quality music, buy an mp3 player.
Beats for me makes a real difference to the experience.
I would suggest the majority of people are not going to connect their phone to all sorts of audio equipment to test the quality of the audio, like gsm arena.
A smart phone is made to do multiple things,it is not going to be perfect in everything it does.
I'm no audiophile by any means so it's good enough for me. Like I said,it's down to opinions.

Absolutely! The phone is still rather good at being a 'one device for everything', and I don't think my hearing is sensitive enough to notice much apart from volume!
If people really miss them, can the extra profiles not be extracted and cooked into a ROM?
Has anybody sussed out what the problems with those profiles were? (Or is it just a licensing issue?)
If you get a decent pair of headphones the audio is good and works well with audio beats. It is a shame about pro beats as it sounded amazing with my a Jay headphones. Urbeats isn't to bad.
Maybe they did it because they realised how good probeats sounded without even having to use audio beats headphones.

There wern't any problems with the profiles. I think they have retreated to an older code line. The profiles of Solo, urBeats and Other are present apparently on a Sensation XE. The One X was the first to add in extra profiles, but they had problems with stuttering audio in 1.26. I think they cured this by using an old but proven codepath. The question is, are they going to bring the profiles back. As they own 51% in Beats I am sure there isn't any licensing issue.
However, if someone still on 1.26 can pull out the relevant codelines, that could be very useful indeed!

I need your Help please.
I have a Sensory Hearing Defecit, A Hearing Loss. The Audio Ouput of a Device is critical to me, I am 62, and because of some health issues I thrive (survive) off my Smartphone. I also have had Cataract Surgery, and so Display is also of paramount importance as well.
I currently have a Motorola Atrix2, which has been very problematic, basically a piece of Junk, and Im on AT&T. However Audio Output on The A2 is incredible and the Display is beautiful. Crisp and Clean, and excellent Contrast.
I am looking at the HTC One X and the S-3. I need to establish which of these 2 are closest to the Audio Output of the A2.
The Audio Output in "db" from the speakerphone, in call, speakerphone, ect and Media Player. Unfortunately the Retail Stores all have the devices tethered in such a way that it is hard to compare. I went to a AT&T store which happened to have a Note and OneX tehered next to each other, so I tried to compare with my Atrix2. It was difficult if not impossible to judge.
The Display on the OneX next to the Note was like a DreamCatcher, Unbelievably Clean, Crisp and Awesome, but the Audio out put seemed less than my A2, and the Note appeared "Louder"
I am not asking for help to pick a phone, however any guidance would be appreciated. I need to know how the HTC OneX and the Samsung S-3 compare in Audio output to the Motorola Atrix2.
Whenever people get in a jam, Ive been told, go to XDA, they know whats going on, and they have real world solutions that work. I hope someone who has access to the information I need will help. GSM Arena and Phone Arena are one of the Few sites that use db measuring equipment in their reviews, unfortunately my emails to them have gone unanswered.
The review On the OneX and S-3 on XDA was awesome, This site is awesome as well! I tried to email Dan from Mobilsyrup, who did the review, but couldnt come up with a email address. I truly hope someone can help me out.
Thank you- Larry

Having in call voice max is pretty much like its on speaker, other people in the room can hear, I have to have mine on 50%.
Also gsmarena is biased, they say the one x doesn't have gorilla glass and the s3 does when they both have it, I wouldn't trust it at all.

Yeah, since GSMarena becomes a popular phone website they probably sell misinformations to the competition ... but they cant lie about everything
And you are right, mine speaker is also on 50-60%.
Thank you for the response, I have looked everywhere to try to get the Audio Specs on my Atrix2, so I can compare, (to no avail).

I dont know if your familiar with the Atrix2? if So, How does it compare in Audio Output.
Thank you for your help!
Hey i was wondering what's up with the Beats on the HTC one X, is it just marketing or do you get beats Earphones with the one X?
Also does one x have USB on-the-go and a feature like S beam (300mbps)
Beats is just an EQ setting, no headphones this time round.
As for S-Beam it does have WiFi direct which is used by S-Beam anyway just no quick NFC pairing.
s beam claims to transfer at 300mbps, does the wi fi direct on the one x that fast?

