Broken apps on 4.2 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Running 4.2 on my gsm gnex so far it has been pretty good but I have a few apps that no longer work properly listed below. What apps do you have that don't work properly.
MoBill - restoring backup fails and adfree not working- fixed developer updated the app
Slacker radio - cached stations will not play.
CWM recovery not seeing back ups.
If some make a list from this post I will paste it in this post so it is at the top.

MXPlayer gives a version unsupported error.
though this was the case during the last update too so i'd imagine they'd fix it soon

Firefox crashes upon start up on my sisters nexus 7. I assume its broken on galaxy nexus as well.

ChompSMS does not work on my GNEX with 4.2

Llama Location profiles keeps crashing on me. And dropbox doesn't auto upload photos anymore.

i upgrade my nexus to jelly bean 4.2 this morning and now my amazon appstore app keep logging out after i sign in, anyone know how to fixed the problem? Thanks.

This is why you guys should wait a week or two for app devs to catch up.
However, its really annoying that Google would make it so that its possible for an X.1 update to break app usage altogether.

SuperUser (3.1.3 and 3.2RC3) both don't work. It seems to be something broken in the su binary related to multiuser settings. (check logcat)
SuperSU is fine.

Dolphin Browser Beta is not working. Exiting when trying to visit any website.
Also, I used EZ Phone Tools for Vibrate on Call Receive. It is now not working. Currently there is no single app for this purpose which works correctly with 4.2

Not Working Properly in 4.2:
Holo Launcher HD (unresponsive dock)
TunesRemote+ (iTunes remote - crashes randomly on 4.1.2-4.2)
Dragon Voice (Nuance voice control - won't link with other apps)
BeeJive IM Pro (IM Client - constant crash loop upon start)
Falcon Widget was just fixed by the developer. They added a pointless lockscreen widget, but at least they fixed the regular widget as well.

Just a heads up for WMW players on Nexus 7.
I've found out that the game in subject runs just fine but only as long as you're connected to the net.
If you loose the WiFi connection or turn it off, the game force-closes upon launch.
This is either a JB compatibility issue or Nexus 7 compatiblity issue because the same game works just fine on SGS III with airplane mode turned on.
I've raised the issue with the Disney support, so we just have to wait how fast they'll react with the correction

It's mostly likely not an issue not being able to connect to servers. They most likely try to check for wifi/3g connection (as opposed to internet connectivity), and if it doesn't have it, they mishandle that, causing an application crash. I haven't watched the logs for it though, so not sure.
Same here mate, Reported to Disney, hopefully they look in to this soon
darn, I was hoping this issue was solved by now.
Im using an acer a500 with ICS and I have this same problem. Any workaround?

Any way to send files via WiFi Direct on cm10 like on Touchwiz??

I honestly think this is a great feature on the stock ROM. I could send app apk's to a buddy of mine and everything. Even HD movies.
So I'm only left to wonder, is this a feature of S Beam? Even though I didn't touch the phones, we just paired via WiFi Direct.
However he does have a S3 as well.

There are a few apps in the play store that do essentially the same thing. Bump being one I've used since my iPhone days.
But I have to admit, sbeam and the integration in the TW interface is much more user friendly. Would be nice to see something of the sort in CM10 but I wouldn't count on it

Bluetooth or try something called xlink in playstore. But with xlink you need to be on same wifi but its really fast.
This should work stock if you are on CM9/CM10. Google added Android Beam in ICS. It uses NFC to pair and transmit files, contacts and whatever.
The video here shows how to make sure it is turned on and how it works.

Yea, but the one he is talking about is the S3's ability to pair with another S3 through WiFi, not NFC, to share files.

I see... Jelly Bean uses NFC to set up a bluetooth connection which is faster but not as fast as Wifi...
Google added support for wifi direct in ics. Sadly it is just sdk. It took samsung to make an app. Even more sad is that in play store nobody took up the mantle and develop a third party app using that sdk.
Tried sending files with nfc with galaxy Nexus and my sgs3 and even that does not work properly, well it does send bookmarks, contacts and opens apps or opens play store to download that app, but it does not send actual files.
The only way is manually sending via bluetooth, but that's way too slow.
Also note that even with Samsung, the current file size limit for wifi direct is about 1 gigabyte.

