LG OEM Slim Guard Qi Wireless Case - T-Mobile LG G3

I ordered the non-Korean version of this case (Korean version reviewed here) from Expansys US:
http://www.expansys-usa.com/lg-slim-guard-case-for-lg-g3-white-262017/
The Qi wireless charging has been confirmed to be compatible with the Verizon G3, which should make it compatible with the T-Mobile and Sprint variants. I will report back once I get it.
I wanted wireless charging and only need side protection for my phones. This sounds like the perfect combination by replacing the back cover with the actual case.

Would love to know if this works when you receive it in the mail.

Be careful, I bought what I thought was the wireless circle case (there is a model with the Qi charging capabilities) only to find out that LG sells one that just snaps on t-mobile version and doesn't do any wireless charging, and just gives you the circle effect. So I guess if I cut out a piece of paper with the template I might get same effect. Just wish I had known that before wasting my money.

There are two versions of the cases. The Korean versions have a little extra space between the two pairs of connectors, the US and European versions have them closer.
I'm going with what others have stated about this particular version, but it's still a gamble.

Glad the price dropped, they were originally listed at above $60. Good find.
Sent from my LG-D851

Be sure to post pics and info on charging once you receive it. I kept my Tylt wireless charger and my LG wireless pad when I sold my Nexus 5 in hopes that I could get Qi charging working on the G3 as well. Hoping this will solve my issue with needing a very slim case and wireless charging.

Of course. I will update as soon as I get it and test it. I have two Nokia chargers that I used with my Nexus 5. One of them I built into my nightstand, so I'm missing using that.

I just noticed that my order is awaiting stock to be fulfilled. They don't say when they will get stock, but the shipping time on the website changed from 7 days yesterday to 6 today, so maybe it will be shipped next week.

It's the other way around.
The Korean version (F400) has the pins close together without any spaces, while the US version (TMO, Sprint, Verison) have a space between the middle pins.

Since I hate waiting, going to try and see if I can rig something up.
I've heard the Slim Guard Cases are fantastic. From the looks of it, they do look sharp.
Ordered the Korean version of the case (http://www.ebay.com/itm/291198591149)
Also ordered a new pad that has wireless charging + NFC (http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6170465908.html)
Planning to remove the original charging pad from the case and replace with the compatible one.

slim guard with qi?
I dont see where the listing in OP references any Qi compatibility. Am I missing something?

I'll be picking up both the slim hard and guard when they're finally available. Looks like they don't come with the charging mats

You're not. They don't mention it, but this is the same model as the Korean version which does have Qi Wireless Charging. The European and US models have the same pins, the only one that does not is the Korean version which has the TV antenna cutout. Since this one doesn't have the cutout, I'm assuming it will work.
I haven't found anyone confirming this will work, but it's possible it is because no one seems to have this version yet. Mine hasn't shipped, and I will report back with my findings if/when I get it.

Has anyone received their slim guard case to report on whether or not it works yet? I stare at my wireless chargers at home/work and hate that I can't use them.

After a long wait, got the Slim Guard Case for the Korean model. This already included the NFC+Wireless charging sticker (the one where the 4 connections are close together without any spaces). I replaced it with the NFC+Wireless charging sticker for the US version (the one that has a gap between the 2nd and 3rd connectors).
Wireless charging does work as well as NFC. The charging pad I have is pretty small, but it does charge the phone. Just need to get a new one.
I'm assuming since the charger is pretty small, I get a notification that the phone is charging slow, although it does charge pretty fast. The only negative about the case is the extra hole they have for the antenna to accommodate the Korean version. Not really a big deal though.
Back cover with the new sticker for the US model
Charging pad (very small charging pad)
Alert that the phone is charging slowly (but still charges and charges pretty quick)
The extra hole on the case

too thick
Forget that fat and ugly thing. Check out the zens unit. Its cheaper too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33908013
Powermat and That Zens thing are two different induction types. Zens is Qi while Duracell Powermat is on Samsung's Induction formats.
Plus you can get Powermat chargers all day long on Amazon for under $5 and that Zens is $80.
Funny how Zens website fails to show or give specs on the cover and size.
PowerMat's has more of a Future since they have Public chargers already available while Qi only has public chargers in Japan with no word on when it will be in the US
You are correct...... And touchstone is yet another format. Sure you can get a cheap powermat mat by watching ebay/amazon. Wasnt this stuff pulled off the shelves for a reason?
Also, the case and mat together are $70. So yes, the powermat mat/case bundle is $7.95 cheaper than the zens bundle. But if you just need the case, the zens case is $7.04 cheaper.
Anyway, its ugly. See the following link of an actual user in youre other powermat thread. He says to avoid.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34086871
Just got my Powermat case. It's no thicker than any of the other shell cases. The border is made of a soft but dry rubber. It covers the buttons, and for someone who used a car without those covers it doesn't feel like you are hitting the buttons. As for hard to get on phone? It takes a little more than your usual snap but not bad.
All in all this case with the 6 dollar single pads with droid x case combo will work nicely to have on home and office.

