Request.Mcafee EMM block root - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Is there anyone that can look at or even solve the issue with mcafee emm being able to see your device as rooted. Or force it to see your device as un rooted. Thanks...
Edit: Well cant get usb drivers to install on work computer so im unable to root GN2 atm but I have found a workaround for mcafee EMM ;still dont have a work around for having to enter a pin/password once you set up work email for JB/GN2 .But to work around EMM just install hide my root app verified working on OG evo.

Looking for any information anyone may have for rooting this device.
Android 4.1.1 JellyBean. I've tried motochopper, previous avail methods and a few other JB specific attemps. All of which have failed, fortunately, I'm not-yet bricked.
Motochopper fails at executing the binary /data/local/tmp/pwn, giving a bus error -after- the script stops on a signal.
Code:
[email protected]:/ $ /data/local/tmp/pwn
/data/local/tmp/pwn
[+] This may take a few minutes.
[1] + Stopped (signal) /data/local/tmp/pwn
[email protected]:/ $ exit
exit
[1] + Bus error /data/local/tmp/pwn
I am on board with this as well

**BUMP** on this. This is an inexpensive decent Android phone. The camera is the only drawback but everything else is fairly decent. I am going to start looking into this, because being able to root and mod a cheap phone to have as a ready back up is essential.

Cydia Impactor. It's a one-click master-key exploit.
Wow... I can't believe this is the first time I'm hearing of this. Does the trick and then some. Looks like it's time to learn how to port since nobody seems to be taking the reigns on this one. Wish me luck!!!

Can anyone tell me where to find stock rom for avail 2 and how to flash it...
I rooted the phone but changing font made phone un-bootable...
I was wondering how to recover it ... I can access FTE mode and stock recovery but no ADB....
So far i had no luck finding stock firmware or any means on how to flash the phone
Bought this great little phone as backup to my attic which I will never part with. Have found that it is wonderful for the price. I don't use camera on any phone so that's never an issue. This phone is a quiet little secret. But impaired as more are sold its secrets will be released.

How by using Cydia Impactor helped you root the Z992? I have it as well, but have no idea how to root from start to finish in DOS(?) Then, after that, Is there a basic custom ROM that is easily attainable for use with detailed instructions?
I am fairly new to all this but been trying for about 2 years. I just never knew how to add a custom ROM or have a reliable RECOVERY after rooting, I am still unsure why I try to begin with, I guess to have a cooler phone, but its complicated, I read the threads, and there are so many terms not being throughly put to instruction decriptions. Bare with me, I am very articulate....
Can someone help me understand, even with some links to basic knowledge and full detail on what rooting, roming, and recoverying or maybe even unlocking a phone - Z992 to be in particular at the moment. thanks - helping words help others learn. Peace til next time..
Anyone know of any other rom besides the z993 for this budget phone?

THIS IS FOR WINDOWS AS I ONLY USE WINDOWS.
Cydia impactor works like a charm I have had success in rooting my z992, my fiance's z992 and my alps momo 9 3G tablet (Chinese tablet). Details on how to root using Cudi's impactor:
Download cydia impactor (just google it)
Enable USB debugging and connect to PC as media device
Plug in phone now on and unlocked
Open cydia impactor (it should say "# Drop SU.... ")
Press start or go
Wait for it to go back to where it says "# Drop SU...."
Unplug your phone (no longer need pc)
Then download superuser
Open app and scroll left to right and update su binary by clicking where it says SUPERSU 1.6.1... THEN CLICK update
Download busybox by stericson
Open busybox click install at bottom left
After completion manage apps in your phones settings menu and delete busybox. You now have root access! Enjoy.
Information on rooting, unlocking, roming, and recovering... :
Rooting will give you access to system files and functions that basic users cannot access. Like deleting apps that came preinstalled with the phone and take up a bunch of space.
Unlocking: allows you to use a different carriers service on your phone for example using straight talk in att or T-Mobile phones using their byop program sum card service.
Roming: means you can install a different Android based operating system on your phone. For example Android 2.3.4 of a att Samsung galaxy s2 on your phone instead of Android 4.1.1 or Android 4.1.2 on att avail 2.
Recovery means you have access to install any type of zip file to your phone through clockworkmod, twrp, or cynagen mod recovery to make system changes on your phone.
Did I answer all of your questions or do you need more understanding of the terms? Glad to help you!!!

There is not another rom that works on this phone because ZTE put a block on the system CPU and I recommend not trying to find another rom as you will most likely end up not having a working phone
i did all of this with no errors and everything on my phone is still normal. all i really need is the network unlock code but im sure of how to get it without waiting on at&t for 3-5 days. god i hope im in the right thread.

there is only one way of unlocking this device and unfortunately that is to call att or use the device unlock portal on their website...neither of them helped me because we are required to wait for 6 months after purchasing this device...and for this phone the manufacturer and att have a strict agreement not to allow an unlock of this phone weather you call att or use the website it will give you the same error: "The information provided does not match the information on the account." if you do manage to get it unlocked please make another post as i need mine unlocked also. i have 2 of these that need to be unlocked. I WOULD BE MORE THAN WILLING TO PM YOU MY IMEI CODES TO HAVE THEM UNLOCKED!

