The youtube app will open and I can play a video, but it will not stream. I get 30 mbs down and 5 up. Netflix and TWC TV app stream fine in hd but not youtube. And also my downloads from the market r awfully slow but if i download the same app from amazon app store the app downloads in seconds. Not sure if that is related to youtube issue but those 2 r the slowest data wise on wifi.

I have an issue where it won't play a whole video. At least most of the time. It'll get maybe half way through the video and then it's like the buffering just stopped so there's nothing else to play. Anymore I just open all YouTube links in Dolphin.

i once had the same issue and for youtube to be able to play videos. i had to factory reset it and install calks rom again. hope this helped.

Even after doing this my youtube videos on low quality still take 45 seconds to load and then it still buffers all the way through the video. If I try to load a video in HD, i have to leave it in the same spot and wait about 3-5 mins for it to start playing. Im in phoneix az where there is no 4G, and my 3G is about .40mbps most of the time.
Came across this after trying out the app "Streamster" that app streams from Justin.TV and needs flash to work..no full screen ads showed..ugly interface ..but it worked.
Fast forward to this new app I found "MovieTube" it doesn't actually host any movies ..but it does link you to them to watch and stream from....YouTube works great and quality on most are good and you get full screen and no ads.
With the limited storage on the Nexus this is a nice option. Again the app is called "MovieTube" and its free and on the play store by the Dev name of "Screen&Shout"

Thanks for heads up. I'm assuming that it's legal too as it's on Play store?

The app doesn't actually host any movies it just redirects you to users on YouTube who uploaded it.

So the video on http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1891#root plays automatically in the background whenever you get to the Samsung Galaxy Note II landing page. Is it possible to stop this from loading until I press play? Or I figured it was code on the page telling it to load that video and play automatically.
Seeing as how alot of us are using tethering already anyway on our phones, it takes up quite a bit of bandwidth that we ALL KNOW Sprint doesn't have to spare.
I have adblock already.

I am not experiencing what the OP is describing. The video does not auto play for me.
Go into your phone's browser settings, find Plugins and set them to Click to Play or Disabled etc.

This is on a full desktop browser guys. Not mobile.
I've never had this happen, not on any of the four separate computers I use (at a minimum) every day.

Chrome, almost exclusively, FF on a random occasion. Two of the computers have Chrome (and all ad-on/settings/b-marks) synced. The other, shared workstation...
Try Chrome in incognito mode, make sure it's not a sh1tty extention.

I have this happen all the time. I use Chrome. I haven't figured out how to stop it, but I know it's Youtube video, and somewhere in my settings, Chrome automatically starts any Youtube video. I noticed the YouTube thing on other sites. I just haven't been able to find the Youtube video on the landing page, but I do know the video playing is from YouTube because I have watched it on YouTube.
So it's A Chrome thing then... Simple enough.

Hello, I have a note 2 n7100. I used to have 4.1.2. Flashed 4.3. Everything went well. One thing that's bothering me is the youtube app video quality is low even when I choose HQ. It gets better but it's pixilated. On 4.1.2 it was basically hd. Has anyone else experience the same problem? I can't figure out what it is. The rom?. Or a setting somewhere? Could a custom kernel effect it somehow? Any tips or advice appreciated.

Are you on 3G? Because usually the app switches to HQ rather than HD only on 3G.
Also there is an app called Viral .. It let's you choose whatever quality you want, its kinda good, you may want to try it
Thanks, i guess i had a modded youtube app before where it would automatically play hd in 3g. Noe it only has hd option on wifi only. The only solution i foind is the OG youtube downloader. Where you can choose what quality you want when on 3g. But it doesnt have an auto option to go to highest quality when on 3g. Ill check out that viral app. Thanks.

Actually most of the roms have youtube apk as system app and those apks are a little modified for better performance!
If u have system youtube apk then you can remove it by using root uninstaller from play store(needs root).
And reinstall youtube from play store!

Folks, what is your impression, how well Netflix app is working on the S 10.5 ?
Peter
Runs great for me. Movies look awesome deep black even with brightness turned all the way up.

As I said in a previous thread . Youtube and Netflix have been optimized for this device. So the picture is going to be amazing. It's other streaming and video services that may suffer. Such as my Xfinity Go App and Crackle and other streaming services. . Anything dark or black gets extreme Pixelation and ghosting. It's horrible
Did you download the app from the app store or from the Netflix web site?
