I'm currently using the IceColdSandwich http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450962 rom with my DHD. I'd love to use a JB rom for daily use but I cannot live without Backlight Notification anymore, it's just so useful (for those who dont know: softkeys are lit when you have a text or an anunswered call).
Why don't all roms have this feature? Is it difficult to implement? Does anyone know a JB rom that has it or at least a kernel that works with this:

I don't want to complain, just want to know how it works/ if its hard to implement, perhaps a rom cook can explain?

Title says it all...
What rom are u running?
And if u want to say why, go ahead lol
Thanks =)
There is new thread like this (what is the best/most stable/your favorite ROM) created about once or twice a week. So you can just use the search function to find a bunch of opinions without have to wait for people to reply to this one.
Personally, I'm back to Bell stock/shipped ROM with Godspeed kernel. Its the only combination I've tried so far that seems to be completely free of SODs for me (screen of death, screen randomly won't turn on no matter what, unless you pull the battery). But this seems to be a fairly uncommon issue (and not yet solved) that most people don't need to worry about. The stock ROM is also plenty stable, and the Sense camera app is better than Android stock.
Virtuous is good if you want a clean (no bloat) Sense Froyo ROM. Very stable, but not much different than stock Sense, aside from some optimizations and a few added features like trackpad button wake. Lots of people like CM7. Cool if you want the latest and greatest Gingerbread features, and CM extras. But it still has a few annoying bugs.
Mods, can this thread either be locked or merged with the other threads similar to this? Thanks.
im using meXdroidMod meXperia remeX
its just awesome, experia arc merged with cm nightly, just is fantastic
hey guys i am having a hard time finding the rom i really want it either leaves one of the features out or is too laggy. currently i am on a team-nocturnal g.b. rom. the features i want in a rom is non sense i hate sense it always resets on me. i also want a volume rocker wake option, i have tiny fingers i also want 4g i pay for it so why the hell not. and some theming options i have not yet found one the best one so far i have found is cwm however there is absolutely no theming if there is, it is not to my flavor any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Might I suggest AOSP? Perhaps Deck's? You can find different flashable themes in Evo Themes and Apps for it or download some from the Market. No Sense, has 4G, and you can find the volume rocker setting in Advanced Settings.

Don't mean to be smart-ass, but you sound too picky. Cant possibly eat the cake and have it too.
You will need to find a rom with most of your wanted features, possibly an AOSP one like cyanogenmod 7 as you dislike sense.
The theming part is comparatively easier, so find one that has all the features and apps you need. Then get one of the many themes out there for the T-mobile theme engine on the market/xda or help yourself to the UOT kitchen.
At times the ones that suit your flavour might need you to buy the dev some beer, and its worth it.
I had the cool3d aces v4 ... The LED doesn't work for incoming sms via handcent. The superuser app also run correctly...why?
Sorry for my english
why have you made 2 of the same threads?
oh sorry...i send it from my ipad and sometimes the wifi is unconnect, so i clicked 2x on the button
I have the same problem.
I am running Oxygen 2.3.1 and I haven't had the nice blue LED for the last few roms I have used.
It did work a while back, but I can't remember what ROM that was with.
Anyone know where the problem is?
I know the Desire supports the blue led, but why doesn't it work now? Is it the AOSP roms that can't control this? A kernel problem? I am running Thalamus' latest kernel for the Desire, R3.
I have an issue with a rom I'm using on my GSM Galixy Nexus, and was wondering if anyone could suggest a possible way to tweak it or if I need another rom, which one you'd recomend. I'm currently using a pretty much stock looking rom, Bugless Beast Nightly 2/12/2012 IML74K based on Android 4.0.3 The battery life is good but most importantly, the text resiszes to fit the page on the browser and you can pinch to zoom in on things. But unfortuantely, everything on the screen looks a lot blander and not very HD-like as the stock rom appeared. the colors on the stock rom that I started with were very crisp and sharp, really eye popping if I do say so myself. I don't think brightness is the issue either cause it's at it's brightest during the once beautiful bootup animation. Would changing the rom's kernel to something else fix this or do I just need to try a different rom? And if so, which one would provide me the same web surfing capabilities as this one? Using the GSM Galixy Nexus. I'd greatly appreciate whatver you're willing to tell here about this, cause as much as I want a custom rom to be good on battery life and functional, I'd also love not to ahve to sacrifice the greatness of ths AMOLED screen.
You can try this.
Hi,
Hope this is the right forum subsection to post...
Right now I'm on CM11 that I've just compiled and flashed on my GNex.
Before switching to 4.4 I ran Rasbeanjelly+Trinity. That Rom had in it's 4.2 relases (IIRC) a customization of buttons, fonts
colors, keyboard colors etc.
I'd like to try a customization of my CM11, and give it the same Rasbeanjelly blue (cyano?) theme.
So my noob question is: Where those customization have place? I suppose in the Kernel but I could be wrong.
Decompile and edit apks you want.
You might wanna wait for ParanoidAndroid to go out of beta, its HybridProperties is still under development (work on KitKat compatibility), but back in the days of JellyBean it was powerful enough to do all the features you mentioned, thus it got forked into many custom ROMs (maybe rasbeanjelly uses it also? I don't know).
