I have s-on desire with default clockwork mod recovery v2.5.0.7
when I flash a rom it boots normaly, bu if I flash a kernel I get a boot loop ( I wiped delvik cache, and when that didnt work I did a full wipe)
so is it my recovery because I am the onlyone that is having this problem?
do I need to s-off?

Which rom did you flash and which kernel did you flash?

Wiped dalvik-cache + cache before flashing this kernel? Do you use something like A2SD?

Did you flash a script in recovery which has to do with A2SD, e.g. one which moves dalvik-cache to EXT?

when you say full wipe... do you mean everything or just cache and dalvik cache?

Just to put this concept out there...Guys, kernel flashing does not need wipe of any kind. DK is a hardware optimized version of Odexes, which dont depend on a kernel architecture. Cache too is not used by kernel but usually by market. Incidentally on Data2SD roms, wiping DK/cache can cause bootloops..
OP..try flashing a kernel without any kind of wipe. If it still doesnt work, use the command line to monitor kernel messages during boot
adb shell
dmesg

SORRY for not replying. my computer died.i tried to flash the kernel without wipe and I still have bootloop. next I am going try adb
edit: when it is booting adb devices is not showing the device
edit: when I flash the kernel and reboot
adb shell
error:device not found

Make sure you installed all drivers (correctly).

No nandroid backup to go back to for the moment.....

this must be it because I dont know what are you talking about

Check my guide for installing ADB correctly (see my sig). If it's not good (enough) for you, check droidzone's guide.

Well before flashing the ROM did you create a back up?
And when ever your flashing a ROM your suppose to do a FULL WIPE not just cache and dalvik
no used to doing this on droidx and i would just start from scratch if a flash didnt go through good
i read you cant flash roms with unrevoked is that true ? i can also still get into clockwork recovery should i just try another rom ?
You can flash roms fine with revolutionary and the version of cwm it installs. Try booting to recovery wipe data cache and dalvik cache, reflash ROM and boot to system.

Flash the ROM first do the theme later
Which recovery are you on? If it's TWRP: Get Amon_ra and wipe BOOT: and System: then clear data then just flash rom. It will work. I promise.
Um, you need to have the ROM installed before you can flash a theme for that same ROM.
ALSO, I strongly recomend flashing AmonRA 2.3 to your phone before doing anything else.
If you are going to use Synergy, please follow the directions for partitioning the sd card. Simply copy your sd card stuff onto your computer, format the sdcard then partition it. Then you can copy everything back to the sd card from your puter. It will make life a whole lot easier and faster.

Desire Stuck on boot with INT2EXT+

Hello,
I'm using JB AOKP by Vj and for space needed reasons I decided to try the int2ext+ script. It works only the first time I boot the phone, on the second time it stays stucked on the boot animation.
Thanks in advance.
Did you delete the old script first?

I suppose yes, I made a full wipe (system, dalvik, sdext, etc tec). is it enough?
You wiped rom and then flashed a2sd script?

I dont think u did. Like k3lcior said u need to delete a2sd from the rom. So on ur computer, open the rom zip and go to system/etc/init.d folder and check if theres any a2sd script there, if so delete it. Also check system/bin. Then put rom on sdcard and in recovery, full wipe, wipe dalvik then flash rom then int2ext script then reboot.

My Desire is also stucking in the boot animation. I tried to use Int2Ext and some others, but there is no change. My rom is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070704. It works for the first boot, but it won't work for the 2nd. I removed a2sd but it didn't change anything. What can i do?
Thanks

How did you partition your sd-card?
I had to primary partitions. My first is 6gb FAT32 and my second is 2gb Ext2.
I solved my problem. My solution:
1. Like mentioned above, remove a2sd from the int.d folder or how it's called
2. because it didn't reboot, I cleanded the dalvik cache with the clear dalvik cache zip by croniccorey which was made for the use with the script. you can find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124. it should fix the problem.

[Q] Boot Loop, Need help!

i have been running the kiss kernel for a while now, last night i tried to flash the hellboy kernel and retern to my pacman rom. but it still boots, i have cleared all my caches formated everything but my sd card, have tried flashing all kiss kernels and multipul hellboy kernels, but never gets passed the boot screen.. any ideas?
i managed to get it to the android is upgrading.. starting apps thing, but it gets stuck there.
Did you wipe anything when you flashed the kernel? If the kernel was for jellybean it shouldn't hang like that... not sure?

i am using the all in one tool kit to flash my kernel, yes i am in fastboot, a window pops up runs through code and my phone reboots, i have changed the kernel on it before, but for some reason this time it wont boot properly at all, the phone is currently at the " android is upgrading" screen, it was the starting apps box with the spinning circle
if you say that it is stuck at android is upgrading - that's because the dalvik works and it is deodexing your gapps.
so i suppose you flashed kernel, flashed rom and gapps and rebooted. well this works from time to time but you have to reboot between flashing rom and gapps.
1. download this kernel: hellboy
2. go to bootloader and flash the kernel.
3. go to recovery and: do a factory reset + wipe system - no need for wiping dalvik or cache cause factory reset does them both.
4. flash your rom
5. reboot.
6. if it boots properly, reboot to recovery and now flash GAPPS package.

