I ordered it. Pending arriving before my trip I'll post a review.

too thick

Forget that fat and ugly thing. Check out the zens unit. Its cheaper too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33908013

Powermat and That Zens thing are two different induction types. Zens is Qi while Duracell Powermat is on Samsung's Induction formats.
Plus you can get Powermat chargers all day long on Amazon for under $5 and that Zens is $80.
Funny how Zens website fails to show or give specs on the cover and size.
PowerMat's has more of a Future since they have Public chargers already available while Qi only has public chargers in Japan with no word on when it will be in the US

You are correct...... And touchstone is yet another format. Sure you can get a cheap powermat mat by watching ebay/amazon. Wasnt this stuff pulled off the shelves for a reason?
Also, the case and mat together are $70. So yes, the powermat mat/case bundle is $7.95 cheaper than the zens bundle. But if you just need the case, the zens case is $7.04 cheaper.
Anyway, its ugly. See the following link of an actual user in youre other powermat thread. He says to avoid.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34086871

Just got my Powermat case. It's no thicker than any of the other shell cases. The border is made of a soft but dry rubber. It covers the buttons, and for someone who used a car without those covers it doesn't feel like you are hitting the buttons. As for hard to get on phone? It takes a little more than your usual snap but not bad.
All in all this case with the 6 dollar single pads with droid x case combo will work nicely to have on home and office.

What was pulled off the Shelf? These Powermats I'm speaking of are older models and Since P&G/Duracell bought Powermat they have relabeled the product and are part of the A4WP group which Samsung and Qualcomm Developed and now they have their standard and Duracell Teamed up with Major Names and are the Group,
Power Matters which have much more abilities with Induction and Are suppoerted by Public charging Locations like Delta Airlines, Jay Z club, Madison Square Gardens etc etc and General Motors has Powermat design Vehicle chargers for their 2013 models.
These older powermat chargers will work with the Qi and the new Chargers by Samsungs Induction Standard..
Amazon can get charger with a case to tear down for under $5 and then if you buy PM's Cover at under $28, which can be found, that's less then $35....
Zens, won't work in GMs or other cars, won't work at Starbucks, etc etc...
(AT&T, Google, Starbucks Back ‘PMA’ Wireless Power Ecosystem and Open Standard Global Leaders Join Board of the Power Matters Alliance)....
powermatters.org..............Duracellpowermat.com
So if either are a risk, which is lower risk in cost and lower risk and being a Loner???

Bestbuy has the Duracell Powermat new line of products, they prob didn't know that the label change was coming (well the useless Employee) didn't know that...lol
It looks like Target is Big on Energizer Brand so that could be it or they don't like P&G, Proctor and Gamble. Target is that way...lol

This is honestly ugly as heck. Sure if you are here you don't care about that but it's my opinion. Also it may not matter because if I were to get this I would carry it around in my book bag (I always have a book bag on) and whenever I need it just snap off my current case and put the powermat on.
This would be great for me if the guys at work would chip in for the powermat. I'm a doorman and in my building there is always an employee worming at all times. We could have the powermat on our desks and use it whenever we have to.
And anyone who has done this for work knows that 90% of the time you kill, is on your phone lol.
I will wait for some reviews.

It's not made to take off and on, it replaces the current Battery Cover and the good thing about this choice is a cheap Temporary until Samsung has eventually released their
Cover and you wouldn't be taking a chance by messing up the contacts inside the battery cover which are very easy to break off.
Plus Samsung's cover will def not have problems with NFC not working as it does with all other covers and/or mods done. Zens' doesn't mention one word about not interfering with the NFC.
That's why Verizon Galaxy S3 phones are the only models that have two sets of contacts, one for charging and other for NFC antenna ext because Qi doesn't work with the current NFC antenna..
Anybody that is using the Verizon back cover on Non-Verizon Phones, will say that NFC Doesn't work with any charging pad . (This doesn't Apply to Verizon Phones with the Verizon Charging Cover, Verizon had Samsung Design this Exclusively for them)

Just to clarify, I can't comment on Zens implementation as I not using it but the 3rd party Qi receiver pad I am using does work with NFC, so there is no basis for claiming that Qi doesn't work with NFC.

