SGP ultra crystal is back again? - Galaxy S III Accessories

According to the Sgp website, the ultracrystal is back for the S3.
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/sa...axy-s3-screen-protector-steinheil-series.html
I am confused. What happened to the curved crystal? I don't see it anywhere in the list. Has anyone tried the new ultra crystal? How does it compare to the ultra nano clear or the curved crystal?

I bought it last week. I haven't put it on yet. I love the way the Nano sticks but hate how thin it is because it wrinkles and scratches.
I am hoping the ultra crystal thickness helps this.
I guess the original crystal covered the entire screen before they figured out the curved glass.

@ricktat : If it is not too much to ask for, can you apply the ultra crystal on your s3 and post some pics? I couldn't be patient for someone to review the ultra crystal again so went ahead and ordered the ultra nano clear for the time being. How is the protection on the nano clear?

Nano clear works great and does its job. I'm getting a nano optics though because I want a matte screen protector so I can actually use my phone outside in the sun.

the original crystal had adhesive issues on the sides. It was discontinued and then re released claiming the adhesive was fixed. Looks like they stopped it again and brought it out again. I wonder why :s

The outdoor visibility on the S3 is very very good. The auto-brightness feature does a really good job. The ultra optics is known to have many issues. If you want clarity, optics is the last place you should go.

Smooth, transparent GS3 screen protector

What screen protectors for the SGS3 are perfectly smooth and transparentr? The screen protector I have on my current phone (BB) is slightly "frosted" or textured which messes with the pixels on the screen. It does make it easier to swipe and does not attract dust or fingerprints, but I would rather have a screen protector that is perfectly clear for the SGS3. What are some good ones?
just look for clear/crystal vs. matte (the "frosted" you have)

Go with SGP Ultra Crystal Screen protectors if you are looking for something that looks and feels like glass. No rubber feeling to it like some skins, and as the product name states, they are crystal clear. I have used Zagg, BodyGaurdz, Skinomi, etc, but I always go back to SGP Ultra series protectors because of how they feel, and protect the screen. Not to mention, it is a dry install, no water or spray to mess with and no bubbles.
I just ordered mine from Amazon yesterday for $13 + free shipping. Don't have my SGIII yet, but I have been used SGP covers on my SG, and SGII. Excellent protectors.
Thanks for this share. I've tried all you mentioned. Waiting for my new SGS3 also!

I have only tried Invisible Shield and those cheap $2 screen protectors in the past, hated all of them till I got the SGP for my One X. LOVED it! It literally feels like nothing is there and looks like nothing is there. Ordering one for my S3 now
I've always been a fan of Realook. That is what I ordered for mine.

DO NOT buy zagg invisible shield. I just did for the first time and i am demanding a refund from best buy.
+1 for the SGP Ultra Crystal, EXCEPT they've been discontinued - I've got one on mine and have the problem they've noted (there's another thread for this) - the way the screen curves, the edges don't seal. Spigen is replacing them with the Nano, to be out soon, I think. I'll be ok leaving it on until then, but you might want to hold off.
Just ordered a SGP Ultaclear Nano screen protector off of Amazon.
Getting all of these goodies in the mail without a phone to put them on is such a drag... *sigh*
Might be out of place but y use a screen protector. Want to know ur perspective> the ups and downs

What did you not like about it?

SGP Curved Crystal Screen Protector covers the entire screen!!

I was reading about the thread about ultra Thin case for galaxy s3, and I found this product up on SGP website, and I realized no one has talked about it in this forum! I already got Flex Hd, but It sounds so innovative because I heard there were no screen protector that covers the entire screen!

tho its still not released only pre-orders available
Edit: btw how the Flex HD running? is it sticky and got orange peel?
Great. Got my nano clear yesterday and now they release an improved product for the Galaxy S3.
I'm still waiting on my replacement nano (ordered the crystal when it came out)....wonder if there's any way they can wait and send me that new one.
I am wondering will there be conflict with the hard case on?
I hope it fits well, so this will be available to buy in next two weeks right?

Yes, me too they sent the nano just 2 days ago, by the way i prefer the nano cause i don't feel good with the Flex HD, personally i think that the Flex isn't too thin around the home button.

Not sure what you mean about cover the whole screen, but the xtremeguards I got cover the whole screen. And it's kinda of a shame because it gets lifted up on the corners by some cases. I am gonna have to reapply mine to get it aligned more prefectly.. I think it's the reason most screen protectors leave space at the edges.

All of dry screen protector are cut short because it lifts up on the curved edge, and only wet screen protectors can cover the whole screen. And, this is the first (so far I know) "Dry" screen protector that "covers the entire screen". Xtremeguard is also a wet screen protector. Some people prefer the glass like feels of dry screen protectors than rubbery feels of wet screen protector. Hope this helps!
Here is little more information about the Curved Crystal from SGP.
"Thank you for contacting Spigen.com Customer Service Department.
Hi, my name is Diana from Spigen.com.
Thank you for your interest in our products! The Curved Crystal will have 100 micron thickness. For your reference, the Ultra Nano Series are 50 micron thick, and the Ultra Crystal is 120 micron thick. All of our products are designed to be compatible with one another. Therefore, if used with our cases, the screen protectors should be not affected. However, we cannot guarantee if this product is not used with a SPIGEN SGP case.
We unfortunately, do not have any definite plans to produce a GLAS.t for the Galaxy S3 at the moment. However, if there is increased interest from our customers, we may change our production plans in the future."
I think we need to start thread requesting GLAS.t for Galaxy S3!

Samsung Galaxy S3 Screen Protector Steinheil Curved Crystal

This looks pretty interesting. I pre-ordered mine today. I'll report back when I get it in a couple of weeks.