My device stuck on HTC Logo when I format it !!

My HTC One X stuck on "HTC One's Logo" every time I try to format it,
so I restore my backup which works fine and when I tried to format it the same thing happened.
Whenever I try formatting my device it stuck on the logo !!
Please I need your help, what should I do with this strange problem ??
- Updated on May 26 -
Everything was okay one month ago and I was able to format my device normally but know I can't
I tried almost everything:-
1. I formatted my device then installed the ROM & Boot.img (and I was sure that it will not help)
2. I formatted my device from ARHD Aroma installation
3. I restore my ARHD backup then formatted my device again from CWM Recovery
Tips: formatting from recovery don't touch system partition, I'm sure
What do you mean by format? You mean from custom recovery? Factory reset from bootloader?
Maybe because you delete everything ? And without sytem it won't boot.

If you Factory reset a custom rom, it will bootloop! Because there's nothing to boot beyond the logo!
1. Flash the boot.img from the nandroid backup. Then fastboot erase cache
2. Now go to recovery wipe data/cache/dalvic and then restore the nandroid backup.
3. Reboot. Let the OS load completely.
4. Go to bootloader and then do factory reset.
If your still bootlooping, then download a nandroid backup from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 and then restore it! It will work flawlessly!
If you post your main-version, then we can also find a RUU for you?!

But I tried this lots of times before and it format only user data, and system partition remain as it is.
I forgot to say that also when I flashed ARHD and checked "wipe data partition" in Aroma, the phone also stuck.

Ok. start from zero.
Download again ARHD.
format sd card
Put ROM in Sd
Put this one in sd: http://d-h.st/kG0 (t.y for vin4yak for link)
Put boot.img in fastboot folder.
via cmd (i recomend to copy cmd into fastboot folder ((it automaticaly gives acces to that folder))) adb reboot-bootloader
type fastboot flash boot boot.img (fastboot must be in usb)
wait
reboot in recovery. install super wipe (link given)
clear catche, dalvik
install rom
clear catche, dalvik
And IF! it still got boot loop, go to bootloader and repeat fastboot flash boot boot.img command via cmd. It should work.
And after all, if it doesn't, do a full nandroid restore.
Good luck.
Formatting does only wipe cache and dalvic, you should still be able to boot. It does not get rid of Rom. I do it all the time when flashing a custom kernel. So maybe you should try as suggested above.
from my Viped out one x
Command: fastboot erase cache after flashing boot.IMG will fix it I guess. Looks like none of you do that but I always do that and never, I say never had a bootloop. And I switch ROMs weekly with wipes and all.
Hope it helps.

His question had nothing to do with flashing a boot.IMG, I've never not fast boot erase cache either. He was asking why when he hits the format button in recovery, his phone won't boot. Format in recovery simply wipes cache and dalvic so it should still boot, just like when you format after flashing the modules from a kernel.

O sorry for the misunderstanding.
So basicly OP asks "i took the fuel out of my car, why won`t it drive?"
Depends on wich recovery then cause in twrp a factory reset wipes not only cache and dalvik for sure!
From twrp site: A factory reset wipes data and cache (which includes dalvik cache). A factory reset will also wipe sd-ext and android_secure if your device has those items

Wildfire major problem!!!

Hey guyss
I am currently using RemPuzzle's latest ROM but the reason why i am posting it here is becoz it has been happening with all the ROMs that I have tried!
The phone works completely fine until the display is turned off for quite some time (put to sleep)! Then when ever I try to open it, it wont! The only way to make it work is by battery pull! I have tried flashing other ROMs but the same problem occurs with them. For now, I have selected in 'Screen Timeout' to 'never turn off'! But still it is very annoying me!
What I do when flashing the ROM: (CWM 5.0.2.0)
Wipe data/cache partition
Wipe cache partition
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Wipe boot
Wipe cahe
Wipe data
Wipe system
Flash ROM
Flash gapps (if necessary)
Flash CronMod
Flash CronMod dalvik cache wipe tool
Reboot system
Do tell me if im doing anything wrong!
Thnx in advance!

If my way doesn't work or solve any issues, then I'll try to give more advice in return, if others would like to aswell
Also if phone still reacts all weird, it's best if you take the phone to someone who can fix it up :good:
In any case i'll try and do my best