If you have a Verizon Phone and the Original Verizon Charging cover then there shouldn't be a problem with NFC because that Charging cover has the NFC antenna that contacts the extra set of contacts in the Battery compartment.
It's pretty much explains itself by Verizon being only phones with those extra contacts and Verizon Requesting to Samsung that their phones be built to work with their existing Chargers. Their are Videos on the Covers and stating that if used with other Phones besides Verizon, the NFC doesn't work.
So I take it you Have Verizon and you shouldn't have any problems with any Qi charger, That is the way that Verizon had it Planned.

Touch stone charge dock
Micro USB cable for touch stone
USB power adapter
Please read before buy.
This custom back cover will block NFC signal and cause NFC function defective.
Touchstone charge dock angle design for Palm-Pre, using on Samsung phone may not best fit, buyers can put something behind the touchstone to change the angle.
After install the module and cover, the phone may have mini gap and thicker.
Custom back cover same as original, with wireless charge function after cover install, no modify need.
New shorter pins version the cover can close perfectly.
Working with touchstone charger only.
OEM back cover not genuine Samsung.

now it starts to make some sense to buy a pre-made.....
probably over thinking this but will it charge with a phone case?
I ordered one of these two weeks ago, got it in 4 days (need to sign for the package). Sadly, one of the pins had broken off in shipping, but the seller responded in about ten minutes and has a new one in the mail already.
Product appears to be pretty well made, but the back cover they use a little dinky - the letters are inlaid in silver and one already fell out - so now I have a Samung. I plan to remove the charger circuit and stick inside my existing cover.

Mine is entirely flush (T-Mobile version).
FWIW; the circuit he uses is out of Palm devices - even says "Palm Inc" on the product. Not that there is anything wrong with that...
i'm kinda leery of how the gap pops up... could they not have used pins that are spring loaded so it actually adjusts for the different variants out there?
well taking another look on his ad... it seems just the back is 29.99... if you select it with the touchstone it's 49.99
20 bucks for something amazon has for 5... i dont think so.....

Whoever said the back sits completely flush on his galaxy s iii can you post some pictures? That is the only part of this that is making me hesitant, I don't want the back not clipping on properly.
Also does anyone know if this charging door would work with the energizer charging pad or the powermat charging pad?
it will definitly not work with the energizer mat since that's Qi technology while the touchstone uses a slightly different variation.

WOW! Anker 5600 mAh Protective Battery case combo!

