Hi guys i just wanted to know if i should upgrade to the xperia s or wait for the xplay 2 to come out?Sent from my R800i using xda premium
Depends on if you're wanting a phone that can really play games or not. Though, since Sony Ericsson will soon be no more, it doesn't seem likely to me to see a 2nd gen PLAY
Could always upgrade and pick up a gametel gamepad to connect to the phone through bluetooth. Wouldn't be as good as a dedicated controller in the phone but a close second
Yes, upgrade to Xperia S
Xperia Play 2 won't be out before 7 mounths at least

The 3-pin layout for different types of phones is different. SE ones only work in SE. Phones and apple ones work in apple devices

Hi guys im planning to buy a new phone.
But which one S or SL?
I know the only differences of specs are 1.5 vs 1.7 ghz dual core processor.
Which one to buy and why?

Isn't it the same processor just overclocked. There both Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon. Buy the S and over clock.

No, the only difference is overclock, other than this those two are exactly same phones.

as of gsmarena there's also bluetooth updated
if they are at the same price, you could go for the SL, otherwise take whichever costs less

GSMArena needs to update their review of the SL because it states Bluetooth 2.1 throughout it.

For me, the lack of micro SD isn't an issue. I never brought a bigger sdcard than 8 gig so the storage of the xperia s is good enough.

go for Xperia S.
I ordered the SL because it was on sale and the S was sold out.
It seems from the unboxing videos you get more of the accessories in the S, NFC tags & an additional screen protector. I don't think the SL came with those, not in the international versions at least.
The SL comes with a higher clocked speed, but the same CPU. There's also better bluetooth on the SL. Two additional colors are available for the SL too, Silver & Pink. Another change to note on the SL is the Xperia branding on the base strip, right under the transparent line.
Essentially it's the same device. Same chipsets, and S ROMs are reported to be working fine on the SL.

The Bluetooth and colors are the only difference. The s has the Xperia branding. I do wish my s had Bluetooth 3.0
Someone should extract the sl firmware so we can try the kernel

lack of micro sd card isnt an issue because it has internal memory of 32gb. acro s and ion are much more expensive than S and SL
i think im gonna go for Xperia S. because SL is not listed on sony jelly bean updates next year if im not mistaken. also SL has no own sub forum currently.

SL probably won't get a forum or be listed separately as its just an S with an over clocked kernel.
