I'm on stocked JB 4.1 with root active. I had installed some apps, like app2sd, busybox and airdroid. Just after this I did a reboot into recovery then
1) clear cache
2) clear daviak cache,
3) clear battery stats
4) fix permissions
5) reboot into system.
Just after following the above process my note 2 keeps on rebooting from Samsung N7100 boot logo to homescreen for (2 sec) and then again reboot.
I can't find a way to understand what went wrong please someone help me.
Sorry I'm not posting this message for any help but I can confirm that 'fix permissions' option is the culprit here. Some days back I did the same and the device went to reboot loop. Had to made a full wipe.
Whatever, I'm not gonna touch that option again. I hate my phone this way, some kids do like problems however.

Hello,
i just installed the Jedi Mind Trick and observing a few issues:
a. when i "power button" -> "reboot" in the Jedi Mind Trick 9, phone shutsdown. Is there something i need to change to enable reboot?
b. when the phone is "shutdown" thru the Jedi menu , in the dark i can see that the display is still on - back lit is on.
c. It doesn't charge unless the phone is booted.
d. The screen doesn't time out when "i leave it be " after specified ( 1 minute) amount of time.
Would appreciate any help.
Thank you
Some people have had problems...with the phone hanging up when you go to reboot or shut down flash this and it should fix the problem.
BOOT INTO RECOVERY AND FLASH THIS------->> IT WILL NOT DELETE OR DO ANYTHING TO YOUR ROM.
As it says "This should hopefully fix that damn ICS reboot hang issue once and for all." http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477955
PLEASE BE SURE TO FLASH THE CACHE WIPE NOT THE SUPER WIPE!!!! :good::good::good:

precisely - SUPER wipe was causing the bootloop.
I ended up going to TWRP2 and after 2 attempts it started to work as it suppose to.
Question is closed as resolved. Thank you!
I have been running jedi master x2 on my devise since i got it a few months back. I had a few issues with apps having unfortunately (random app) has stopped errors so I decided to re flash with full wipe and completely clean install. Now after I reboot it gets stuck on the Samsung note2 splash screen and I have to do a full wipe and fix root in order to get it to boot again, only to have to do the same after a reboot? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Please bare with me, I'm trying to think of every possible detail for anyone to help me with this....
My brother gave me his Note 2 to "fix" because it was stuck in a boot loop and would randomly freeze. It was 100% stock, unrooted and less than a year old. The problem started when the phone auto-updated to 4.4.2. After investigating and tinkering around, I got it out of the boot loop (I just wiped the cache). Upon reboot, the phone would function normally for up to 90 seconds (approx) then freeze. The only way to unfreeze was to battery pull, holding the power button down didn't work. After repeating the reboot process several times I realized that each time it attempted to do a system update. I looked for a way to disable the auto-update feature and was unable to find it.
My next thought went to rooting and flashing a custom ROM. After all, if the problem was with the stock, flashing would fix that. I have rooted, installed philz recovery and flashed the Alliance ROM. I wiped all cache and booted her up. To my dismay, it's still freezing. I've gotten past the boot screen and am now freezing in different places on the "android is upgrading" screen. Each freeze causes me to have to battery pull and start over.
I am out of ideas. I would like to be able to fix this phone and put service on it. Thank you in advance for all help!

Make sure you are using philz recovery (6.07.9 recommended). You will need to wipe the internal sdcard. Go under mounts option and select wipe /data /data/media option then go to reboot menu and reboot recovery. Now install rom and see how if that works.

Thank you!
I wiped the internal SD. That enabled me to format the phone then install the Liquid Smooth ROM. So far so good. It's been 48 hours with no problems.
Thanks again for your help!
NOTE: This device is not mine, it belongs to my girlfriend and I am the one troubleshooting for her.
here goes:
Yesterday, while a friend of my girlfriend's was playing with her Galaxy Nexus (my GF's), it suddenly rebooted itself without warning.
From what I understand, Nexus bootloops that are caused by faulty flashing usually loops at the "Google" logo (correct me if I'm wrong). Her's is a different story, her Galaxy Nexus is pure stock, locked bootloader, un-rooted and definitely nothing custom on in; literally pure stock. Instead of looping at the "Google" logo, her GNexus loops at the "X" logo, my assumption is that there is something, maybe a rogue app, that is causing her device to bootloop upon reaching startup phase.
I know this isn't a software/ROM level issue since we were able to get to her lockscreen a few times and then the phone reboots after a few seconds. I've tried wiping cache but didn't work, and she won't let me try wipe data/factory reset because she has a lot of important files on her phone. So odin flashing and wipe data/factory reset is out of the question.
so here are some details that might be of interest:
1.) Her phone is not rooted and is pure stock android 4.1.2
2.) does not have custom recovery
3.) does not have usb debugging enabled (not sure, but I assume it's not enabled)
4.) can still boot to fastboot/recovery/download mode
5.) reboots at the X logo
So the basic troubleshooting methods are out, now I'm thinking of using adb pull to extract files from her phone via adb, but problem is, usb debugging is off! Is there any way of recovering her files at least without booting to the ROM itself so I can flash another version of android on it (via odin)?
I've also read about "safe mode" that boots the device without starting up 3rd party apps, only the core essentials. I'd like to go down that route if possible, but we've tried most of the guides on how to boot into safe mode but to no avail. There was one time though that the device booted up and she managed to: open power menu > hold power off > reboot to safe mode, but nothing happened, it just rebooted only to get stuck at the X again.
I may be overthinking this, so I've turned to XDA for help. I know you guys don't like people asking n00bish queries but I've exhausted everything I can think of and I'd like to try everything before I go down the route where I can possibly do even more damage.
I really need help with this, anyone have any ideas? We'd really appreciate it!
Unlock, flash custom recovery, wipe system, data, cache, dalvik cache and flash 4.3 factory image. Problem solved.
Some weird crap happened on my phone and couldn't install any apps through Playstore and keep getting 504 error. Did all the things I could do like delete cache from Play Store and Remove and reapply my accounts. Still nothing happened.
Uninstalled my Google Play Store updates and now it doesn't want to install anything even through third party apk. When I restarted the phone and did another dalvik/cache wipe my phone's softbricked and stuck at the logo.
I just want to go back to Stock. It's been a since I've done some flashing. Can anyone help me out with this? Would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
If you're planning to go stock from scratch, as in, delete everything, just follow this guide:

Have you deleted the apps cache?

I mean, I know you already deleted the cache from play store but you just need to do the following in my opinion, it has helped me alot (before you flash your phone):
1. Turn off your phone
2. Press and hold Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons. Wait until the phone vibrates and you see the Samsung logo.
3. Wait until you see the recovery screen
4. Scroll down with the Volume Down button to the Wipe Cache Partition (NOT WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET)
5. Press the Power button to select
6. Scroll up with the Volume Up button to Reboot System Now
It is said that this resolves 90% of your problems. I know it has saved me a few times from having to re-install my system or flash...
Hope this helps!!