Damn it! Since I don't have my S4 anymore, I keep seeing more and more of the upcoming cool new S4 accessories
... Just got this Charging Case in the mail today, so I will modify my original post with a review below.
[UPDATE]Actual Review with lots of Pictures!!!!! [/UPDATE]
This is a review of Anker High-Capacity 5600 mAh Protective Battery Case for Galaxy S4. http://www.ianker.com/product/70SMGLXS4-B4B56A/1461
I know I don't have my S4 review unit anymore, but since I have done so many other reviews of various Anker products I was offered an opportunity to review this Protective Battery Case as well. I have done a ton of other reviews from different vendors on this forum and always have in-depth hands'on analysis with description of how it works accompanied by a lot of pictures. Unfortunately, this is going to be my first review where I didn't have a chance to test it out on an actual phone, but I will do my best to give you all the glory details of the product, and hopefully more people who are using it will chime in with their comments and additional picture with phone inside of the case and other battery usage statistics.
So first of all, the capacity of 5600 mAh breaks down into 2600 mAh OEM size removable battery and 3000 mAh battery slice built into the back cover of the case. What's unique about it is adaption of a new pin-charging technology where charging battery case works through a special connection with this battery. Battery itself is a standard size slim OEM battery that can be used by itself with any case. This battery has 4 contact pins in the top left corner for mating with charging contacts inside of S4 battery cavity. In addition to that, it has 2 charging pin contacts on the front top left corner. Once battery inserted into the phone and phone inserted into the battery charging case - these 2 contacts will mate with 2 spring contacts inside of the battery case. This more then doubles the battery capacity and actually seamlessly integrates both of the batteries together into one. As a matter of fact, according to an included detailed manual, once everything is assembled your S4 battery indicator will show a total remaining charge of the combined battery unit. And when you have your micro-usb charging cable connected, both batteries will charge together.
Now about the case itself. The front cover of the case is S-view flip cover with corresponding window surrounded by a nice chrome outline, a very distinguish detail. The same chrome detail is around front speaker port as well. On the outside, the flip cover has a textured faux leather material. It also has a little magnetic flip on the side to keep the cover closed. I think its an important detail especially in situation if you drop the phone/case by accident. Keep in mind, this cover will/should protect your phone display in case of drop or when in your pocket rubbing against loose change or keys. This cover also features an auto-sleep/wake mode when you open/close it, and has all the features of S-view where you can easily answer or reject the incoming call. Inside of the cover you find a very fine felt material which is also used inside of the back cover. All the cutouts on the back are precise and will not interfere with a back speaker, camera/flash as well as everything at the top/bottom and side power/volume buttons of the phone. The back part of the case hosting additional battery is made out of a sturdy PC material that wraps around corners of your S4 for a decent drop protection. The back of the case has a black piano finish which looks great but after some use and under a light will show some fingerprints. Not that bad and actually easy to wipe, but I still have to mention it for those who are ocd about it.
In my opinion the case quality and functionality is excellent. Basically in addition to S-View functioning case with a great corner and screen protection, you are getting a bonus of spare OEM battery and additional 3000 mAh capacity. It adds exactly the same thickness as any double capacity battery and as a matter of fact has a back shape of battery cover for double thickness/capacity battery. This makes me wonder if you can use one of those honeycomb TPU cases on top of it. Just might have to modify with some custom cutouts for magnetic flip and the flip side connecting front cover to the back.
Here are the pictures.

I hope they will soon. I will ask them.
Btw, there are some batter flip covers on ebay but those connect through micro-usb port thus you loose 30% of capacity converting through 5V usb interface. I have to look closely to my S4 review pictures I did because that 2 pin connection on Anker battery case seem to align with wireless charging connector, so all 3000 mAh will go directly to charge the battery.
Actually very impressive looking. Hopefully they have different colors in the future!

Not wireless. Battery goes in phone. Back cover connects to battery through the 2 gold pins. Usb charges both simultaneously if not I would guess the main battery first then the case battery second since the electric current would go through the main first.
Looks like I found my next case. Thanks

Zerolemon without a doubt the king of triple-capacity. I'm using their 9300 mAh battery in my Note 2 since April. But its an internal battery which come with a minimum protection tpu case. We (Note 2 users) been waiting for rugged case since May, and still waiting, promised now by the end of September. This is something different because you can continue using your OEM battery and attach this on top as a backpack case for extra charging.

You are absolutely correct! I just pulled pictures of S4 I took from my original review of the phone, and wireless charging pins were to the left on the same level as flash led. In the case above those pins are way below and aligned with 2 side pins on the battery. So just like you said - battery will go in attached to the phone with its regular top corner pins, and extended battery will be attached through those two pins in the case to the side contacts on the battery. I also think that battery gonna have some smart controller built in. Charging will stop once it going to reach 3.8V and has to enable pass-through to charge external battery while monitoring it's voltage until it reaches 3.8V. Just my guess.
Just need to keep in mind, this external battery will only work with that special Anker battery to be charged. But at the same time you have a flexibility of removing extra charging case and putting back standard battery cover and your other favorite case. Also, unlike other battery cases, micro-usb port in this case will be fully accessible.
This is pretty cool.
I wish it wasn't gloss black though. That is going to look terrible in no time!
Anyone order one im really tempted to get one but id like to see actual pictures of it on the phone before I order

Looks great but I can't deal with the clip on the front cover part. My ocd would go crazy having that clip sticking out and touching me. I want something like that with out a closing clip or even a great case like the spigen sview armor without the clip on it. Any suggestions with links to reviews would be great. Also has to be white.