I saw this last night on their site... looks promising
Just got my SGP Ultra Nano Optics today for my GS3....I had the SGP ultra oleophobic for my One X which was perfect, couldn't see it was on and couldn't feel it was on.
I'm bummed on the SGP Ultra Nano Optics though! It feels like one of those holographic cards that makes the squakey noise when you rub your finger on it...feels NOTHING like glass like my last SGP protector! hopefully they let me return it as it stated there was no tactile difference but there is a huge one.
Also hoping that this one is more like their other screen protectors that feel like glass!
I just installed the NANO and it was a painless installation. Although cut smaller than the screen it is hardly noticeable as it is really Ultra Clear. If you don't look for the edges you will not notice. I also really sticks well along the edges too. The surface becomes slippery with use. I am happy with this one. No orange peel effect.
Awesome that they're bringing the Crystal line back with a built-in curve that won't peel up! Glad I didn't buy the Ultra Nano right away after I returned my discontinued Ultra Crystal (non-curved).
Might just order this to replace my $0.99 skinomi, since the skinomi tends to peel up a bit at the edges where the TPU case meets it, and makes it huge hassle to change cases.
Definitely considering this over any of Zagg's offerings. I assume this only ships with a single protector?
Also not a deal killer but does SGP charge your card immediate or not until orders ship?
FYI: They are offering this protector in their eBay store for the same price WITH free shipping. Some preorder with 1-2 weeks for delivery.

Better be careful. I'm not sure it's "them". The one I bought was from an authorized reseller and had free shipping.
I emailed SGP to ask them about exchanging the nano for the curved and they said no, because I didn't buy directly from them.
The auction was worked a little tricky to make it look like it was indeed them, but they did have an authorized dealer icon too.
... waiting to see if the adhesive is strong enough to not lift up with my diztronic tpu case... Once that is confirmed I will be all over this

you shouldn't have a problem with the Rock case. i'm holding off on this until i receive my PixelSkin HD. if i don't like it then i plan on getting the Rock case and i'll get this screen protector to cover the entire front.
Had the issue with my Realook screen protector with the Cruzerlite case lifting up the edges. Decided to just take off the film and go without for the time being. I may pick this up though, looks nice.

SGP Spigen Ultra Crystals are back. How does it compare to Curved Crystal?

Hi guys! So I posted the question on a different thread but didn't get any response so posting it here. I ordered my Ultra Nanos, but found all these new/ updated stuff on their site. So I'm wondering if I should return these and either get the curved crystal, which is available now, or their ultra crystal, which to my knowledge was discontinued due to defect, which they replaced with Nano. Now, I feel like the ones I ordered are outdated . Has anyone already received their ultra crystal or curved crystal and if you have, can you post reviews please? Thanks! Also, for those who got their ultra crystal, is it the same product as before or is it different? BTW, the bottom is a repost of what I wrote on a different thread:
ok so i went to spigen's website to order the curved crystal and found that they are selling the ultra crystals again..http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-s3/samsung-galaxy-s3-screen-protector-steinheil-series.html im kinda confused.. anyone know what's going on?? is it an improved ultra crystal or the same product they are selling again? i'm guessing its a different product since they themselves said the old ultra crystal was defective??
I just followed your link and got a 404 error from Spigen's website.

The link that op provided is wrong. The ultra crystal is on the spigen website though.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
From the description, my understanding is they are making the size of the new ultra crystals smaller (similar to nano clear size), but thicker than the nano clear/nano optics. This can be a good option if curved crystal turn out to be difficult to install.
Why not just get the Nano, I've had no problems with mine, crystal clear and covers enough of the glass. Feels as smooth as glass after the initial friction wears off (takes a couple of hours). Great screen protectors really, dry installation that does not bubble up.
I understand there are some people who really want to make sure every millimeter of their phone is under a protector, and for those people the curved protectors are probably a good bet. Other than that, I don't really see the need for a crystal and a nano since they both basically do the same thing. Only difference is, we know the nano doesn't bubble up, while the older designed cystals did.

Video Review: SGP/Spigen Curved Crystal Screenshield

Hey fellas,
Finally got my hands on the SGP Curved Crystal for the Galaxy S3. This is a full coverage screen protector similar to the Tridea True Shield, but I quickly realized this is a better product. Installation was very simple and the results are incredible! Fit and finish is fantastic, covering the whole display and only having cutouts for the speaker, home button and front facing camera. Clarity is great as well, although it shows a little fingerprinting on it. For my personal use, this is terrific and I highly recommend you watch the video below and see if it's a fit for you!
Check out the video below for all info;
Thank you for the excellent video.
What about the scratches ? Does it scratch like the SGP Ultra Nano Clear ?
So what is the right screen protector if you are using a TPU case?

Not as bad as it, no. They are mostly hairline scratches. Some users reported that theirs 'dented' if you pushed your nails into it too hard, although I haven't experienced that problem.

You'll be fine with mostly ANY other screen protector, seeing as they aren't made for full coverage.
Great review, would you happen to know if the screen protector would have any problem with the SGP Neo Hybrid? I'm guessing it shouldn't since they're both SGP products. I'm looking for a screen that offers full screen protection so I might end up picking this up or the glas.t that they have up for sale.

Dents?
I'm wondering how it will hold up a few days from now, please keep us updated! The denting problem seems pretty common, though.

I've had the shield on for 10 days or so and I haven't experienced a wide-spread issue with the denting, this may be just because my nails are cut very short. However, when I read the issues some were having, I decided to purposely try and dent the screenshield and see if any blemishes would be permanent or if they would disappear. Most screen protectors have self-healing properties and this one did the same for the forced dents I created. Seems any permanent dents would come from applying extreme pressure to the shield.
Would an Otterbox work or is it like a TPU case and cause peeling?
