T889 Gaming Performance? Mine has noticeable lag - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

How is everyone's gaming performance on their T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2? Mine seems pretty low for some reason...
NFS Most Wanted seems to only run at about 20-30fps, Dead Trigger stutters often on high graphics, and the worst one Riptide GP performs much worse than on my Galaxy S3 (with Snapdragon S4)
Riptide GP works perfect on my Galaxy S3 at full resolution in the settings, no hitching and feels like 50-60fps. On my Note 2 it feels like 30 fps average (which feels horrible to me, I'm a 60fps+ only PC gamer) with drops to about 15fps happening often causing a ton of stutter. Even if I turn the resolution all the way down in the settings it still stutters, although not as much.
I was under the impression that the Exynos 4412 + Mali 400 was superior to my Galaxy S3's Snapdragon S4 and that gaming performance would be much better.
I am on stock rom and stock kernel, haven't messed with the phone at all yet. I've tried turning on and off all the power saving features and restarting the phone to see if maybe those were stuck on. Anyone else here able to play Riptide GP smoothly? I'm thinking maybe it's just a problem with cpu/gpu throttling, although I'm not sure why they would have it so bad on the stock rom.

lol how does that happen?? try a quadrant run to see the results
i get max fps on all games i play on it that includes NFS MW

i play everything on high / ultra and don't have framrate issues. deadtrigger deadzone etc, maybe something is running in the bg?

Yea very odd. I've had no lag in any game and I've tried all games on the highest settings. I've played all emulators as well including the PlayStation as well.
From the Best: Note 2

I also came from an S3 from TMo, and Riptide GP when set to maximum graphics would noticeably stutter. The Note 2 however plays it buttery smooth at max settings. Maybe a factory reset is in order?

Make sure you don't have power saving on as well.
Sent from my JellyBean Galaxys3

Odd that you have that issue. Between Nova 3, Shadowgun, Worms, NFS Most Wanted, Asphalt 7, The Dark Knight Rises, and Dead Space I haven't had any stutters.
Might be what you have running in the background
noted for future reference on my Note 2

Like I said I have all the power save options off, I have tried closing all BG apps and tried clearing the RAM and restarting the device.
I just closed apps, cleared ram, and ran GLBenchmark on my Galaxy S3 (Snapdragon S4) and T889 (Exynos 4412) simultaneously.
About half the scenes were smoth on both devices, and half the scenes were very sluggish on the T889 while they were still fluid on the Galaxy S3.
The end result:
T889 GLBenchmark 2.5 Egypt HD C24Z16: 1950 frames.
Galaxy S3 GLBenchmark 2.5 Egypt HD C24Z16: 2348 frames
So my Snapdragon Galaxy S3 edged out my Note 2 by almost 20% but it seemed like even more of a difference watching visually, where the Note 2 lagged in some scenes while the S3 stayed smooth in those scenes. I'm not sure why my Galaxy S3 is so much smoother in games I have already tried a factory reset. Maybe I'll try to flash a new kernel and rom, I honestly think the stock rom chokes the GPU or CPU too much with throttling I'm guessing. I just don't know why no one else has this problem!
Just curious what do you guys get on the GLBenchmark 2.5 Egypt HD C24Z16 on your T889's? I did "onscreen" for both devices. Do you notice that some of the scenes seem like they have a veryyy low framerate? (10-15fps while my S3 seemed like it was 20fps+)

maybe try installing a new rom, a fresh start see what happens because that is not normal

I ran the same benchmark on two note 2's and got roughly the same as yours.

Some gpu's are better at some things than others. Run quadrant on both and see what the real time fps are. I know my s3 in quadrant during the dna test at the end would average 33 fps while the note 2 gets almost double that. Same with other parts of that test. Antutu most of the graphics tests are very close.

You should know that Exynos is particularly weak at drawing triangles compared to Adenos. Go take to look at Anandtech's review. I think Exynos 5 has a lot better triangle drawings compared to Exynos 4.
All GPUs have their own weak and strength points.

Compared to the Nexus 4 GLBenchmark I've seen, GN2's much worse. But mine ran Most Wanted without a problem. And since my Nexus4 is in limbo I can't really complain.

Nexus 4 is pretty much next generation hardware. The Snapdragon S4 Pro and Adreno 320 GPU are at the absolute top of the Android food chain right now.

