When I installed cleangb or I think any other rom for that matter the vibration works fine.
then at some point i turned it off, installed Zedge and even though i turn the vibration back on for messages and ring tones it just doesn't vibrate. this is for my epic4g of course.
anyone have any ideas?
Did you turn it on in the messaging app?

My notification led does not come on when charging. Also it doesn't come on when i receives txts or emails. I know the light works because i went into the test menu and they worked there.
PS. I also cant charge while the phone is off. When a cable is plugged in the phone automatically boots up instead of showing the battery charging screen.
Can somebody help me out?

Are you on a custom ROM? If so try to Odin back to EC05 and see if that makes them work again. It may have been a bad flash.

Im on the stock ICS leak and every now and then my notifications dont ring, calls make no sound , no text sounds no nothing, is there any fix for this?
Either it's on silent, or reboot. I have had issues where my notifications does not vibrate when receiving a text message, but rebooting did the trick.

Yes
Noticed the same problem 2 days ago. It seems, that at some moment phone deep-sleeps, and does not show anything, at the same time, if you try to call it - you hear the tone that nobody picks up, so the phone part seems to be awake.
Also, when you turn it on, the alarm icon and the network signal in status bar flash rapidly, like its trying to show everything i missed. Thats very strange. :crying:

Someone somewhere suggested installing a kernel (like ardatdat) or a rom that has a kernel with it (like dman's or osimood) then trying the stock rom from sammobile.com with oden.
best of luck!

When I tried to do that back to stock I just get stuck at the start up screen asking me to press the android and then the Google services do not respond. You get stuck in a loop of force close after touching the android,
Is there a reason that my touch sounds would randomly turn themselves on? It happens randomly throughout the day. Could it be cause from rooting flashing restoring or any of that good stuff?

Its a bug in some of the custom roms. I believe someone said it was caused by having the camera mute on and switching to video mode.

I'm not on a custom ROM though. I'm on the stock ROM that came with the phone.

Idk either. It might be a glitch in the latest OTA kind of like what happened with the WiFi bug on the OGEvo with 4.67 and up where it would randomly disconnect. I know JB is coming soon so hopefully something that they do will magically fix it, lol.
yup, the touch sound comes on whenever I reboot the phone. Fortunately I rarely reboot, like maybe twice a week.
I'm on stock rooted LG8
To start, my GS3 was rooted, had a custom recovery, but was still on stock Rom. I followed QBKing77 video today on manually installing the JB rom. I put stock recovery back on, then applied the update. It flashed just fine. I was still rooted after the flash (wasnt sure if I was supposed to be still rooted). Anyway, phone worked for a good 4 hours, checked everything out and everything worked just fine. Suddenly, the phone is frozen now. It is not responding to touch and is vibrating as if it is having a problem. Cant even unlock it. If I slide my finger on it, this green box highlights things on my homescreen. Everytime I slide my finger on it, it toggles through some of the items on my homescreen (sprint, then the clock/weather widget, then each of the short cuts on the lock screen) then starts over again. Each time it vibrates as well. Cant unlock the phone and I am just stuck...HELP PLEASE???
Never heard of that one before. Pull the battery and reboot?

Yes I did this, restarted phone and it goes right back to the same situation everytime. Frozen...
Not sure what to try. Maybe get into recovery and clear the caches.

Reflash custom recovery and flash the jb rom listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904099
Not saying itll work for sure but figure its worth a shot and will reset your count too

I was going to try to unroot and odin back to stock ICS using the tar file... Thoughts? I figured regardless of what I am on, I can always go back to true stock by odin-ing back using the stock tar... right?
ya that works too
I figured it out now, for some reason, in settings, accessibility, "talk back" was on, this caused the entire phone to not respond act semi frozen... I somehow got into settings by trying all sorts of things (swiping, double tapping, pinch to zooming, etc), and was able to turn it off...now the phone is fine. I am not sure why talk back would completely change everything and freeze the entire phone up. But I would not select that feature and turn it on...the phone literally felt unusable. I was 5 min away from odin-ing back to stock tar before I found this issue...
I would say skip the bs and just Odin back to stock. If this doesn't fix it, it's beyond software.

Is there an option somewhere in the settings menu to hear a sound when typing? Is it not an option on the Note2? I haven't seen mention of this on the forums. Anyone else notice this, mine is turned off and I can't find a way to enable it.

Yeah, I found it and it's ticked, still not working. I purchased my device barely used for a few days from a member here and it came rooted. I am downloading the factory image to flash it back to bone stock using Odin. Hopefully, it works after reflashing stock ROM. I love the phone and I can live without the sound when typing but I would like it back.
might sound dumb to mention...but is the phone on vibrate or silent? that's happened to me on occasion

Nope, I checked everything, I reflashed back to bone stock, started from scratch and got it working again. I rooted and installed cwm recovery and it's working like a charm.
