Desire Stuck on boot with INT2EXT+ - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm using JB AOKP by Vj and for space needed reasons I decided to try the int2ext+ script. It works only the first time I boot the phone, on the second time it stays stucked on the boot animation.
Thanks in advance.

Did you delete the old script first?

I suppose yes, I made a full wipe (system, dalvik, sdext, etc tec). is it enough?

You wiped rom and then flashed a2sd script?

Yes I did it. I first wiped everything, flashed the ROM, and then installled app2sd (int2ext+) script.

I dont think u did. Like k3lcior said u need to delete a2sd from the rom. So on ur computer, open the rom zip and go to system/etc/init.d folder and check if theres any a2sd script there, if so delete it. Also check system/bin. Then put rom on sdcard and in recovery, full wipe, wipe dalvik then flash rom then int2ext script then reboot.

My Desire is also stucking in the boot animation. I tried to use Int2Ext and some others, but there is no change. My rom is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070704. It works for the first boot, but it won't work for the 2nd. I removed a2sd but it didn't change anything. What can i do?
Thanks

How did you partition your sd-card?

I had to primary partitions. My first is 6gb FAT32 and my second is 2gb Ext2.
I solved my problem. My solution:
1. Like mentioned above, remove a2sd from the int.d folder or how it's called
2. because it didn't reboot, I cleanded the dalvik cache with the clear dalvik cache zip by croniccorey which was made for the use with the script. you can find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124. it should fix the problem.

Did you flash a script in recovery which has to do with A2SD, e.g. one which moves dalvik-cache to EXT?
when you say full wipe... do you mean everything or just cache and dalvik cache?
Just to put this concept out there...Guys, kernel flashing does not need wipe of any kind. DK is a hardware optimized version of Odexes, which dont depend on a kernel architecture. Cache too is not used by kernel but usually by market. Incidentally on Data2SD roms, wiping DK/cache can cause bootloops..
OP..try flashing a kernel without any kind of wipe. If it still doesnt work, use the command line to monitor kernel messages during boot
adb shell
dmesg

Problem with Sandvold ROM ICS for Desire

Hi guys,
I have an other problem with this ROM. Sometimes when I turn off the screen the device locks, the only solution is remove the battery and turn off the Desire.
When the device locks I have or the screen totally black or the boot animation blocked and any commands don't work.
Someone have this problem or know the solution?? Thanks

Go back to using a stable rom and stop using a beta rom only to complain things doesn't work properly afterwards.
Go to recovery and do full wipe. Factory reset, cache and dalvik cache

Ok, Thanks. I have another question for you about this ROM. The volume (ring and alarm) is very low, how can I increase it??
From sandvold site
"Volume is very low!
Have you used Amarullz or Darktremor A2SD? Although both methods uaually work well they have been shown to cause lots of FCs with this ROM. A alternative A2SD method is baked right into this ROM so you don't need another one. See the question above this one."
Also you can download via market "audiomanager"..
But propably its the a2sd
You use darktremor script ? Because when you move dalvik cache to sd your sound will be low

i use it too, but my sound its ok, it wasnt at 0.3.4, but now at 0.3.6 my problem is fixed

Yes i use Darktremor script. I flashed this script because the "native" app2sd script of the ROM doesn't work good.
I follow the guide of the ROM to install the script but after the reboot i have always the same problem, the problem is that every app that I install is copied to both internal memory and external partition, so the internal memory fills up quickly.
The sound is now ok.
I still have the problem that I wrote at the beginning of this discussion (freezing of the device) but it is less rare.

No, actually i didn't format the system, i did only all wipe. I can do also the format .
So I can do this:
wipe chache
wipe dalvik cache
factory reset
format system
flash ROM
it's right???
do this
i did this and everything works fine
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. mounts and storage --> format system
u dont need to do anything else..these 2 options do all the other wipes and formats
3. install clean rom
tell me what happend

Gallery problems
Its a great ROM with a few expected problems being a beta. The problem I'm having is with the gallery. I can't access any of my albums.
I've tried Quick Pics but it doesn't find images stored online in G+ or Picasa albums.
Has anyone else come across this using a2sd?

Cannot get rid of MildWild rom

Hey Guys,
I downloaded MildWild 3.0 w/ Xperia Arc Launcher found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353861
This rom installs using my sd partition I believe, because I have a 1gb partition, and when it loaded up I had 800+ mb free.
This morning I downloaded the Cm7r2 version of Alex-V: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872464
I wiped my data/cache/dalvik/battery stats and installed that rom, but when it booted up it was MildWild again, so I did the same steps and tried again, with the same results.
I figured that there was something on the sd ext partition that was booting MildWild so I downloaded the "data2ext/whatever 387mb Hboot version" version of that same Alex-V rom.
This time it booted into a loading screen that said Android, instead of MildWild, but it just kept looping, and after leaving it for 15 minutes I just pulled the battery.
Now I decided to just wipe out my ext partition and sd card in full, so I went into the settings > storage > unmount sd card > wipe sd card
Booted into CWM, installed the Alex Cm7r2 rom again, AND IT BOOTED INTO MILDWILD! lol...
I have no idea what's going on, any info is very much appreciated.
Reflash recovery or try a different one and wipe again.
Do a full wipe.
if in 4ext....format all partitions (except SD card)
Else wipe/format system, data, cache, SD-ext.
formatting ur SD card will not wipe SD-Ext.