No, can't fold it all the way back because of battery hump. Also there is no mentioning of NFC, since I obviously can't test it either. Even if battery had NFC built in, it will not work buried under case battery.

The best car mount for Galaxy S5 - still Arkon Mobile Grip 2

As most of you know, I write hundreds of various reviews in General Accessories section of our forum/community (check out the link in my signature), so I typically being asked questions about what I found to be the best for a specific phone model or specific functionality. One question that always comes up, especially in PMs, what is the best car mount for a specific phone X or Y. I personally believe that car mount should be universal to use with any phone and any case, and with full access to all the ports, and mount option to work on a windshield or a dashboard.
With over a dozen of car mounts I reviewed recently, I have to admit Arkon Mobile Grip 2 (http://www.arkon.com/mobile-grip/) is still my top choice, currently for $19.95 including shipping on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-Windshield-Dashboard-Suction-Smartphones/dp/B00I58VAZS/). Though I have reviewed it already with my Note 2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648852), some ask me how does it look with S5. Now after getting Galaxy S5, I've been using MG2 in my wife's Highlander and still find it to be the best car mount for the phone.
It's sticky suction base mount adhesive is as strong as a cement attached to any glass or textured dashboard; works even on a slightly curved surface. The removal is clean and doesn't leave any residue, plus it's re-usable - just rinse under a water if it starts to loose it's sticky grip. The mount arm accommodates different angles with an easy adjustment, and universal ball joint allows full 360 degree rotation. The spring loaded grip is very secure and easy to operate with one hand, and it's minimalistic design keeps the back of S5 open to use even as dashcam. Obviously, there is full access to all the ports for charging, headphone/audio cable, and power/volume buttons. As a bonus, MG2 also has a screw mount for universal camera tripod attachment (love it!). Also important to note that it comes with 2-year warranty, and from my experience Arkon guys stand behind their product to take care of you even after warranty expires.
Since I know pictures worth a thousand words, here you go for your enjoyment (with more pictures you can find in my Note 2/MG2 review above).

IGG/Crowdfunding campaign that promises to deliver next month while you can pre-order now for $70 a sticky pad with wireless charging to be used with a naked phone or thin smooth surface case and using very cheap basic suction cup base? If you would suggest as an alternative to Arkon (these guys been around for 25 years) something else reputable like iOttie or iBolt, that would be a different story. But I really fail to see how it's the best car mount
Ford had been around for a 100 years and still making ****y cars. I honestly don't think Arkon is better for me.
You have to agree that microsuction surface is way cooler than brackets.

Are you Armando who reviewed it in the video?
Regarding companies and how long they been around, I didn't mean it in a way that it justifies the quality, although I can speak from a hand's on experience since I tested and compared a lot of car mounts where Arkon quality is at the top. The same way I can tell you that after reviewing hundreds of cases, UAG is at the top, or after reviewing a ton of external battery packs - nothing beats Anker. But I do have a problem with crowdfunding projects. It was "cool" back in 2012 and maybe first half of 2013. A lot of them don't live up to their promises. I trust companies that been around for awhile and actually generate sales now, rather then with promises to deliver something in the future. To stay alive in such a competitive market, you gotta be doing something right. Don't have any bad wishes for Air Dock guys, but I have a good feeling they are not going to be around for too long after they will fulfill IGG orders.
One thing I do agree, there is no universal car mount or a gadget that works the same for everybody. YMMV, and this might not be for you. So, I'm glad we have a lot of different choices. Arkon MG2 works for me after testing, reviewing, and sharing on XDA about other car mounts. Something else works better for you, and I'm glad we can have a discussion about it The sticky surface mounts never took off, remember Clingo? It was sold "as seen on TV" type of deals. I have a phone case that doesn't have a flat surface and it will not stick well to it, and I would NEVER trust my $650 phone on a sticky pad going over bumps or NJ potholes or off-road

