I know i'm not at the right section but no one could help me at the Q&A section.
Xperia Play Won't boot.
I bought Asphalt 7. Was downloading and installing the game when suddenly it kind of crashed. It booted again but the screen became all glitchy. Opened the phone and saw that the flex cable died so I replaced it and booted but it didn't boot at all. When pressing the on button the phone vibrates but no screen.
Allready flashed .ftf file and updated with SEUS so the device is in stock state but it doens't boot. When pressing the on button the phone vibrates but no screen.
Help me please
Maybe your flex cable isn't plugged in properly.
Have tried many times but thanx

I think you are right. I had still guarantee on that thing so I sent it to Sony via Mediamarkt. Do you think they can make it ?

i know the title seems a bit off but anyway my xperia play has been sent off to be repaired twice and if it breaks again i get a new handset of the same value but my warranty goes in December but the phone speakers weren't working the other day when i went to bring it down to the shop halfway the sound works again is there anyway to make it look like it was a manufacturer fault within the phone ?
You can try to flash your boot loader and "fail" then the phone won't turn on and the LED will flash red till the BL is back

You could try sliding the gamepad up and down vigorously and hope the flex cable goes wierd. I got mine repaired that way
Install YouTube and leave that open with the charger plugged in. I fell asleep once and my phone got unbearably hot.

Yeah, maybe try to get the phone really hot and see what happens.
Do a factory reset and pull out the battery during the process haha.

Doesn't a factory reset just reset userdata? So wouldn't you just be able to do another factory reset to fix any issues that may arise from the failed reset?
Throw into water and watch it swim.

Ignore the fixable stuff!!
Leave YouTube on whilst having your charger connected. You can fry an egg on the result.

Best way, place under a vehicle and crush it
Flash an xperia arc kernel.
My flex cable had recently broke, and I bought a replacement. I replaced the broken cable with the new one, and it worked perfectly. After a few weeks, the display started to act up again, so I opened it up, and tried to fix it. The cable broke again (idk how lol) and I had to replace it once.again. I did so, and nothing will show up on the screen. Not even those weird white lines and pixels al over the screen.
Would the problem be the connection to the motherboard, it the LCD itself? Thanks

Maybe your they're exposed or broken wires in your cord which may disrupt the connection. This seems like a probable conclusion because you're phone charges with other cables. Make sure however, the wall port is not assert fault first though

Did you even try changing the firmware?
Besides, ALWAYS restore stock firmware and lock bootloader when sending phone to repair.
Well topic says it all. I have a phone that has a busted port. I tried to one click restore back to stock when the port died so not only does it have a bad port it failed during flashing so it can't even boot up. What options do I have?

Questions go in Q & A forums.
How do you know port is bad?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Depends on where in the process the flash failed, it could be hardbricked or may need to be jtagged to rewrite the bootloader. If it won't boot into download or recovery mode and only has a solid blue led then its toast. Otherwise with a bad port and no OS you dont have many options. I honestly dont even think there's a way to flash something from stock recovery without a USB port or OS to move the zip into cache so stock recovery can flash it. And the only other option is Odin which again without a working USB won't do you any good. And like blues said questions go in Q&A you know Q(uestions)&A(nswers)

Sorry about wrong forum.
The phone can go into recovery and download mode. I am assuming the port is broke BC I can't charge the battery through it and the computer doesn't recognize the phone when plugged in and in download mode.
This is what I feared! So phone is pretty much a paperweight. Arg...

Well I take it back, I think only a couple pins in the port is broken BC I can use the USB jig to get the phone into download mode. So the port is not completely broken. I don't know what pins are used for whatever process but charging and data sync no gooo. I have tried several dif cables including the Samsung one and a blackberry one.

Tried a different usb cable? Maybe the male pins are borked. I had one that got slightly bent and it wouldn't charge for sh*t but would let me transfer files just fine go figure

Well then you are screwed. Good luck getting a new phone if $40 is too much to send it out, get it fixed and have it back where you can flash it all day long.

To fix this, you need to desolder the USB-port from the mainboard and solder a new onto the mainboard. This is very hard to do if you haven't soldered a lot before, and it requires a lot of flux.
Just replace the mainboard, order a cheap Arc S from ebay with cracked screen and swap the mainboard.