Beats adds no value over a 3rd party eq etc. and is otherwise just a marketing have.
The headphones that come with the HTC one X belong in the Bin along with all the other stock headphone that come with any other device.
Think it depenfs on your carrier, I got beats with vodafone ireland.

Whilst I have binned every set of ear/head phones that came with something, I actually don't mind these earphones that came with my HOX from vodafone Australia. Naturally they don't kill good individually bought units but if one doesn't have another set of ear/head phones, someone could save some dollars and use these stock earphones.

I agree - my uk hox came with alright headphones (best stock headphones I've EVER had). I personally think beats sounds alright as well (even though it is just a software ting); , of course, you're an audiophile and can be bothered re-EQing for every single different song you listen to. I've produced and recorded a couple of albums so don't consider myself 'deaf' and but maybe I'm just not that fussed about studio quality sound when I'm on my way to work...
I think it can be taken with a pinch of salt, and everyone will have different hearing thresholds. There's far too many web sites that dive far too in depth into chipsets, and the like and basically rip a phone apart. Unfortunately the average consumer enthusiast like ourselves, will take this information on board and choose a phone based on these supposed facts.
At teh end of the day, if one sounds better to you than the other, go buy it. most stores have a live testing device or a few, so take your headphones and play some tunes on them. Only then can you decide what is best for your ears, not anyone elses.
Let's face it, we've come a long way from carrying a phone and separate mp3 player
Yea i doubt S beam can get to 300mbps but it would still be fast than standard WIFI Direct in other phones
Also GSMarena says that the HTC one X doesn't have Image stabilization Built in, is that true?
Vodafone austria here and mine did come with Beats by Dr. Dre

A friend brought an unlocked One X in the UK just a few weeks after it was launched and he did get the Beats headphones... I think HTC has stopped bundling the special headphone now.
As said beats is just dynamic compression with slight boosts to treble and bass , you can get the same and better with any eq app.

Hi Guys,
I have finally decide to upgrade my old DHD for HTC One X! Just when i was thinking to upgrade HTC have launched a upgraded version of OneX+. I read somewhere the new JB and sense4+ updates to OneX will actually make the mobile as good as the One X+, in terms of speed and performance. So heres my question , is it worth buying One X+ or is the One X with Jb updates enough. (I feel One X+ is a lil pricey!)
P.S. I am happy with the space available on HTC One X.
Would really appreciate any kind of suggestions.
Cheers,
Kavin

Is it a good to go decision to sell my htc one x and go for Sony Xperia Z ?!
what I will be losing is sense ui , beats audio and ips screen .
So help me out please ?! Would highly appreciate the same!

I need to see my pocket so only please anyone just tell me for xperia z . Thank you as you told me that I won't regret buying if I'll go for xperia z from htc one x .
Please let me know more if screen clarity/quality will be really better than one x, in-ear sound will be better or equal to beats audio sound? Camera is really good in normal and low light or not ?! battery performance ?! and anything else ?!
Ok, sound you may prefer htc, cause they are one of the best at sound, the Sony xperia z in-ear is not bad, but the external speaker is way worse than htc, I don't really use the external speaker, as I have bluetooth speaker and headphones.
The screen is really good as good as htc or maybe better, bigger screen and good visual angles (I'm not English I don't know the word, I mean that you can see the device really well even if you tilt the screen) camera is a whole way better than htc, specially the stock one, I mean If you flash a custom rom you'll lose some features, but it'll still be amazing. I gotta say it's not that great when dark, but, can htc one take a video under the water?
The battery isn't the best thing of the xperia z, it's alright, depending on your use, If you just use message and stuff during the day it may last until 6 o'clock. Although I've seen a really big improvement using custom roms such as cyanogenmod and aokp. I've used pac rom, the phone will be great and you'll really make use of the 5 inch screen, but the battery won't be that great, still, I highly recommend you to give it a chance.
I think that's it, if you need anything else, let me know, btw I may sell my xperia z on perfect conditions, If you're interested, contact me,
Thanks button if I helped
I know you're saying that we shouldn't suggest you other phones. But, have you considered the Nexus5? It's available for Rs. 28999 on the playstore. Almost the same as Xperia Z(maybe a little less).

My dad has a Xperia z and the speakers although clean are as silent as well something really quiet. My one x is louder but to me not as clean. If it was me, I'd go with a nexus 5, HTC one or wait a bit and see what comes out of mwc and the events after.