This. Installed Jedi 4 rom with the Perseus kernel and it's muchhh better. Still not perfectly 60fps smooth, but it is a lot better.
I'm pretty sure my suspicious about throttling were right though, even on the Jedi 4 rom with the Pegasusq governor the throttling still seems a little too harsh. I opened up Riptide and then started System Tuner and reset the "Times" page. Then I played through a whole race with a little bit of slowdown (which is to be expected, but it is wayyyy better than before) then I went right back to system tuner and it shows that pretty much the whole race the CPU core clocks were at 500mhz, 600mhz, and a little bit at 700/800mhz. Literally didn't touch 900mhz - 1.6ghz at all the entire race.
Tried the performance governor where it stuck at 1.6ghz and the race was definitely 60fps through the whole thing, although I'm sure this really hammers the battery. I wish there was a happy medium, if the game is not running at 60fps I wish the governor would ramp up to more than 800mhz to try and reach that 60fps but I'm still happy I'm geting equal / better performance than my S3 now!
The same goes for Shadowgun Deadzone, plays pretty smooth with a little bit of slow down, but if I force the performance governor it's 100% smooth. We need a new gaming governor!

Try ondemand? Maybe thats is a happy medium.

Unfortunately there's only Pegasusq and performance on this rom, so I've been setting it to performance and 1ghz max freq when gaming, works great!

What,... I was on topic on why the Galaxy Note 2 has noticeable lag? I did a side to side comparison with my Galaxy Note 2 and it does not run as smoothly as the iphone 5. So obviously the GPU is not nearly as good as I would have hope for. Is the word Iphone not allowed around here?

No its not. Never say the iphone is better than anything. ...har har

My Thoughts On Android 4.0.4 (GSM) GNexus

So as a person who has ranted on this board before on how ****ty 4.0.2 was, I just wanted to give my thoughts on 4.0.4
The main point I want to make is that this update is really really really good!
Good Points:
-WAY Smoother overall.
-Browser Is WAY smoother and much better at rendering pages properly (Big thing for me since I constantly use the browser throughout my day).
-I don't think chrome is even necessary at this point. They will probably just merge the two.
-Camera seems much better, although my not a huge photo guy.
-Battery life is incredible! On 4.0.2 I would barely make it till the end of my day (6pm-9pm). Right now I still have 68% left. My results aren't the norm since, I rarely use the phone for long periods of times. But the difference is definitely noticeable in my daily useage.
-Switching between 3G/4G seems much better now. Everything tends load quicker now. (Twitter, browser, pulse, etc.)
There are other good points, but these are what most matter to me.
Bad Points:
-Still a slight lag between pushing multitask button and the apps showing up. But it is much improved over 4.0.2
-Some slight lag when opening app-drawer (transition is not smooth, but not bad either) However in app-drawer everything is smooth
-Minor gripe that might only bother me, is that the calender widget now shows the colored squares that represent different calendars in the middle of the box for each event, I thought it looked much better when it was smaller and in the top left corner.
There might be others, but these are what really bug me.
So yea, I think this is great update and this how the nexus should have launched.
Btw I am curious about what SMP PREEMPT Mar 13 means under kernel version?
Thanks for taking the time to read this. =)
In the secret menu (you can access dialing *#*#4636#*#*, in the first section) It is selected 'WCDMA Preferrer' or GSM/CDMA Auto (PRL)?

Are you using a live wallpaper? I noticed this too until I switched to a static wallpaper.
My main favorite of the update is auto-brightness actually works now, and has nice transitions when increasing/decreasing the brightness.
No native mounting of USB OTG storage yet though

Thanks! You were right on, now the transition is really smooth after I switched to static wallpaper. Hopefully they can fix the problem with live wallpapers down the line and hopefully it is not a GPU limitation.
4.0.4 fixed the Wi-Fi drop out problem with some routers.
This's a really big improvement.

Not the same GPU.
It has been beefed up considerably.
Nexus S GPU runs slower and is fed by single channel ram.