Send files over WIFI
What I do is:
on Phone 1 make a wireless hotspot (tethering)
connect phone 2 to this hot spot.
use ES File explorer (free) to create a ftp server on phone 1 (in the settings)
Use ES File explorer on phone 2 to log into phone 1 by putting in the settings on your notification bar on phone 1 (the one that says FTP server is running)
then you can see all your files in phone 1, just copy what you want over or even stream a movie from your phone to your tablet...
then benefit to doing it this way is you can stream from another phone and you can also access files from a PC using filezilla(free)

Google Play Music crashing

A clue to the issue?
I've been following this issue for a few days.
I have a T-mobile GS3 on CM 10.1. Ran the update to Play Music and it crashes as well.
It looks like the issue might be too many songs on the device. Not sure what the threshold is, but unmounting my SD (which has about 5500 songs on it) prevented Play Music from crashing. So this looks like a confirmation of the cause, at least on my device. Hopefully they fix this soon.
I'm not sure I dig the new version, though. Where did the Instant Mix go?? I guess it's a radio station now, but that pulls things in from Listen Now. What if I just want my music?

Unfortunately when mine crashes it does not let me report it,
Looks like the update doesn't like too many songs. Deleted a few hundred and it works.
It's being fixed. Saw an article about the same issue and Google was working on an update to fix the issues with crashing and not properly closing its background process.

After reading that people were saying they had issues related to SD card storage I turned on the 'apps must request permission to read sd card' in case that was somehow related and re-installed. working for 5 mins without a crash now (never happened before)....
Maybe anyone having a problem try re-installing now?

Play Store Download Errors

Yesterday I had some apps that had new updates on the play store, so I started to update them.
I started seeing one wouldn't go through because it was giving "Package file invalid". So I tried over WiFi and same issue.
Got home and looked at my two tablets (Nexus 7-2012 and asus tf101) and they were having similar issues with updates, but different apps. I was also even getting download error #497. Sometimes just trying over and over again would work but now it seems like some apps just wont go due to the errors.
I tried clearing the cache/data of play store and download manager as google suggests, but that did not help. I've tried to use google's contact us form but I type this lengthy description of my issue and it tells me that I need to type more... (probably a glitch in their contact us form...) So I cant get something sent to them.
My girlfriend just got the S4 for sprint yesterday and now she is having the same issue, some apps wont download due to invalid package.
Is anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions on what can be done? Anyone think this is a issue on google's end?
Also, of my devices only the tf101 is rooted at the moment. Had some issues where I had to do factory restore on my GS4 and haven't rooted it again yet, and nexus 7 I kept reverted back to stock to get official 4.3
If they're system apps use a root explorer and delete them and install them again (if they're available on the playstore) if they're not then install them delete data and cache and remove your account and launch playstore and sign in and it should fix it... Remember if u delete an app with a root explorer you have ti reboot for it to take effect... And also fix permissions...

ive also been having errors with this. im on revolt 8/6 build and using PA gaps. but i have also tried with normal gaps, and get the same. its funny because it only happens with certain apps, and the apps that have the error change everytime i flash a different gaps. And yes, it even happens on newly installed apps.
Though to fix, i just turn off wifi and use data, its inconvenient but its a workaround until the actual problem is identified

go to play store, open menu go to settings and there is an option for auto update. I believe the default is to update over wifi only.
I was reading something earlier tonight (after having problems with 10.2 unofficial and getting error 497 with every file I tried to download) that Google was having problems with a few different ISP's and the Play store connections. Some people with the Nexus 7 (2013) were getting this error straight out of the box. Updates sometimes worked via Mobile network, but WiFi would fail with an error code or say package invalid every time.

Yeah, I just saw some articles on it finally. Sounds like everyone is reporting the same issue no matter what version of play store etc.
Use a VPN. Apps that refuse to update on my Wi-Fi network seem to update or download successfully if I use something like Hideman or Hideninja. I've not had problems with either. I can't vouch for their security, but Play Store reviews seem mostly positive for each. I use Hideninja VPN because it's free without time restrictions whereas with Hideman, you're limited to 5 hours each week and the shortest length of time you can activate is a 1 hour block.

I had read about using a VPN over the weekend, just needed to find a app to use. Hideninja did the trick and my apps all updated finally.

No. Only music you buy is kept. However, if you are a music addict like I am, the 9 bucks is worth it. If you don't renew your subscription, your music will disappear. If you start using all access again, your music will come back.

I just flashed back to stock today, and I have noticed that Play Music is better, but I still have issues. It will let me play a few songs (I got through 5) and I get the Music Playback Error. When I try to resume, it gives me the error immediately, but if I rewind the song, it allows me to play a few more songs.
I am going to try and disable caching and see how that affects it.
All of my testing thus far has been on Wifi (20Mbps fiber connection), so it definitely is not an internet issue.
Yeah the errors started up again for me too, but much more infrequently. Still frequent enough to be a huge nuisance though

I have logged a case with Google Play Support. They had me go through clearing app data, etc. Of course, this didn't work, so they asked for a logcat. I sent them two logs showing multiple occurrences of the error.
So far, they have been very responsive. I sent the ticket in yesterday evening and got a response within 15 minutes. Hopefully, their engineering team can figure out what is going on from my logcats.
