HTC Sync, between Outlook (all versions) and Android, will only sync the first 25 characters of a street address. At work, our street address easily exceeds that. So basically, I have over 60 contacts on my phone with about half the street address that it should have-- obviously unusable data.
Is 25 characters for a street address field such a tall order???
Allow me to elaborate: I work in a business complex that has a single street address (17 chars). Then, add the building ID in the complex, and you're already up to about 25. Oh, then there's the suite number too (the S from Suite or "Ste" won't even make it into the sync).
This is a serious botch on the part of HTC. The Android OS can easily handle over 25 characters in the Street Address field. I verified by manually entering the truncated data, once the contact was added to my Evo.
Fortunately, HTC Sync will not overwrite the "full" version of the street address I have in Outlook, with the truncated one. It obviously only matches on the first 25 characters of each when it does its field comparison.
Is anyone else having this issue? And if so, what are you currently doing about it as a workaround?
Frankly, I'm surprised this hasn't gotten much attention.
Got email working, but how do I lookup the company address book?
I can access my exchange personal contacts list in People., but I want the Global ADdress book not my personal one
nevermind I figured it out (people, search, select company address book(
I think it would be cool to be able to use the gateway IP address as a variable. It would also be pretty cool to have it clickable to take you straight to it in your chosen web browser....
This way it would be easy for me to configure modems
Hi all,
Is there a decent email app out there that remembers the email addresses you have used in the past..ie that has an automatic address book and then auto completes addresses as you type them..? It would be nice to have the options for things like add all replied to addresses to address book and stuff like that.
Nearly none of my contacts have associated email addresses, just regular mobile numbers so unless I am replying to a message I dont have the email address to hand.
Thanks
