I bought Galaxy Note 2 recently. The product code on the box reads GT-N7100RWDAFG. I bought it from Kuwait, but I live now in Egypt.
I searched sammobile for the stock rom for such product but no luck.
Can anyone help directing me to the stock rom of such product?
And is it possible to flash other stock roms in my device like say Egypt stock roms? I mean will this void my warranty, cause any harm to the device or even change the original product code?
Finally I read somewhere that if you i bought note 2 form a country and live in a nother I would not get firmware update via official ways (Kies), is it true?
Thank you very much for reading and responding!
Much appreciated

You can flash any stock firmware you want without harming it. You will still get updates if you set the right csc for that rom properly. Did you change your rom? I suggest sticking to stock if you want to get ota updates.
Thanks Alot for your answer. I did flash the stock rom using mobile odin and then rooted the device using the amazing cf autoroot tool. Don't need the ota, doesn't work anways.
Thanks again.

Is it possible for me to flash an european firmware on it? I have many apps that come in chinese, and this sucks ><
Please help.

Like above said. Go to www.samfirmware.com, then go to "Firmwares and Files", choose Model and whichever country you want, and download it. Then, use Odin to flash it into your phone. Simple.
Your phone should be the international note 2. The model is "GT-7100 - Galaxy Note II".
Do you need to be rooted first before flashing a new ROM?
I am receiving a Chinese version tomorrow (UK), and was wandering if I could just change the CSC code and get get rid of anything that's in chinese language?
Thankyou

No need for root for the above way of flashing as they are stock roms...you can change the csc but each stock rom onky has certain regions in the csc

Please help.

What you mean by international version?
What are the differences?
I ask because I am failing to flash mine and it might not be international (probably).
Thanks

If your phone doesn't have 4G (LTE), then it's the international version, GT - N7100.
I have a Hong Kong Galaxy Note II, and I want to flash the official UK ROM on it.
I know the phone should work fine, however I want to know whether desktop Kies will recognise it as an official firmware and be able to receive future updates.
Basically, I want to convert a Hong Kong Galaxy Note II to a factory UK Galaxy Note II and be able to receive future updates through Kies as if it were a UK Note II.

No, Kies will not update your firmware if you have firmware installed that is not specificaly for your country/region. You have to do upgrades manualy with Odin.

Then you would have to change the product code, but why would you. Flashing a rom with Odin takes about 5 minutes mate, and is safer and better than Kies (wich is crappy software)

How can I change the product code to the UK unlocked version? The only reason I prefer Kies is so I can sell the phone at a later date on eBay without running into any problems, as it will be exactly the same as the UK version (if that makes sense)
Google it or search the xda forum.

I honestly had a look, but I can't find much information on it at all. Does changing the CSC also change the product code?
What if you flash different country ROM with odin? Will you have some problems with it. will you have some problems with radio or with something else because it's a ROM from another country?
Handwritten from my Note 2
Once if you have got the courage to install from odin, don't think you will ever need to wait for an official update for your region

Am i allowed to choose any firmware i want without bricking the phone or sth? They say it changes the csc but i dont know what is that and how bad it is to change it.
Csc is the reference to your country. You can use any csc but you might lack some features that the firmware of your country provides like language. If the latest firmware for your country was released in 2013 then I recommend you to flash it. Otherwise flash any firmware that you like which is released in 2013.

I'm trying to help a friend with his N7105 and I am lost.
He has been rooted running custom roms for a long time so that he could get group messaging. Now that the Hangouts app is available for download I'm trying to get him back to stock unrooted and he can do his own thing from here out. In doing so I realized that 4.3 was released for his model. I have looked for FW files on http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ for the right file, but don't see anything for the US or AT&T. But, there are sites all over saying it was released in a roll-out back in December like Android Police.
I've read from the forums on sammobile that you can flash another countries firmware package, but then you'll only get OTAs from that country. Also, if the package you use is carrier specific you'll have to unlock to phone again. Is there no AT&T US package available? If not, what are my best options?
Any help?
Don't know if this helps or not

The US ATT version of the Note II is the SGH-I317, does your friend have an ATT branded phone or an imported N7105?. Sawdoctor's link will work if it is an I317. Flashing a rom from a different country won't SIM lock the phone, but will install the default apps from whatever phone company's build is used. I have an N7105, live in Belgium but use the German TMobile build on my phone, I had no issues going from CM11 back to 4.3 (I actually did this on Tuesday).

That's the hard part. The phone is branded as AT&T and the sticker under the battery says SGH-I317 but if you boot it into bootloader it says it's a N7105. He bought the phone used from a local classifieds site to use with AT&T, he broke his screen after a few months and sent it into Samsung to repair it. I'm not sure if he was returned the same phone he sent if or if they just sent out a phone a different phone. Not sure if it's a N7105 that was imported (or in this case, refurbed and sent to him).
Hi,
I wonder if my Note 2 will be offered a taste of 4.4.2 KitKat? My phone had been stuck on 4.1.2 for ages. Could someone please advice? Many thanks!:crying:

Have you tried searching sammobile.com for the latest firmware in your area?
Or you could try custom roms from the development area. ^.^

Flash indian firmware. They are the first to get updates.
And when updating from 4.1.2 to 4.3 or 4.4.2 you should make a factory reset in recovery because they change storage location.
For best result after a flash i recommend you make a backup of your internal memory and flash the Indian firmware then make a factory reset.

Hi,
I have some doubts:
1) I still remember I saw some post stating that after flashing a stock rom, factory reset will change the CSC?
2 Is Chinese language available on India firmware?
Many thanks!
