So I managed to Brick my sprint version of the galaxy s3. Like an idiot I overlooked a rom and used the i9300 version instead of my model version(nood move). Anyway I can't turn my phone on AT ALL!! I tried putting in into download and recovery and I get nothing. How do i fix this?? Anyone???
If u can't get download mode or recovery than there is no help. Maybe a jig if u have one but I'm not sure if they even work for the s3.

I thought I hard brick my sons phone and here is what I did: Worth a try at this point.
Take battery out and do NOT put it back in. Take SD card out. Plug phone into computer and attempt download mode. Mine booted right up with this method when it wouldn't with anything else. If it does flash the stock rom through Odin right away and you are good to go.

I just tried that and no luck. sounds like u soft bricked it. I can't get it to turn on period. The only thing that turns on is the lcd light but only for 10 seconds then shuts off. Thanks for the help though!
If your getting a light, even temporary, I'd boot a tinycore Linux and see what mode its in for that 10 seconds

Do you get a screen at all? You say you're softbricked but you also say it doesnt start up. If you are really just softbricked then you have a screen too, in which case you'll just look like an ass going to sprint because they will see you fuucked with it and laugh you out the store. If you are hardbricked then you would have just a black screen. If you have a screen, do some reading like you shouldve done in the first place and fix it yourself.

Mine was hard bricked and it couldn't be turned on period. If yours is soft brick then you should be able to get it back into download mode but you can't get it to turn on at all, then you have a hard brick. I went to sprint and got a brand new one because they couldn't fix it either. So unless they can fix it you will have to get a new one!
Also Hard Bricked.

Hi please follow these steps
1 download stock firmware below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737859
2 download clock work mod (CWM-Recovery-LTE-SGS3-Sprint-v5.zip) below

I think you may have flashed your Sprint GS3 with an international GSM GS3 ROM. I think you are not going to be able to recover from that.

Really need some assistance here if someone could please help. I downloaded chainfire 3d, because i read it would speed up my game lag/speed. After install, it asked for a reboot....my phone hasnt been able to boot now, it has been stuck on the logo screen. I can get into recovery mode, i did a reset and formatted everything (which i REALLY didnt want to do), but i need my phone on asap. After all that, nothing has worked after reboot. Still stuck on logo screen, someone please give me any ideas to get this back on its really upsetting Thanks a lot, really hope someone has some ideas.

If you can still get into Download Mode you can always flash the stock rom back using the Odin tool on your PC. Use the procedure below to get into download mode:
Entering download mode is very simple. First you will need to turn off your device. Once it’s off, you need to press this button combination: volume down, power button and home button. Keep them pressed until the download mode shows up. Once you’re there, you will be requires to press volume up to enter the download mode or volume down to cancel and reboot the device.
Then follow these instructions:
If u have a custom recovery there's always this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086769
And sadly yes cf3d does not work on any device with touchwiz jellybean
What I did in that situation is first download a stock deodexed rom.
Then connect your phone with your pc and open the Odin program on your computer.
(may or may not have to install Kies)
Then flash the deodexed rom to your phone.

Do you see any missing/unknown devices in Device Manager?
If so you might just need to download an updated USB driver from Samsung's website.
I'm having this exact same issue. I hope there is someone that can help figure this out. Mine occurred while trying to reroot after the update.
---------- Post added at 12:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:21 AM ----------
If it helps, this is what I did.
After successfully rooting my husbands phone, he accidently updated. I've waited to try and do re-route it now since you've published a method of re-rooting. This was my first attempt at rooting ever and currently the phone only powers on to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 screen and doesn't go any further. Here's what happened:
On Windows 7
Opened CASUAL
Received instructions to flash root.
Using Odin I tried I605_VRALJB_Restore.tar.md5, it failed to flash so I instead flashed root66_VZW_stock_system.tar.md5.
This worked fine, proceeded with CASUAL
Flashed BAVBaseline.tar.md5.
Phone began to reset and froze at Samsung Galaxy Note 2 starter screen. Waited 5 minutes no change in the screen on the phone or on CASUAL. After 30 minutes pressed power and the buttons to get into Odin, I finally unplugged. The phone is still stuck at the start screen and isn't recognized by Odin or my computer
So you're on a Verizon GN2? Just want to make sure we're talking the same phone
Also did you pull the battery yet?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
Okay that has happened to me before.
I had to download a new stock rom and flash it via TWRP.
If you dont have TWRP Recovery mode, find a rom you can flash in normal recovery.
(To get to recovery mode, take battery out of phone, put back in and then hold "volume up, power and home button simultaneously for about 10 seconds.")
Once you have the new rom .zip file downloaded...
You have to take the SD Card out of the bricked phone and place in a different phone.
Put the different phone on the computer and put the rom on there.
When it gets copied to the ext sd, put it back into the bricked phone and proceed into recovery mode as I explained above.
You will probably have to factory reset, and then install the new rom onto the bricked phone from the ext sd card.
If you have any questions just post.
Hope it helps.

(editx2)
Just in case someone comes along like me and the above doesn't work for them.
Was getting stuck at second "Samsung" screen, could not flash rom via Odin or by recovery...couldn't even get to recovery at first.
After much round and round, here's the winning combination:
Flash stock recovery via Odin, flash twrp 2.3.1.1 (newest one with .tar file I could find) via Odin, then flash stock rom...Was that simple for me, just a lot of trial and error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I added a few build.prop tweaks to my Verizon SCH-I435 S4 mini and apparently it did not like it.
Now it will not boot past S4 mini screen.
The phone is rooted via kingo, xposed framework installed with Wanam tweaks
Everything is stock with some bloatware frozen via My backup Pro.
I did do a system dump prior to these issues, so I do have the stock build.prop
Any one know of a way to replace the build.prop?
You probably didn't give build.prop the right permissions when you replaced it. That's the worst I could think you can do if that's what you did just fix if you have access and try again.