No, I am not Armando.
Arkon didn't impress me. A car mount has to have a lot more to impress me. A car mount that just holds a phone is not enough for today's expectations.
Airdock looks great but I agree with you when it comes to crowdfunding projects. It has to be more tested with different smartphones.
Another company that I like is ProClip. I would get a car mount like this for my Note 3. (Charging cable permanently attached to holder
)

How steady is the mount? I ordered this one to use my S4 in as a dashcam/media player. The thing bounces around a lot, so the video looks like it was shot by someone with Parkinsons.

It's relatively steady as long as you tighten the mounting arm screw securely and don't have your smartphone with Zerolemon triple-capacity extended battery for additional weight, but you gotta keep in mind that your car vibration will transfer to the phone/camera. Perhaps S5 has a better camera, gotta check to see if it has anti-shake feature or something like that. With dashcam, doesn't matter which commercial car mount you use, you probably going to end up with "GoPro" effect lol!!! I wonder if they make some dash mount shock absorption beanie bags bases.
I was just asked in PM where MG279 can be purchased outside of US, since I only provided Amazon US link. Just did some digging and found it here: http://www.buybits.com/Product/1913...ash-Desk-Mount-For-Smartphones-sku-19132.aspx

How well Arkon grip the phone when it's in portrait (not sideways) mode? Would you trust it to hold your phone in a 4x4 going over sweet jumps? Or do you think the phone will eventually wiggle its way loose from the mount/clamp?
Pretty sure those microsuction cups won't hold a phone over any sweet jumps.
If you have a CD slot, this one is great.

Was looking for a decent car mount and purchased this one through Amazon based off of vectron's review. One of the best suction cup mounts I've ever used. The thing just STICKS. Works great. Holds the phone very well in either portrait or landscape mode. Excellent recommendation good sir!

I've been looking for one that has a built in charger for my S5, but I haven't been too happy with the ones that I have found. I wouldn't mind the outrageous price range of that proclip one Acaibowl suggested if it took advantage of the USB 3.0 capabilities of the S5, but it doesn't. The other ones I've found either don't have the USB 3.0 capabilities that I'm looking for or they all have bad reviews. Do you know of any that are worthwhile and have USB 3.0?
Edit: I also use an Otterbox case, I'm sure you know how big those get... If you know of one that matches what I'm looking for AND can accommodate an Otterbox, that would be an amazing bonus.
Thanks in advance.

REVIEW. Car wireless charging dash mount by AIRDOCK

I have been trying to make my own wireless dock for my Nexus 7 and LG G2, so I could just put the device in a mount and have it connect to the Bluetooth and charge without me having to plug anything in. I took a Ebay wireless desk charger and rigged it to work with one of my dash mounts but it looked awful and only charged when I got it perfect in the mount.
Then I was looking at other mounts on youtube and came across a Kickstarter company called AirDock. I ordered from the Kickstarter site and finally got the unit a few weeks ago and thought I would give a review. Be easy, this is my first review of anything.
The device has a sticky pad and 4 magnets that hold the tablet. It worked well for the Nexus 7 without a case but not with the case. But the mount came with a sticker that has 4 additional magnets in it that I attached to the back of the case and it holds it well. I have it in a Jeep Wrangler with 37" tires and has not fallen off yet.
You can buy it with a short suction cup base, a long one, or a CD mount. I am using the long one in the Jeep and it works good, has not come off yet. I bought the CD mount one for my car and it is sturdy and seems well made. It also comes in white or black.
It came with a dual output USB charger that says 1Amp and 2.1Amp but with the wireless charging I do not get anywhere near that. My Battery Widget says it is charging at 500ma ( 1/2 amp) which is enough to use the GPS, Pandora and have the screen never turn off and BARELY charge the battery. I use Tasker to automatically open Pandora when it senses wireless charging.
I will post some pictures this afternoon.
There website is http://www.theairdock.com/ I paid $45 for it on the prelaunch but it looks like they are $68 now. Pricey to me but well worth it because I have double that and 20+ hours into trying to make my own.
Please post any questions you have I will try to answer. I have emailed there support people with an issue with my LG G2 and they answered same day.
Please post some pics of your setup when you get the chance. I'm looking for something like this and it sounds like it might work well.
Oh man! Yes... Let's get some pictures on here!