Thanks for your post.
I'm using CWM 4.0 and I don't see any option to wipe sd-ext, but it seems to do it when I do the wipe data / factory reset.
I can only see the 4ext remote that costs 2.50 or something in the market, is that the one you're referring to?

ok, so when I opened that app it just had the same options as I have in CWM, no sd-ext wipe, just factory reset/cache/dalvik and battery. When I chose all of them it asked me to boot into recovery to do them, and it just booted up CWM again lol
you need to flash 4ext recovery first via app
just confirmation are you s-off?

for 4ext: Flash the latest recovery (classic or touch) from the updater app. touch recovery is a good one to start with.
Thank you everyone for the help. I installed 4ext and flashed it ( I am s-off'd btw ) and I was able to wipe all partitions (except sd card) and it worked. I'm not sure what I was missing in CWM, because I definitely formatted the ext. As long as it works I'm happy tho, thanks again!

Your initial problem seems to be that you were not wiping /system/.
Your problem with the Alex 387MB version was that the /system/ partition was too big for your hboot.
When swapping between 2 different ROMS you always need to:
1) Check that the new ROM will fit on your hboot
2) Wipe all partitions except SD from recvovery.

[Q] MildWild CM-3.3 issues

hey guys. im very new here and new to the world of andriod. took the plunge with the Supernova rom, loved it till it gave issues with freezing
found the above mentioned rom and tried it out
LOVING IT. its super fast and stable without a joke, but here are my problems:
1: unable to download and install ANYTHING from the android market. when i try it, the phone flashes to the mildwild screen as if it rebooted and then nothing, no app installed
2: unable to set the free space on my memory card to be read as phone memory (as in supernova, it allowed u to set ur ext4 partition) i have a 8gb card and it was partitioned using Gpart for the supernova installation. i just cleared the partitions and tried the same thing with this rom. it only reads 140~mb free space as phone memory.
another point to note, i tried flashing the data2sd that was used with supernova. the phone didnt boot at all and i had to reflash with the mildwild rom to get it up again
so am a bit lost. any help is greatly appreciated
no one can help at all?

[Q] HTC Desire HD 4.2.x ROM Process Stopped Help

Current ROM JellyTime - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827590
Rom Manager v5.5.1.5.
Current Recovery ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0.
So I use Rom Manager to reboot into Recovery, where I wipe dalvik-cache, cache partition and data/factory reset. I then flash the zip, followed by gapps
Tried the following ROMS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003273
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073992
GAPPS
http://goo.im/gapps - I used the top one CyanogenMod - 10.1.x - 4.2.1.
When booted, I get two messages, press OK and they both continue to appear
"unfortunately system ui has stopped"
"unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped"
It appears as I have only just signed up, I cannot ask the Devs direct. I have searched through threads, and can see some others with same problem - no solution though. About to try a dirty flash from Jellytime.
Thanks
Dave

Ok so, CWM "Wipe Menu" :
wipe dalvik-cache
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvik cache and cache partition
wipe battery stats
wipte data/factory reset
Try to
wipe data, cache and dalvik again
then manually (in the advanced menu if I recall correctly):
format boot
format system
<...> (everything except sdcard)
I've taken a look, and nothing relating to formatting is under Advanced.
Under Mounts and Storage Menu however, there is the following:
unmount /cache
mount /data
unmount /sdcard
mount /system
format /cache
format /data
format /sdcard
format /system
mount USB storage
Yep there.
format /cache

Thats weird.. if you have already format everything except sdcard, and flash the rom only, and still got the same problem, then the cause is either from the cwm, which is quite outdated, or the rom itself.. but i doubt the rom is the culprit... try use ext4 recovery or update the latest cwm.. or maybe wait for someone who have a better solution..

Thanks for the replies, sorry I was busy over the weekend.
I tried booting 4.2.x with no SD, and same error occurs.
I am not interested in trying 4EXT, CWM is a widely used custom recovery I can't see why this could be at fault? I am running the latest version, though not the "touch" version!
Can't find anyone else with this issue!
BTW - I am S-ON?
Any further help or advice on this one?
Thank you.
I would try 4ext. CWM has had some problems on thus phone in the past. Also, if you are S-ON, are you fastboot flashing the boot.img? Check the Ace Think Tank thread in the General forum for a guide on how to do that. Though usually, not doing that results in a phone that hangs at the splash screen, not one with systemui stopping...
