Flash counter always comes back!! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

OK. I noticed that I had a flash counter and I used triangle away apk.. the apk resets the flash counter back to 0 always and I would go into download mode to check and that is at 0.. but after awhile I'll check the apk not flashing anything and its back go 1 what is going on here?? Is it tricking me showing me a fake 0?? Would like other opinions on this please!
Thanks!

Flash in recovery
http://goo.im/devs/billard412/d2spr/Sprint_GS3/LI3_firmware(bootloaders).zip
Then reset
The jb firmware has changes made to it to do that that. This will downgrade your bootloaders to stop it

I flash this every time I flash new ROM?

Weird u sure its the li3 firmware Cuz it shouldn't be going up then.
Try these instead http://androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390169635556425848
You'll need odin for them

I'm running the latest JB blaze rom if that helps any

The ROM shouldn't matter its in the boot loaders. The Odin ones should def do it. Theyre lg8 I'm using them now. Says 0 and official and I'm running cm10

So your saying use mobile Odin to flash?

No it won't flash bootloaders. Says as the top inside mobile odin

Is there a thread I can read over for all these bootloaders??

Is there a thread dedicated to them no. Freeza has the posted as AIOs in his thread. But his come with a modem.
The last 5 pages or so of my stock restore and rooted odin tar thread mentions them but this isn't really an heavily discussed issue . Granted Google couldve told u that in less time than it took me to write this.

I'm just trying to gather a little more knowledge bout this "bootloader".. I flashed that zip and everything seem to be fine.. I just wanted to know what does it exactly do?? Sry noon alert! Coming from the epic touch things are little different here lol
Thanks

So just to have peace of mind I did the right thing flashing that zip right? Lol and I can go flashing ROMs without running into any problems? Sry I'm probably being stupid right now

Ya no worries it just downgrades those partitions to the ics versions and if you prefer

There's the lg8 for recovery rather than Odin

So I can flash any ROM without having any issues?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app

Yes. Those are not Rom dependent. Like i said I'm using lg8 right now with cm10. No issues. Have used them all with different roms and 0 issues to report

Thank you sir! :beer::thumbup::beer::thumbup::beer:

Odin a rom???

is there a way to install a rom using Odin??
I keep getting the SOD (sleep of death or whatever) and I want to try and install the new syndicate rom thru Odin to see if that may fix the issue.

Not unless the developer puts out a .tar of it. Usually you need to Odin a stock ROM and then you need to flash the custom ROM through Clockwork. You should Odin one of the prerooted ROMs like t853209he second one down in this thread:

Sorry, numbers got cut off:

It is possible, but none out for the epic. The devs might find it too much of a hassle to have to create and release a tar for every version of the rom, but I have seen it A LOT over at the fascinate forums.

Well I never came across one, but I'll unzip the tar file and see what I can do. But. Flashing anything that doesn't have root cooked in will unroot you.

I've never seen one, but doesn't mean it can't be done. Normally of one wants to flash back to stock it's cause something went wonky or they want to start over, so i don't think it's come up. But obtaining root again is cake, so maybe just do the Odin procedure and move forward due to the time needed to make a disable zip for stock...just my thoughts

[Q] Keep getting "Install Update" message for FL24

Hi I have a rooted Epic 4G Touch and running on the stock ROM. Ever couple of minutes I keep getting a message to update to FL24. I tried using Titanium Backup Pro to freeze System Update but it still occurs. I even tried backing it up and just uninstalling it completely and it still pops up with message. Any solution to this? I've tried fotakill too. Would installing a custom ROM remedy this issue?
yes a custom ROM with custom recovery would elimate this

Hmm maybe I should just get a custom ROM. It's still happening with FOTAKill :\. Which ROM do you have? Any issues with it? Also is there still that problem where if you wipe your data your phone will brick.

There are answers to the question you're asking. They've been asked plenty of times before.
If you grab a one-click full wipe/restore 'leak', say GB08 you will NOT be prompted.
PLEASE take some time to read, search and then read some more. Or, yes, you will brick your phone.

So just to be absolutely sure if I flash this: http://rwilco12.com/downloads.php?d...-D710)/Stock ROMs/JB/GB08/Full Restore/Rooted
On AGAT v0.2.2 recovery FI27 it should be okay right? And I just go into download mode and click start. Sorry I do look at the threads but I get confused at times and am kind of paranoid since bricking my last phone.

When you are flashing a full rom, it doesn't matter what recovery you are on. You flash a .tar.md5 using odin/mobile odin.

If you're not worried about data loss but don't want root, I'd download the Odin flashable 100% stock MDL tar from this thread.... and obviously flash via Odin. That would leave you at 100% stock state with the latest T-Mobile MDL firmware.
If you plan on rooting and flashing custom stuff anyway, just follow this guide. After that, you'll have root and a custom recovery from which you could flash any of the modified/stock TouchWiz ROMs or CyanogenMod or whatever other ROMs you wish.

For warranty there haven't been reports of denial, but don't know about trading it in.. I don't think they will check though
Why not just factory reset? Probably the easiest way if you just want stock.