Let me tell you, while I do have have the AirDock, if I ever do another car install, I will be using it. I bought and hacked up a Qi wireless charger to use and earth magnets to hold the tablet. While it does work, I've got $20ish in magnets and another 10 in a wireless charger and then the time taking the charger apart, finding placement, trying to work the magnets around the charger, make sure it all works, ect. A lot of time whereas with the AirDock, from what I see, will pretty much self align, hold the tablet in place and charge. The time saving to me alone would be worth it
Pics please
Pics please.
I am a lurker on this site. I can offer very little knowledge to rooting phones etc. but I thought I would share my experience with the AirDock. I own a Samsung Galaxy S5, the CHOETECH Qi Wireless Charger Kit from Amazon, and a Spigen Slim Armour Case. Everything works fine. S5 charges thru the case with out issue.
When I get the AirDock I quickly realized that A) the AirDock will not charge the phone and B) the AirDock will not hold the phone. I added the magnets to the inside of the Spigen case and that did not help much if at all. I contacted AirDock and was told I needed to put the magnet stickers on the outside of my case. I certainly do not want to do this and I can’t as the sticker will no longer lay flat. The sticker is not designed to be installed more than once.
On their web site is says the best option for the S5 is to use the Samsung replacement back. I ordered the Samsung replacement back from Amazon and even paid overnight shipping as I was excited about using this. This AirDock now charges and it does hold the phone, but nothing like the videos show it. It is not a strong connection at all. I tried it out in my car and it fell off twice while I was driving during lunch. Obviously this is not going to work for me.
I contacted the company and asked for a refund. I was basically told if I didn’t want to put the magnet on the outside of my phone, there is nothing they can do to resolve this and will not refund my purchase. So I had to open a Paypal dispute.
I am disappoint mostly in the fact that the item didn’t work and that the merchant had no desire in helping me. Maybe I have a defective unit - who knows. I would have liked to try another unit, but I don’t think that is possible now.
If you do not have a super smooth phone back or want to add a magnet sticker to your phone, I would suggest you look elsewhere.
Hmm..... I definitely do not want to add magnets to the phones case. That would look horrible. My case is big enough as it is. I have a Zero Lemon 10K I don't even use because it makes the device so big. Sure I can go 3-4 days but at the cost of having 5lbs in my pocket which isn't cool so even with my current case, I don't want to make it more bulky. Thanks for the feedback.

No problem. Glad I could help someone not go through what I am going thru trying to get a refund.
I love my Airdock. This is a picture of what a Nexus looks like in my car. I don't run it like this though, normally a Note 3 goes where the Nexus is.
Few things to note. If it's bright outside, Waze will slowly drain the battery, but at night, it'll slowly charge it up. If you don't run Waze, it charges my Note 3 at around 650mAh.

Doesn't the Note have a super smooth back? The S5 doesn't. And since I added the 'official' back cover as suggested, I can not longer find a case to fit the S5. I really wanted to like this, but I can't afford to have my phone falling down while I am driving.