Cant boot, Just will have to wait for firmware.
Tried everything I can.
Have you tried putting the phone is safe mode? I'm not positive it will work but its supposed to put all settings back to stock temporarily. To enter safe mode remove and reinsert battery then push and hold the volume down and power button until phone boots to the home screen. You must hold the volume and power completely through both the Verizon and Samsung boot screens otherwise the phone with try to boot as normal.

Thanks, Yes I did Still no go.
I have tried everything that I know possably even the new update and throws error "system/build.prop\" has unexpected contents".
I got a replacement through warranty so its just been a very costly mistake.
just gonna wait for firmware i Guess.
Yeah its that build.prop is it 755 permissions? I think if I had your phone I'd unbrick it. Your build.prop is what's causing it in my opinion. A brick is a completely dead device you're soft bricked it turns on? You're golden if you fix that build.prop I'd say.

Odin is pretty easy the file goes in pda. I suggest using Kies to restore your phone. Should be easy as plugging in and choosing to restore it. Soft brick? That needs to be explained more.

I figured it out. A simple Google search for "how to flash with Odin" and some careful selection did the trick.
By "soft bricked", I mean that the phone would power on and display the Samsung logo but, beyond that, it was useless.
Switching to download mode, flash stock firmware and rebuilding my settings solved it.
what?

Last night I was need of rooting my phone (at&t galaxy note II i317) using Kongo Android to get superUS and everything was going fine, I still had all my stuff, service and everything, so I decided to add a custom ROM (cm-10.1.3-tOlteatt), wiped everything and I ended up in a bad situation, I forgot to back up my phone so I lost all of my contacts, lost my service provider so I have no signal, and can't download any apps because I don't have play store. . . If anyone knows to way to help solve this PLEASE HELP ME. . . all I want to do now is find a way to uninstall all this rooted stuff and go back to my regular functioning galaxy s note II
THANK YOU FOR THE HELP IN ADVANCE

And from the sounds of it, you downloaded the wrong Rom for your phone! And it's always bad skiing stuff late when we're tired. That's when we run into problems. It's called late night flashing

Thanks for the recommendation but I've previously tried the method, but my phone always failed to download (even when it wasnt rooted) would u have any other way of solving it without having to use odin. . . my phone is currently stuck in recovery mode so any help trying to get out of it would be helpful. .thank you for your time helping me solve my issue
Put the correct ROM on your external sd card with a PC adaptor. Install the card, boot into recovery, wipe system and data, then install the correct ROM. Boot, let rhe phone settle in for a few minutes, connect to wifi, or check if the correct ROM has the at&t APN settings.

Ranger is correct, try doing what he suggested.
But not really understanding what you have tried from your post.....
Which method, and what does fail to download?
Do you mean fail to get into download mode, and you only can get into recovery?
Are you doing this to get to download mode?
Put your Note 2 in Download Mode
-First you will need to turn off your device.
-Once it’s off, you need to press this button combination: volume down, power button and home button.
-Keep them pressed until the download mode shows up.
-Once you’re there, you will be required to press volume up to enter the download mode or volume down to cancel and reboot the device.
Obviously you want to press the volume up. Now you are ready to ODIN flash.

i will be sure to try this method whenever i get my hands on an SD card adaptor. What ROM would be best to download for the correct at&t APN settings? i would look but my past luck has been failure.
Thank you for your help

i would have tried ODIN for this situation but everytime i do. It says "FAILED" how would you suggest i fix this so that my phone can use ODIN. I was going from cyanogenMod to a custom ROM, but i assume i didnt flash the old ROM and now i kinda stuck in a bootloop like it'll show the samsung intro then show the customROM emblem stays there. I've left it in that state for a whole night and it didnt change (still showing the custom ROM emblem) the only thing i can do is enter TWRP v2.6.3.1 and access my external SD.

Sorry bout that. . just tried to connect my phone to ODIN in ODIN MODE. I'll update with what happened.
Just got done trying to flash with ODIN, and it got the part where it starts to install but 4 mins. in my device was removed. I was using the PDA from sammobile.com, and now my phone is saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." i know it might be as simple as actually doing what it says but Kies will not recognize my At&t samsung galaxy note II. What would u suggest to let my laptop recognize my device??

Thank you for your time helping me with my phone issue. I took the steps you suggested, now im running custom ROM jellybean 4.1.1. and got my service provider back. If you could suggest away to get my stock program and upgrade to jellybean 4.3. I had fun with the rooted life but i make the worst mistakes.
PS. i found it to be alot easier using the other tar. in the firmware u suggested me to use. At least for At&t Samsung Galaxy Note II

So i just flashed my at&t Samsung galaxy note II with jellybean 4.1.1 using Odin ( ATT_I317UCAMA4_I317ATTAMA4) and it was going on with everything working. Then i tried to update to jellybean 4.3 after it got done installing it rebooted, and what do u know, i'm stuck in boot loop the Samsung galaxy note 2 logo, and cant access recovery mode. Also I tried the original firmware that used repeatedly, would that hurt the system. Would there be any firmwares suggested to use.

yes it updated and installed but after it installed and rebooted its in
a constant boot loop. Is this going to be a simple permanent fix?
