hi, im not sure if anyone else has encountered this problem, but ive had my desire hd for a few weeks now and its been working great. i rooted and flashed with hd revolution and again everything worked great.
now today i flashed an updated verison of that rom and when it had rebooted i noticed that the whole screen is suddenly not being used. a few milimeters on the right hand side and top of the screen and the image is slightly squashed to fit into that space.
i rebooted a few times and did a battery pull before thinking it must be a bug in the new build of that room and restored the room i backed up just before upgrading. but the problem is is there :/
not only that is present on all boot levels, so when your booting its there and in fastboot or recovery :/
could this be a hardware problem? has anyone else encountered this?
sorry if ive not explained this very well
thanks
must be a bug... what i suggest is do a full wipe and then flash a fresh rom...see if that solves ur problem doode

If you download the PD98IMG.zip for the downgrade thread and place on your SDcard, boot into bootloader (not recovery) your phone will restore itself to HTC stock firmware.
Hi all,
I have search , but it seems that nobody have this.
Yesterday, i had trying the new CM9 Rom from Modaco ( not so bad), and when I come back with a Nandroid restore to my daily rom, i had lost the volume in my external speaker ( back of the handset)
I don't think this is a hardware problem because , the speaker works , i can hear music correctly, BUT with a very very low volume.
I have try to flash some boot.img with another rom like ARHD 5.2, and do a superwipe, but the volume stay very low.
If somebody have an idea , please help.
Thanks
Edit :13-05-2012
After a lot of tests , now my speaker does not work any more. It is completely mute in all the Rom .
If somebody have an idea : I need to know if it s a Hardware or Software problem.
If is a software problem, maybe somebody knew a solution: HHHHELP
That happened on my first (unrooted) HOX. I plugged some headphones in and removed them and it went back to normal. Never happened again.
Thanks, but not works for me.
This is my third HOX, and now it is unlocked .
I want to be sure that is a hardware problem, if i have to ask to HTC to repair it.
I would suggest using the RUU to do a complete reinstall of your phone rather than flashing boot images from other roms just in case the boot.img's you are using conflict or dont alter the same files.
You could maybe try this though:

I try this very soon.
Thanks.

I have relocked the phone and install the RUU 1.28, but no change. Still speaker with a very very low volume ( can't hear the ring ).
If somebody have an idea . I pray for that was not a hardware problem ( one more ) of the HOX.

Sounds like hardware to me, the fact it went quiet then gone altogether I would think it blew
Were you running any volume boost apps or anything?

Thanks for help.
Seems to me that is effectively a hardware problem.
I'm happy to be the first with a speaker problem.
I 'm tired of that phone. 3 differents handset , with 3 differents problem.
Seems to me that the GS3 have a good futur , with the shame from HTC.
While I am in a call up to my ear, not speakerphone, I can hear the other person perfectly. However, they cannot hear me.
If I go to speakerphone they can hear me.
I am running s3rx 4.1.1
Update flashed back to stock using odin and still no luck. They can hear me on speakerphone but not when it is by my ear.....
I'm assuming this was not an issue until flashed this rom.
Did you come from a full wipe? Have you tried wiping a reflashing to see if this corrected the issue?
If you've done all the troubleshooting you can, post the issue and your fix attempts in the ROMs thread. Cheers

Hey guys, this is my first post to XDA-Developers so I hope I will not **** up something.
I had problems with my P6, because the volume was really, really low. So I found tutorial on this site where someone recommended to delete codec folder
(system/etc/audio/codec)
So I did delete this folder and rebooted my phone, it seriously gave boost to my volume and it was cool. But problem is, people have troubles to hear me. They don't hear me clear while I'm calling with them, weird thing is, it only does when I'm calling via classic calling, when I'm calling with Viber, I sound clear. So if you somehow help me, how to stay with boosted volume but with clear calling again, I would be really glad. Otherwise, can someone please upload original "codec" folder? Because I would rather have lower sound than issue where no one can hear me.
Also, this site is awesome, so much helpful advices here! Thank you, stay awesome!
That can be a common issue, I would recommend installing the rom again, a suggestion would be to use the china b188 as volume is much louder

I would like to try adding back that folder before reinstalling whole phone..Because installing the rom again is basically same thing as resetting phone to factory settings right?

Guys, I would still rather appreciate if someone just take a minute and upload that codec folder. I will give you a cutest picture of cat on the internet. And if it doesn't help, then I will probably have to reset phone to factory settings.

If u do factory restet it will not put back codec folder. ( from where he will get it, u deleted it )
To get all back to stock u must update your phone with some stock rom and then u will get back that codec folder.
u sugess to use B122 or B118 what can be found on XDA
And next time read all topic not only first page, in that topic can find 2 more sugestions how tune up heanphones sound.

Okay, I installed B122 Rom and problem is solved.
I recently bought an Optimus G (Korean Model F180L) and followed this guide : (symbianize) /showthread.php?t=1103182 * to convert it to the E975.
I used the NEU/EUROPE OPEN kdz file, and everything is working perfectly, except ONE thing; when I try to call someone, there is no ringing sound. Then when they answer, I can't hear them.
Is this a software fault? I really don't know much about this type of stuff, what should my next course of action be? Any advice would be gratefully received!
*sorry, it won't let me post the full link due to low post count

Yep, definitely F180L. And I'm pretty sure the baseband flashed properly. I have signal with my network, and can make and connect calls. They can hear me speaking too, but I can only hear them if they're on loudspeaker :S
Sorry to repost, but I really need some help! Does anyone have any suggestions of things I could try at all?
Is it likely that the firmware would cause this problem? Or is it probably a hardware issue?
If anyone has any idea pleeeeeeease let me know

Aaaaah! I tried to flash a CyanogenMod rom using a guide on True Android, and got to the part where I had to flash ClockworkMod Recovery. Having installed it, the phone no longer starts up! It just keeps saying 'Secure booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify'
I googled that phrase and came up with some other people having similar problems, but there seems to be a million different proposed solutions and I haven't a clue where to start.
I had no idea this would be so difficult!
Terry try another one, stock based, savvy rom v4 or 5x ,
Put rom in ur internal memory, goto recovery,do a full wipe, flash rom , reboot.

Thank you for your help, but I can't do what you suggested. It's permanently stuck on the 'Secure booting Error' screen, even when I pressed the volume + power buttons to try a hard reset, the same problem occurs.
So think about kdz again

Ok, so I managed to get CM 11 working. The problem persists, so I'm assuming the ear speaker is faulty.
Thanks again for your help, please excuse my utter incompetence

Do you mean what's wrong with it?
There's no sound through the ear speaker when calling people. The only way to hear what they say is with headphones or loudspeaker.

no i mean your ear speaker is working fine before flashing, and right after flashing new firmware it stop working so i think its not about hardware failure.