Same, but different.
Galaxy Nexus has an overclocked version.....also its being fed by dual-channel memory now. It's on average 100% faster in GL benchmark off-screen tests. Though dual-core CPU plays a bit of a role but GL benchmark is mainly GPU. So yea on average you can expect the Galaxy Nexus SGX540 to be about 100% faster than the Nexus S SGX540 or about double the GPU performance.
Of course, it still pales in comparison to SGX544mp2 and Mali-400
But I doubt it's GPU limitation holding back live wallpapers.....more like live-wallpapers not being optimized. I'd prefer to run a black background or something anyway to save battery....live wallpapers were fun for a little bit, but got boring fast.
You can check it out on anandtech
Edit: ^^ beat to post by 2 minutes haha
Is our gpu really that much slower than mali though? I thought i saw one particular benchmark between the two like 8 Mflops vs 5 Mflops...seems same ballpark to me. Just a lot more pixels to push in the HD screen
Over in the G note forum a thread exists claiming their mali gpu is too weak for their screen and that they experience stutters and lag. Makes me not feel so bad having our current gpu.

Haha, really?
One thing that I am happy about is that on the lockscreen when you go to camera it goes straight into the camera rather than going to the homescreen AND THEN going into the camera app.
Why is panorama square? Is it just happening on my end? Started with 4.0.2 it's been square not rectangular shape.

It's slower....around 50% slower than the Mali-400. But it's definitely not too weak.
There are a lot of things to account for.......the TI OMAP has HD coding capabilities which help it display things to the 1280x720 screen the Galaxy Nexus has much much easier and faster while being less "performance hungry" it's a pro of the TI OMAP that very few people take into account....Exynos can hold its ground though. In general though, the TI OMAP is a bit faster CPU wise than the Exynos, they trade blow really.
Nothing we use our phones for are really even taxing the GPU/CPU. Yea a few games here and there, but the Nexus can run them all fine. Android in general isn't really "Great" for playing games compared to iOS at leeast because of fragmentation etc...but it's great to use it for daily use and it does it's job.
Maybe when we start doing some crazy video/photo editing on smartphones.....CPU/GPU will play a much larger role. The biggest leap for android was probably single to dual-core and now, things aren't as big of a leap in general user experience performance.

He's talking about the stock 4.0.4 OTA.
I think most people are getting a little overexcited about the "smoothness".
In my experience, 4.0.4 is not really "WAY SMOOTHER". I personally can't tell the difference and I pay a lot of attention to stuff like smooth transitions, scrolling, delays, multitasking, ...
The battery life is definitely improved though. I get a lot more "screen" and a lot less "android os".

Is it just me, or do games run badly on ICS?

I've owned Android devices prior the Nexus, and one thing that's always bothered me is that my Android could never run games as smoothly as the iPhone, while it has more power under the hood. I download Fruit Ninja and Scrambled on my Nexus and it seems to lag and stutters... are all games like this on the Nexus?
I would think it's because the game is not optimized for ICS yet. So you will get some lag and stuttering with those games.
What rom/kernel combo you running? On aokp & franco kernel, I play jelly defense, battle heart, scramble with friends, draw something, sprinkle, etc & have no lag...

384 is the stock clock =/= 2x gpu clock. Even then it only makes a 5-6 fps differnece in most circumstances. Could have better results in different apps but nenamark i saw a 5-6 fps difference.
Temple Run is stuttering in Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 stock
I really think it's just software optimizaitons that need to be done imo. I'm sure with time it'll get better. Cause I'm running Temple Run perfectly no lag/stutters.
I personally wouldn't play Fruit ninja as they were in news in hot water over passing on our details.
As for games on Galaxy Nexus, they run slower than SGS2 and I think that's simply the limitations of the graphics chip which is as old as the hills.
I use a GSM Galaxy Nexus, stock, no overclock, no frills, just rooted to use Titanium Backup, never had any lags in Fruit Ninja, runs fine... Temple Run, ocasionally will stutter, but it is rare and most of the time I just play 20, 30 times and no stutter at all... GTA III also plays fine.
Obviously it is not the best performer, and, as you probably now, there is the same iPhone 4 GPU under the hood of our devices, only that it got extra memory bandwidth and extra clock to perform better (and also a HD screen that will eat-up some of this extra performance)... But I believe, at least as far as my own experience goes, that it is a decent performer, altough there are better alternatives as far as gaming goes (and I would believe that probably HTC One X would be the best Android gaming phone alternative as far as graphic performance is concerned right now).

Enabling Force GPU acceleration in the developer options under Settings might improve the performance of some games. Although it will might also make some games look weird.