What was pulled off the Shelf? These Powermats I'm speaking of are older models and Since P&G/Duracell bought Powermat they have relabeled the product and are part of the A4WP group which Samsung and Qualcomm Developed and now they have their standard and Duracell Teamed up with Major Names and are the Group,
Power Matters which have much more abilities with Induction and Are suppoerted by Public charging Locations like Delta Airlines, Jay Z club, Madison Square Gardens etc etc and General Motors has Powermat design Vehicle chargers for their 2013 models.
These older powermat chargers will work with the Qi and the new Chargers by Samsungs Induction Standard..
Amazon can get charger with a case to tear down for under $5 and then if you buy PM's Cover at under $28, which can be found, that's less then $35....
Zens, won't work in GMs or other cars, won't work at Starbucks, etc etc...
(AT&T, Google, Starbucks Back ‘PMA’ Wireless Power Ecosystem and Open Standard Global Leaders Join Board of the Power Matters Alliance)....
powermatters.org..............Duracellpowermat.com
So if either are a risk, which is lower risk in cost and lower risk and being a Loner???

This is honestly ugly as heck. Sure if you are here you don't care about that but it's my opinion. Also it may not matter because if I were to get this I would carry it around in my book bag (I always have a book bag on) and whenever I need it just snap off my current case and put the powermat on.
This would be great for me if the guys at work would chip in for the powermat. I'm a doorman and in my building there is always an employee worming at all times. We could have the powermat on our desks and use it whenever we have to.
And anyone who has done this for work knows that 90% of the time you kill, is on your phone lol.
I will wait for some reviews.

It's not made to take off and on, it replaces the current Battery Cover and the good thing about this choice is a cheap Temporary until Samsung has eventually released their
Cover and you wouldn't be taking a chance by messing up the contacts inside the battery cover which are very easy to break off.
Plus Samsung's cover will def not have problems with NFC not working as it does with all other covers and/or mods done. Zens' doesn't mention one word about not interfering with the NFC.
That's why Verizon Galaxy S3 phones are the only models that have two sets of contacts, one for charging and other for NFC antenna ext because Qi doesn't work with the current NFC antenna..
Anybody that is using the Verizon back cover on Non-Verizon Phones, will say that NFC Doesn't work with any charging pad . (This doesn't Apply to Verizon Phones with the Verizon Charging Cover, Verizon had Samsung Design this Exclusively for them)
Just to clarify, I can't comment on Zens implementation as I not using it but the 3rd party Qi receiver pad I am using does work with NFC, so there is no basis for claiming that Qi doesn't work with NFC.

If you have a Verizon Phone and the Original Verizon Charging cover then there shouldn't be a problem with NFC because that Charging cover has the NFC antenna that contacts the extra set of contacts in the Battery compartment.
It's pretty much explains itself by Verizon being only phones with those extra contacts and Verizon Requesting to Samsung that their phones be built to work with their existing Chargers. Their are Videos on the Covers and stating that if used with other Phones besides Verizon, the NFC doesn't work.
So I take it you Have Verizon and you shouldn't have any problems with any Qi charger, That is the way that Verizon had it Planned.

Touch stone charge dock
Micro USB cable for touch stone
USB power adapter
Please read before buy.
This custom back cover will block NFC signal and cause NFC function defective.
Touchstone charge dock angle design for Palm-Pre, using on Samsung phone may not best fit, buyers can put something behind the touchstone to change the angle.
After install the module and cover, the phone may have mini gap and thicker.
Custom back cover same as original, with wireless charge function after cover install, no modify need.
New shorter pins version the cover can close perfectly.
Working with touchstone charger only.
OEM back cover not genuine Samsung.

Maxboost Google Nexus 5 Holster Combo (10USD as of 12/6) and TYLT Vu

I’ve used this forum as a source of ideas and I figured I’d give back and chime in to say, so far, I’m pleased with this case—AND it wirelessly charges with my TYLT Vu with the kickstand on! The construction of the case is not as strong as my wife’s OtterBox (she uses an iPhone—I know, boo) and the case is not as rigid as the TPU Diztronic on my legacy Galaxy Nexus, but the case has no obvious defects and also comes with a kickstand (it works, but is a bit clunky) and holster (I don’t use this though). The case has a soft-touch feel and gives a rugged/sturdy appearance. As expected, the case comes out far enough to prevent the screen from touching a table when laid face down and the buttons work fine when pressed. Also, for what it’s worth, the case I received does not have the Maxboost logo depicted in the stock photo.
I feel a got a lot for value for what I spent on this case and more information on it is at http://www.maxboostpower.com/shop/m...stand-fits-all-versions-of-google-lg-nexus-5/. I attached the stock photo to the OP just to simply make it easy for someone to get an idea of the case.