Hi, I am using this phone until I get my Blu Dash 4.5 back from repair. It is still locked to at&t and I am using it on Straight Talk with all updated apn settings. Does anyone know if there is a way to tether the data to other phones and/or computers? This would be really helpful. I am fully rooted but i do not have a custom recovery installed as it will not allow me to view/edit my files on my pc via data cable and that is something I need. Also if someone has a custom recovery (i.e.: cwm, twrp, cm...) that works flawlessly with this phone (at least allow me to connect to pc) or knows where i can get one it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

I got it to work with "WiFi Tether For Root Users"
Its free on the play store
by Müller, Lemons, Buxton Corporation
In WiFi Settings
Set "Change Device-Profile" to Gerneric ICS/JB(wlan0)
Set "Change Setup-Method" to Netd-Ndc(master)
Scroll down to LAN Settings
Enable MSS clamping
and
Enable Routing fix
That will enable tethering to work.

I used frame root and busy box on rails and https://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/ follow this link for an apk for a WiFi for your phone that works perfectly once you put your settings in the app..I used this on a 992 and a 993..use the apk frame root and try each exploit..you cant screw up the phone with this and you'll keep your stock recovery and rom ..I've had no bugs at all doing it this way.I also needed no unlock codes..

Towellroot error but it worked?!

Hey! I don't know what happen, but I just used towelroot to root my device D855 model, and when I pressed make it rain, it said device not supported...
I wanted to root the device, so I kept looking for another easy way to root my device, so I installed Stump root, but when I was pressing Grind, it said device already rooted...
So my device was not supported and rooted anyways? Any problem that may come with this? Already tested the root and it worked...
Help please.
Thanks

[Q] Veiw saved Wifi Key in lollipop. No Root

I'm sorry but you need root for that. Passwords are stored in file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
Afaik there is no way of rooting while having Lollipop yet.
In order to get root you first have to revert to KitKat, root, then flash a bumped rooted Lollipop rom and SuperSU. Unfortunately you will lose your passwords this way.
Info about flashing KDZ/Downgrading: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
Edit: Google accounts sync WiFi passwords I think?
I thought google would sync the passwords also.. but it doesnt seem to have done that

yeah.. I know it says that it backs up wifi passwords.. but gives you no option to restore those settings on demand. maybe itll just happen after google determines she might want those back.

Hey, I actually just discovered this yesterday after months of wondering how to achieve this. I'm on cricket (subsidiary of AT&T) so i assume this should work. Unfortunately, I can't link you directly to where I got this information because I have no clue at this point But this is what I did. Download some app that can edit your build.prop. I use Root Essentials, which you can find on XDA Labs or the Play Store. At the end of your build.prop, add the line:
net.tethering.noprovisioning=true
Save, reboot and I think you should be good, because that's all I did.

Did not work for my, are you on android 6 or 7? because I have seen this method done on 6 but heard there were issues on 7 with this method
I'm on 7.1.1 the latest PixelROM. I remember reading about an additional step after the one I told you, but there were a few comments from people saying that what I told you was all they needed for tethering to work. And that's all I did as well. I'll edit this post to add in the additional step in a bit.

Okay so same ROM as me.
Are these the additional step?
Didn't work for me though, but I also can't tell if the adb commands executed properly, screenshot attached.
. Enable developer mode (Go to Settings -> About phone, and click on the build number until the developer mode is enabled).
2. Enable USB debugging under Settings -> Developer options
3. Connect the device with a USB cable to a computer with the Android SDK platform tools installed
4. Start an adb shell: adb shell
5. In the adb shell, run these commands one by one:
settings put global tether_dun_required 0
settings put system tether_entitlement_check_state 0
reboot
I think those were it, I'm guessing it didn't work after you rebooted right?

yeah it did not, still getting the "To enable, go to att.com/mywireless or dial 611" But I know I can't just enable it because I have a grandfathered unlimited plan and they won't let you
Yea even though I'm with cricket I got the exact same message. I changed to their unlimited everything plan a few months ago and was disappointed to find out that the plan made me lose tethering But like I said I just found this fix yesterday, no idea why it isn't working for you
I had a similar problem with a dutch provider. I solved this problem by adding ,dun at the apn type.
So APN type was default,dun.
I could not turn on hotspot tethering by the quick access tiles however by settings --> more --> tethering and hotspot --> wifi hotspot it works.
Disabling hotspot mode with the quick access works well.
Try it
Unlock carrier tether permanently, No root required on all ROM types.
