Is there an option somewhere in the settings menu to hear a sound when typing? Is it not an option on the Note2? I haven't seen mention of this on the forums. Anyone else notice this, mine is turned off and I can't find a way to enable it.

Yeah, I found it and it's ticked, still not working. I purchased my device barely used for a few days from a member here and it came rooted. I am downloading the factory image to flash it back to bone stock using Odin. Hopefully, it works after reflashing stock ROM. I love the phone and I can live without the sound when typing but I would like it back.
might sound dumb to mention...but is the phone on vibrate or silent? that's happened to me on occasion

Nope, I checked everything, I reflashed back to bone stock, started from scratch and got it working again. I rooted and installed cwm recovery and it's working like a charm.

When I installed cleangb or I think any other rom for that matter the vibration works fine.
then at some point i turned it off, installed Zedge and even though i turn the vibration back on for messages and ring tones it just doesn't vibrate. this is for my epic4g of course.
anyone have any ideas?
Did you turn it on in the messaging app?

ok originally it sounded like it wasn't vibrating at all which is what happened to my wife's phone.
To start, my GS3 was rooted, had a custom recovery, but was still on stock Rom. I followed QBKing77 video today on manually installing the JB rom. I put stock recovery back on, then applied the update. It flashed just fine. I was still rooted after the flash (wasnt sure if I was supposed to be still rooted). Anyway, phone worked for a good 4 hours, checked everything out and everything worked just fine. Suddenly, the phone is frozen now. It is not responding to touch and is vibrating as if it is having a problem. Cant even unlock it. If I slide my finger on it, this green box highlights things on my homescreen. Everytime I slide my finger on it, it toggles through some of the items on my homescreen (sprint, then the clock/weather widget, then each of the short cuts on the lock screen) then starts over again. Each time it vibrates as well. Cant unlock the phone and I am just stuck...HELP PLEASE???
Never heard of that one before. Pull the battery and reboot?

Yes I did this, restarted phone and it goes right back to the same situation everytime. Frozen...
Not sure what to try. Maybe get into recovery and clear the caches.

Pulled battery, went into stock recovery, cleared cache partition, rebooted, same problem....
Reflash custom recovery and flash the jb rom listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904099
Not saying itll work for sure but figure its worth a shot and will reset your count too

I was going to try to unroot and odin back to stock ICS using the tar file... Thoughts? I figured regardless of what I am on, I can always go back to true stock by odin-ing back using the stock tar... right?
ya that works too
I figured it out now, for some reason, in settings, accessibility, "talk back" was on, this caused the entire phone to not respond act semi frozen... I somehow got into settings by trying all sorts of things (swiping, double tapping, pinch to zooming, etc), and was able to turn it off...now the phone is fine. I am not sure why talk back would completely change everything and freeze the entire phone up. But I would not select that feature and turn it on...the phone literally felt unusable. I was 5 min away from odin-ing back to stock tar before I found this issue...
I would say skip the bs and just Odin back to stock. If this doesn't fix it, it's beyond software.

I know its been reported with jelly bean that the screen is unable to turn off normally and you have to push the power button to turn it off. Currently the only fix I know of is a reboot. Anyone with any other tips??
Mine works fine, did you flash any mods or some kind of lock screen app?

Yes, I'm on Wicked Sensations v1.2 right now. But i've read that a few people have been having this issue with JB. I just started using XDA so I can't post on the OP yet so thats why I posted here. Was just hoping for some feedback and opinions. I have flashed a few mods on it, but none seem to be the problem...i dont think. haha

Is it set to 10 minutes? Cause that would do it

Yeah that was the first setting I tried, changed it to 15 sec to see if it works and it still stayed awake
Thanks!

haha I got tired of guessing what 'could' be causing the problem so I did a clean wipe and flash and it hasn't happened since
Thanks

I thought that may be been the culprit but the setting was off
Thanks
I'm having the same problem
I am not rooted and running stock jelly bean (ota version that I installed early because I was too impatient for them to push it to my phone). I have noticed my screen randomly staying on, too. It's very annoying because sometimes I don't notice until my battery is dead. A reboot fixes it temporarily, but I'd love a permanent fix if anyone has any additional ideas! Thanks! I've tried all the obvious settings, but can't figure it out. Is there an app that can help me figure out what the culprit might be?
(And can I just say, an edit to a post ought not fall under the "wait five minute" rule for new posters. Just my two cents .)

Use an app called Stay Awake. Works great for me.
Hi I had recently flashed the root66 stock firmware with root onto my phone then I flashed it to paranoidandroid, like I had on my old samsung vibrant. I decided I liked the features of stock better so I flashed back to stock root66 jb 4.1.1 using odin. Everything seems to be fine and back to normal except now I dont have amy voice command capabilities such as, saying "accept" to answer a phonecall, saying "snooze" to snooze my alarm, or saying "cheese" to take a photo.
Can anyone tell me why I lost these features? If it's stock firmware shouldn't these features still be there?
Check in Svoice settings. See if you can get it working there.

I have a S3 I747 the heres my problem is the phone most of the time will not go into sleep mode and not time out the screen and lock up and some times the phone will just lock up while using it. I have to hit the power button to turn the screen off and hit it again to get things to work at times I got to reset the phone to get going like some apps my just not load so resetting the phone is the only option and the app works fine any advise.

Are you on stock ? If so then just do as stated above. If you are rooted, we might need more info.
I installed several roms full wipe and still same thing some roms worst then others but over all same thing
Tried using different scheduler/governor?
Also, are you doing anything specific when it locks up? Any app being used?

Edit: Check your PM.
