im on sky broadband and email, i have my sky email set up on my TP2
is there a way to add the email address from my pc to the relevent contacts on my TP2
i know it can be done with outlook but struggling to do it on my sky account
Does anyone know of a way that you can pick a different "from" e-mail address? I have multiple accounts, but am using Google to POP all the accounts, which I then access via Google's Microsoft Exchange with Active Sync. Whenever I reply (or send new messages), the messages are all preset with the gmail address in the From line, when I would prefer to be able to choose different addresses be entered in the From line.
I also have a Verizon WirelessSync account which also uses a single From address.
The reason I don't want multiple accounts setup in Outlook Mobile is because:
1) There's a limit of six accounts, and I have 13 e-mail accounts
2) Popping addresses every so often eats significant battery juice
TIA
I don't know if this will work for the way you are doing it, but Google Mail has a way to set a different "From" address, so that it looks like you're sending it from another account and not Google.
Go into "Settings", "Accounts and Import" and add your desired "From" address into the "Send Mail As" section.
I am aware of that option in Google, but that only applies to web-based mail. In other words, you have to be viewing your mail online via their web-based interface in order for that to work.
That's why I asked if someone knew of a way, or had a hack, to "open up" the From address field in mobile Outlook.
Hi All.
Sorry to start a new thread but I need help setting up my email accounts.
I have two; a @blueyonder address and a @live.co.uk address.
I seem to have gotten my @live.co.uk account receiving but still unable to send. My blueyonder one will do neither.
I'm using an Orange upgrade Desire and using the HTC mail app.
Please Help
hellooo
try to change SMTP server your mobile operator
If you have Orange UK operator smtp.orange.net
For example: smtp.t-zones.sk that is smtp server form Slovak T-Mobile operator
Thank You!
Thats worked but I have a new problem now
With my live.co.uk email, after receiving on the phone, I can still receive the email on my outlook.
But with my blueyonder account, once I've received an email on my phone, it no longer downloads to outlook (and vice versa).
Anything I can do?
you need to use IMAP, or set it to leave a copy on the server, otherwise once an email is downloded via POP it tends to not be available to other devices
What is Imap and how does it work?
I am leaving a copy on the server. Both HTC Desire settings and outlook settings state "Leave copy on server" and I've even checked the webmail/server- and the email is still there- unread.
As I say, seems to be working fine with my @live.co.uk address.
Also just noticed I can't send via a wifi network on either account. Not a huge deal, but strange.
Try imap4.blueyonder.co.uk for your incoming mail server address and outgoing: smtp.blueyonder.co.uk
Try checking TLS if available by selecting the security type as TLS.
Hotmail settings are here
incoming settings
protocol =pop
pop server = pop3.live.com
security type =ssl
server port =995
outgoing settings
login required =ticked
username =hotmail addy ie [email protected]m
smtp server=smtp.live.com
security type=tls
server port=587
Account name =Hotmail
Your Name =what ever you want it to display
Thanks everybody. Got everything sorted.
Still can't send from my blueyonder account via wifi but I assume thats something to do with using the orange smtp stuff.
I just got my new phone and I'm trying to log into my Google account. The phone is telling me that I can't have the word "admin" in my email address. My email address starts with "admin". What can I do about this??
Hi all,
Is there a decent email app out there that remembers the email addresses you have used in the past..ie that has an automatic address book and then auto completes addresses as you type them..? It would be nice to have the options for things like add all replied to addresses to address book and stuff like that.
Nearly none of my contacts have associated email addresses, just regular mobile numbers so unless I am replying to a message I dont have the email address to hand.
Thanks