UPDATE: the company has said I can return the unit for a refund. Hopefully everything goes smooth.
The magnet is just a sticker. I actually have one on the back of my Nexus 7 and also on the back of a case I sometimes use with it (the sticker on the back does not interfere with fitting into anything). The N7 sticks without it, but I have a Jeep with shocks that need to be replaced and when I drive over railroad tracks fast, sometimes the Nexus 7 can fall so I didn't trust it enough. But no problem no matter how rough i drive since the sticker is added. The sticker is necessary on the back of the case, otherwise it won't stick at all. It still charges through the case, but it's very particular about positioning it just right and in my experience it drains faster than it can charge when using navigation, and would not last on a 5 hour trip. But despite that, this has been by far my favorite dock for any device so far.

UPDATE: well... I sent the AirDock back to the company and they have stopped responding to emails. I had to file a PayPal dispute.
Old thread but the sticker does not have magnets in it, just metal to help it cling to the magnets in the dock. I had to use it on my G2 because my Incipio Featherlite won't stick. I may try some thin metal discs between the plastic back and rubber of the case instead.

I cut the sticker out around the buttons and where the Incipio logo would show.
I also have an s5. I have the genuine iq upgrade with back panel but haven't used it yet. I am looking for an airdock or similar solution. I could live with the sticker but just wondered if there are any other chargers out there like this or is the airdock the best option? Will it alway charge slowly? Ie 500mah. Also any links of where to buy as mobile fun is out of stock. Thanks guys
Airdock is already working on the next version, it may be better but won't be ready till April or later.

Buyer beware. Their customer service is horrible. They specifically emailed me to tell me it would work with the droid turbo and it does not. The phone sticks to the pad fine but does not charge. I repeat: Does not charge. I sent them 2 nice emails asking for support and they have completely ignored me.

LG OEM Slim Guard Qi Wireless Case

I ordered the non-Korean version of this case (Korean version reviewed here) from Expansys US:
http://www.expansys-usa.com/lg-slim-guard-case-for-lg-g3-white-262017/
The Qi wireless charging has been confirmed to be compatible with the Verizon G3, which should make it compatible with the T-Mobile and Sprint variants. I will report back once I get it.
I wanted wireless charging and only need side protection for my phones. This sounds like the perfect combination by replacing the back cover with the actual case.
Would love to know if this works when you receive it in the mail.

Be careful, I bought what I thought was the wireless circle case (there is a model with the Qi charging capabilities) only to find out that LG sells one that just snaps on t-mobile version and doesn't do any wireless charging, and just gives you the circle effect. So I guess if I cut out a piece of paper with the template I might get same effect. Just wish I had known that before wasting my money.

There are two versions of the cases. The Korean versions have a little extra space between the two pairs of connectors, the US and European versions have them closer.
I'm going with what others have stated about this particular version, but it's still a gamble.

You're not. They don't mention it, but this is the same model as the Korean version which does have Qi Wireless Charging. The European and US models have the same pins, the only one that does not is the Korean version which has the TV antenna cutout. Since this one doesn't have the cutout, I'm assuming it will work.
I haven't found anyone confirming this will work, but it's possible it is because no one seems to have this version yet. Mine hasn't shipped, and I will report back with my findings if/when I get it.
Has anyone received their slim guard case to report on whether or not it works yet? I stare at my wireless chargers at home/work and hate that I can't use them.

After a long wait, got the Slim Guard Case for the Korean model. This already included the NFC+Wireless charging sticker (the one where the 4 connections are close together without any spaces). I replaced it with the NFC+Wireless charging sticker for the US version (the one that has a gap between the 2nd and 3rd connectors).
Wireless charging does work as well as NFC. The charging pad I have is pretty small, but it does charge the phone. Just need to get a new one.
I'm assuming since the charger is pretty small, I get a notification that the phone is charging slow, although it does charge pretty fast. The only negative about the case is the extra hole they have for the antenna to accommodate the Korean version. Not really a big deal though.
Back cover with the new sticker for the US model
Charging pad (very small charging pad)
Alert that the phone is charging slowly (but still charges and charges pretty quick)
The extra hole on the case
