Upgrade to xperia s?

Hi guys i just wanted to know if i should upgrade to the xperia s or wait for the xplay 2 to come out?Sent from my R800i using xda premium
Depends on if you're wanting a phone that can really play games or not. Though, since Sony Ericsson will soon be no more, it doesn't seem likely to me to see a 2nd gen PLAY
Could always upgrade and pick up a gametel gamepad to connect to the phone through bluetooth. Wouldn't be as good as a dedicated controller in the phone but a close second
Yes, upgrade to Xperia S
Xperia Play 2 won't be out before 7 mounths at least

Z1/SO-01D/R800 Xperia play models

Hi there I'm using wotan client to unlock boatloader but it gives me the option of three different models Z1,SO-01D and R800
I'm not sure which one I have and how I would find out anyone know any information about this
Thanks

From what I understand if your play has a hdmi port its a z1. The r800's are all the other versions. Whether that be a gsm or cdma version. No clue what the SO-01D is.

SO-01D is the Japanese version of the Xperia PLAY. Z1 was the original (development) name of the Xperia PLAY prior to its release. So for now the Xperia PLAY goes by two names, well three.
SO-01D - Japanese model of Xperia PLAY
R800 (at,i,x,a)
Another name that signifies the type of motherboard is Zeus.
Thats all I got.... but hope it helps clarify. So unless you have a Japanese model your phone will be R800. You can find out by doing the following from the homescreen.
Menu, settings, about phone, Model Number: R800 (then whatever letter you have. at is AT&T (USA), I (International)

No problem. Congrats on the unlock. Having an unlocked bootloader is the way to go. Have fun.

You can use the STH30 with any popular smartphone, tablet, laptop or music player with a standard 3.5 mm audio connector. Whatever you’re into – music on the move, gaming, mobile video entertainment – you’ll get the best experience.