Try 4.0.4
I've played Shadowgun and Dead Space just fine. All other casual games run great too.
MOST games runs smoother on my Tmobile Galaxy S2, compared to my Galaxy Nexus. What really bothers me is when something pops up on screen (like changing the volume) while gaming, it's really laggy. Some say it's ICS, some say it's the GPU, and some says because of the higher resolution of the Nexus.
Try playing a game like Mega Jump (free on play google), and while playing, adjust the volume. Why does it lag so much?
Cause toast notifications just aren't tweaked right. Maybe not run thru the gpu or something.
weird my epic didn't lag when swiping pages and the toast notification was on. And it has the same gpu. Same rom too cm9.

I have none of the issues you are reporting. In fact, it looks like a lot of other GN users also DON'T have that problem. I have played Dead Space, ShadowGun, BackStab, and others and they play without lag. I don't like lag and slowdown. I would not even bother playing them if there like this. ShadowGun for instance, I would not have played it as long as I have. Or got as far as I did if it was bad or lagged. Not sure why we all can play these games fine and you can't.

Benchmarking weirdness

I just want to know if anyome can explain why when running antutu benchmarks I cant even get scores equal to the score the app says I should be getting for this phone let alone better ones. Infact I often get much worse scores not even close to what it says I should be getting. Even more so Im running custom rom with overclocked kernel and its just sad. When u look to see what your device other are gettibg score wise there is like a major difference. I get like 10,000 to like 14,000. Iv tried using set cpu to make it run better with no success. And I tried using the app that came with the kernel to make it better by changing some settings and still nothing. It seems like nothibg I do can even get me scores that the phone should get as an average let alone better ones even when overclocked and such.
Sent from my Note II
Funny you should post this...
I was angonizing over my scores a month or so ago, and was not getting scores even close to what I expected.
The tests made me so mad I gave up and went stock...LOL
Benchmarks are affected by soooooo many variables within the OS, they are often considered eye wash for speed related results.
The rom you run, the kernel, modem, background processing, data, wifi....blah blah blah....LOL
You see where I'm going with this ??
Stock TW based builds always run the best for me, and give the best scores...(remember, they dont mean much really).....really
If your device runs well, gets good battery life, and you are happy with the choice in roms you have made, then dont worry about antutu, or anything else.
Raw scores are called raw for a reason, as they are base estimates of a perceived result.
True testing of a device must be done under a set of rules only a factory can measure.....IMHO, and unless the devices being tested are paired "EXACTLY" the same, then the comparisons are flawed anyway......at least thats how i see it.....g
I understand that and I know how it affects but its more of a I do notice when my phone is quick or not and the scores usually reflect that. When I had my optimus g with it running alot more crap I was gettibg betyer scores and it wasnt overclocked and all that it was just stock. So I really believe that it should be running better than its showing leaving me to believe that there is somethibg wrong with the kernel or something. I have done this with quite a few devices and there usualky a noticeable difference from stock to overclocked scores. But with this phone seems like it dosent show on this phone.
Sent from my Note II
Very possible. ..
Most reports for this quad core tell us that overclocking takes the device a bit backward in speed and performance.
I overclocked for a few weeks, and saw no appreciable performance gains.
The end result for me was a stock variant rom and a stock kernel.
I then gained transition speeds with launcher changes.
Nova launcher, with the transition speeds set to maximum is quite impressive. And graphical transitions were running best at stock speeds.
I might get flamed for this, but I would honestly say that with minor UI adjustment, and stock kernels, this device needs very little if any real change at all to achieve the best performance.
Mileage will vary, but I'm staying rooted stock with a custom launcher.
Everything else seems to drag this device down. ..g
My real main issie is with gaming on the decice I notice glitching and slowness quite often and I just feel jipped. It is quad core 2gb of ram why is it so ****. I had the optimus g and it was amazing I only went to this phone for the screen size.

It's been said that our note 2 is a bit lacking with the current GPU...although, a GPU overclock may help you the most, while leaving the CPU alone.
I've not tried any GPU modifications, unless the Roms I've used included them without my knowledge....g
I did try and overclock the gpu and I get vaired results I havent tried playing any of my graphically intense games yet so im not sure but I believe it may have slightly helped. Its too bad I had thought that the mali chip was better than the 330 thats in most high end phones now.

I dont dare say that mali is poor, but I am willing to say that it does get outshined on more than one occasion....g
Thats just too bad. Maybe the note 3 will run nicer. Although if they do indeed increase the screen size again I dont think I will be abke to handle it so for my sake I hope it stays similar in size. This phone is about as big as im going to want.