I'm thinking of buying a Nexus 5 so thanks for mentioning that the Maxboost Google Nexus 5 Holster Combo and the TYLT Vu charger are compatible as I'm thinking of buying them too.
I have a question which I hope you can answer.
I gather the Nexus 5 has the notification LED on the bottom of the phone. Can the Nexus 5 be placed in the holster upside down so that the LED can be seen if the phone isn't fully inserted into the holster?
The Nexus 5 does have a LED light on the bottom and, while I don’t use the holster, I just put it on in order to reply. While you can put it on in such a way that the LED is exposed, it’s a bit awkward and inelegant as a fair amount of the holder hangs off the other side—so this wouldn’t be my first choice—but, perhaps, one could drill a small hole in the holster over the LED so that it still shined through.
For what it’s worth, I’m still pleased with the case even after using it for over two months. Its lack of rigidity might be a slight detriment as it’s easy to slightly push it off the bottom of the phone due to the speaker and power ports, but I still feel it’s a good value.
Thanks BinkXDA for taking time to check it out and replying …. my current phone is always in a holster and the top 1/2 inch of the phone is out of the holster so I can see the LED. Maybe before I get the Nexus 5 I should wean myself off using the holster and think about getting a screen protector.
I have seen these cases since the 5 came out. And I know of a buddy of mine that has one on his GS2 and he loves it for the cost. I agree with the sentiment. My current set up is between a Spigen Neo Hybrid with a dbrand cf back on the case itself, but currently rocking the Seidio LEDGER flip case with kickstand. Like the Maxboost, both charges through on the wireless chargers fine. I have a Tylt Vu, Nexus Wireless charger, Orb, Verizon LG charging pad and Energizer Pad. For the Tylt, I can confirm that you can charge LED side up, but not sure if it will tend to overheating issues. I actually accidentally placed my phone upside down the other day and was surprised that it still charges.
Oh and for both the Spigen Neo Hybrid and Seidio LEDGER, I am using the Seidio Dilex holster for the Nexus 5. I wear office casual during the week and jeans on the weekend, so the holster is great for both uses IMO.
It looks very similar to the cases you can get on eBay for a few quid - http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=141185200829

I've read somewhere around here, perhaps in other forums as well, that the Tylt VU tends to greatly overheat the N5. This Google search will bring up some relevant results:
https://www.google.com/search?q=tyl...7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8
Not that any charger is going to get 100% great reviews and be without any problems universally, but just wanted to hip you to it for 'buyer beware's sake.

It's my firm belief that the overheating issue occurs when the user does not put the phone in the charger correctly. Meaning the coils lining up. If the coils are off, IMO, the phone then compensates and the heat generates because the coils are trying to connect with each other.
I am saying this outta my a$$ so take it as my opinion lol. But I have not had any overheating issues with the N5, but I did when I used it for my N4 running a custom rom with KK when it was first released.

FWIW, I’ve yet to have the overheating issue with this case and the Vu. Maybe the case makes me immune, maybe my Vus are less defective or maybe the Vu will fry my Nexus one day and we’ll collectively sue TYLT.

There is no “correctly.” You should be able to drop the phone on it and have it Just Work. Or are we allowing TYLT to get away with the same crap Apple did, http://www.bytemods.com/news/198/bad-signal-with-your-iphone?-wait,-youre-holding-it-wrong?

There’s an entire thread on this at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522361&page=30.
There is no “correctly.” You should be able to drop the phone on it and have it Just Work. Or are we allowing TYLT to get away with the same crap Apple did, http://www.bytemods.com/news/198/bad-signal-with-your-iphone?-wait,-youre-holding-it-wrong?

Thanks for posting this, but it’s kind of ridiculous. They should just fix their product and offer replacements to those who experience the issue. These instruction are fairly new and did not exist when I first bought the phone.

Well I got this way before the N5 so I cant complain. But explains a lot and you can either call or email them to complain as well. lol
But I have had a myriad of cases/aluminum bumpers and they ALL charged with the Tylt Vu. No issues here.
BlinkXDA do you have a screen proctector on your Nexus 5?
The screen protectors I've looked at for the Nexus 5 seem to go right up to the edge which I thought might prevent the Maxboost Google Nexus 5 Holster Combo from being attached to the phone.
kpjimmy said:
It's my firm belief that the overheating issue occurs when the user does not put the phone in the charger correctly. Meaning the coils lining up. If the coils are off, IMO, the phone then compensates and the heat generates because the coils are trying to connect with each other.
I am saying this outta my a$$ so take it as my opinion lol. But I have not had any overheating issues with the N5, but I did when I used it for my N4 running a custom rom with KK when it was first released.