Agreed....
This device is more than big enough. And overall, I'm happy with it. The performance is adequate for most applications, and unless a user pushes it really hard, the phone just runs well.
Not superb, but well....IMHO....g

Oh I totally agree. I guess I only notice any thing because that optimus g blew me away. Considering I had previously had a htc vivid and a galaxy nexus as the best phones and so the optimus was amazing. This is more than adequate and I guess more so than the optimus as that had errors just trying to run some games. Like as if the game wasnt able to play well with the hardware. SoI more than like this phone.

You should be trading your note for the optimal g. Benchmark scores are essentially useless and you shouldn't be bothering with them.
Seems like you would be happier with your old phone.

If you liked that g....just wait until the Optimus Pro hits...LOL
It's a bit cheaper built I think, but wow...It's a runner...(so they say)
check out it's specs on google....
The note3 will need to compete directly with it, and a few other choice pieces of hardware in the next 6 months if Sammy wants to stay on top.
The improvements from the note1 to this device are staggering, I can only imagine what a note3 will run like.....g
Oh yes iv read plenty about the g pro and it does sound nice iv thought about trying to trade the note for it. But I then remember the reasons I wanted the note instead. Its the dev comunity and the work that gets done. There was the boringist stuff going on over there. And plus it seems like the samsung devices hold value better and juat plane better ui than lg. Ao I like what I have juat miss some of the faster and smoother useI got out of the optimus.

To be honest benckmarks do matter but only if you really understand them and know how to use them. Im not just someone who sees **** score or awesome scores an decides anything. But the scores do matter. If u took a droid x and ran benchmarks and got **** scores and then ran this not you would see a difference. They matter just if you choose to see it. I know many many people who try and try to convince others that benchmarks dont matter when all a benckmark is is a test of the hardware and if u use the same program on different devices you will note the different qualitys in the scores. Showing you the pieces of hardware or software mostky hardware that is better or worse. Like with the mali vs the 330. Or the quad s4 vs I forget what is in this device. Or an amd vs a intel. They show what does what best. If you know what you are doing.

I don't believe in benchmarks. I can run antutu and get xyz score, then run it again 10 seconds later and get abc score, then run it again 10 seconds late and lmn score, all to varying degrees. It's a gimmick.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
If the scores vary drastically its probably because of the background services and apps doing things. Sometimes there is less sometimes more. U either take that into account or you do it with a fresh phone with nothibg on it. Including no google account. Just sideload the app and then run the test and do it a few times they should be more similar.

Regardless of scores. .. and considering the drastically different user habits, I do believe Samsung found excellent balance in both form and function with this device.
To add more power would kill battery. And drive the device size even larger.
I do feel they have a great balance here.
The note3 should become an absolute power phone if they build from this base....IMHO....g

LG Optimus G Pro Gaming!

I think its time we start a dedicated gaming thread. Here we can discuss new game releases and how the run on OGP. Also, any issues with certain games.

Maybe you should've started?
Here, I'll go first.
Modern Combat 4 - runs great, no issues. Smooth framerate, looks great. (Note: Originally, I got MC4 free with my MOGA Pocket; that version crashed on startup. Bought from the Play store for 99 cents on sale)
CSR Racing - Looks great, has stuttering problems at the start of a race. Don't have the issue on my Note II, so could be a Snapdragon issue or 1080p issue.
Dungeon Hunter 4 - No issues. Runs smooth, decent graphics, but simple character models.
Asphalt 8 - Max gfx, no perf issues. Smooth and beautiful. Typically of Gameloft, the environment textures and reflections are low quality vs the iOS release.
EPOCH - Unity engine. Great framerate, smooth gameplay. Textures and models are a little simplistic so the GPU load is light. No issues.
Galaxy on Fire 2 HD - Re-release of Galaxy on Fire THD for all devices. Looks better than the Tegra version at max gfx setting, plays better too. No issues that I can find.
Dead trigger. Smooth on highest grafics. No issues.
Real Racing 3 highest grafics smooth no issues.
The Dark knight rises. Runs smooth on highest details. No issues.
Horn. Runs smooth on highest details. No issues.
Shadow Gun. Runs smooth on highest grafics. No issues.
Shadow Gun Deadzone. Runs smooth on highest details.
So that's my 2 cents in G Pro gaming. And yes I know I love high detail looking games. All of them are pretty sharp looking games with high details.

Real Racing 3 - plays very smooth no hiccups
Reaper: Tale of a pale swordsman - look very good, good long campaign, beautiful colors
Kingdom Rush Frontiers - Runs very smooth, very nice graphics, no stutters in mid of large battles (this game causes huge battery drain, initially CPU usage and CPU foreground time were same, maybe thy fix something in next update, I know games cause lot of battery drain but its very big to notice as compared to other games, just my 2 cents)
It's surprising to read that so many people can run games at 100% on this device. My experience with it is slightly disappointing. I've put in days running every ROM I can, testing performance per game with thermal throttling off and CPU running at maximum. In my experience:
Real Racing 3: Runs good while playing, but has some FPS stutter during race intros where the maximum amount of cars are shown on screen. Of course its terribly harsh on the eyes due to the resolution not running at a native 1920x1080. I found a workaround for this, but the game runs at a hardly playable framerate using the workaround. That's to be expected seeing as how the company was not expecting people to play the game at 1920x1080 on their android phones.
Blitz Brigade: Using optimal "not performance" graphics settings, some fps drops in outer areas of maps during online play, especially malta ruins.
Asphalt 8: Runs mostly smooth, but minor fps hiccups throughout. It can be especially noticeable in intros when the map name and map itself is panning. Paying close attention, those same hiccups happen during races, but it's hard to tell due to how fast the game is and the shaking camera. Turning CPU governer to performance (full speed) helps fix these tiny hiccups. They're not game breaking but they are there.
Crazy Taxi: Seems to run at a flat low FPS, not higher or lower. Not sure why. Feels like it runs at around 28fps the entire time.
Need for Speed Most Wanted: Fluid FPS inter-dispersed with game slowdowns.
Sine Mora: Had some bad FPS issues on release, but they've been mostly worked out in updates. There are still some FPS drops here and there.
The Room: Small FPS drops when spinning the camera at a high speed.
Modern Combat 4: Generally smooth but doesn't run at native resolution.
Most other games have run flawless for me, including: Asphalt 7, Dead Space, GTA 3 and GTA Vice City, Minecraft, Quake 14a, Quake 24a, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Shadowgun: Deadzone, Dungeon Hunter 4, and Trackmania.
Not sure if I'm just picky with my gaming, my phone has hardware problems, or I'm expecting to much from a mobile device.
I just love Street Fighter IV HD running smooth on my OG Pro!

My favs:
Angry Birds Star Wars 2 - run perfectly and fun.
Asphalt 8 - runs fluid on high and I believe in full native HD.
GTA Vice City - Lots of fun and runs perfect at highest resolution and 100% draw distance.
Minecraft PE - doesn't require to run at full. But looks so nice on our OG Pros.
Shadowgun: Dead zone - multiplayer epicness and runs perfectly.
Star Command - bought this on Humble Bundle for a dollar. Its top down RPG style game and just a blast to play.
Zombie Gunship - have been waiting for this one to hit the Android market for almost 2 years. A bit of lag when zombies explode, but other then that is runs great and loads of fun.

I bought it on my Nexus S and it showed up as incompatible on my OGP, so I sideloaded an APK from a public site. Since I have a license for it, I'm not sure if the APK was cracked or not.
All games should work on the OGP. If it shows up as incompatible, there's an xposed mod that fixes the problem. Just install xposed and check the modules section.

I agree, most of the aforementioned games don't run so smooth. I'm on stock unrooted e988 taiwanese. Core management on.

i found a graphic error on Galaxy on Fire 2 HD. everytime i use cloaking or encounter a ship that uses cloaking, the screen goes black. leaving the sensors/buttons on the screen. i am using stock ROM
Dead Space, NFS Shift, Riptide2, NOVA3!
Flashed E988 v5 rom on my F240L, above games run more smoother than on stock rom!

Core management reduces the CPU to 1.1GHz and limits it to 2 out of the 4 cores.

is this really whats happening if i enable core management?
i thought it would just disable cores if they are not needed.. then uses all 4 cores under heavy use..

Yep yep. Less cores = less battery drain. If you're gonna do some gaming, turn it off. Much better performance that way.

I dont think this is true.
I've turned on Quad Core Control, but all cores can still run when needed. System Monitor can shows this.
CPU Spy indicates that my phone still able to run at 1,7GHz, but mostly it runs at 1,1GHz.
Asphalt 8? it runs flawless in my g-pro.
running cm11.
asphalt 8 and iron man 3 both run very smooth. CSR racing has issues have to clear data to get it to load but then runs fine.