Y'know, every so often the wireless charger I'm using will get my phone warm, other times it won't. I never thought about having exact placement of the coils, I'll have to be more mindful of that. Thanks for the tip!

Best skins ever usually have case optimized screen protectors. Have you looked there? I have used those on my N4 religiously.

No. I stopped bothering with them. While I’ve used them in the past on my phones, the glass nowadays is a bit better and I don’t have to worry about screen protectors affecting my ability to see the screen. I tend to take good care of my stuff and I’ve relegated myself to having a few barely visible scratches on my screen over its lifetime.
So, after a year and a half, my case got caught on something and broke—and it appears Amazon no longer has these in stock. Does anyone know of another source to get these? Cheers.

I just bought one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Ke...=Kensington+KeyFolio+Expert+Multi-Angle+Folio
It's a cheap case at $20 and the keyboard is made of cheap plastic (definitely doesn't feel as sleek as the Logitech ones). The black fabric case is also not real leather (and definitely does not feel like real leather).
BUT, the important thing is that the samsung galaxy note 10.1 (2014) edition WILL fit this case. Since the galaxy is about .07" wider than an ipad 4 (retina), you can fit (albeit tightly) your samsung note into the plastic slide holders that this case has for the ipad. (It will fit, you just have to shimmy it in carefully).
Mine just arrived this morning and i was able to pair it with my samsung without any issues. Even after the tablet screen goes blank, it seems to keep the bluetooth pairing, so I'm very happy. Only downside that I have seen is that there is no cutout for the microusb charging port (but I might take an exacto blade to it and try to make my own.)
Will be taking the case and tablet with me for the holidays and see how well it works with continued usage.

Hmm. I haven't spent a full day with my tablet on bluetooth. I do notice that if the auto-sleep functionality works, then there is minimal battery drain even if I leave bluetooth on. The issue tends to be if I have a case that doesn't fit perfectly (like the kensington one above), then the auto-wake gets triggered, making the battery drain overnight. I usually lose about 30% over 6-8 hours in that case.
I will keep a closer eye on it and report back. I've also been playing around with having an external thumb keyboard (rather than a full-blown keyboard), because those are much smaller and more convenient to carry around. I did also pick up one of the logitech external keyboards (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/tablet-keyboard-ipad) with the stand, but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep that one since the keyboard is huge (but excellent build quality) and not very portable IMHO.

Bought one from another seller. I will be getting mine tomorrow and will let you know how it goes. It took over a month to get this as the seller mentioned the first batch they received wasn't up to their standards and they resent it to the manufacturer.

As an update, I switched over to the logitech keyboard that is a separate keyboard with no case (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/tablet-keyboard-ipad). Battery drain with bluetooth on has been pretty minimal. I'm happy with the battery life - the primary drain is still going to come from the screen and not from having the BT on. I can still go several hours with the BT keyboard connected so no complaints here.

Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/ultrathin-keyboard-folio-for-samsung-galaxy-tab?crid=1242
The dimensions seem pretty close ...
I just called logitech to see if they would be coming out with a folio for our tablets, the reps gave me the typical answer unfortunately... "we don't have any information on that at this time and if we are, logitech will announce it on the site".
I will say though, something did catch my attention during the conversation. I asked if they had a folio for the Galaxy Note 10.1 and he knew EXACTLY what I was talking about, as he referred to the 2014 edition. In my opinion, that can be interpreted in 1 of 2 ways: either several people are calling and asking for it, or they really do have one in the works.
Although I'm ready to purchase a case and keyboard right now, I think I may wait until my next paycheck to see what logitech does. I'll purchase a super cheap case in the meantime though.
What do you think about this one? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00H3KM29M/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=computers or this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FJTV0PG/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=computers ?
Its seems to be 100% compatible with 10.1 2014 edition, has a good BT keyboard with case and got very nice reviews...
Its not expensive.
I am almost ready to order, just wanted to check if anyone had experience with it.

I think someone posted about this keyboard here, so i give it a shot and bought this case with keyboard. The quality is awesome. This case is basically for ipad 4 but it works fine with this tablet. fitting 99% proper. I got this for $17 usd. originally priced for $99.

Does it have a home or back button that works with the Note? Also how is the tablet screen protected from the kb once closed?

It has the home button but it doesn't work with note tablet since this keyboard is meant to be work with iPad. Last two rows touch the screen but i don't think it matters since i have a tampered glass screen protector. Also, the keys are made of very good quality, so they won't scratch the screen in my opinion. But for $17, i think for me it's a very good decent deal. I love the quality of this product.
Sorry i cant post links.. but..
youtube has currently reviews on 2 BT-keyboard cases for the SGN 10.1-2014
simple search for galaxy 10.1 2014 keyboard
or SM-p600 keyboard
should yeild the desired results..
one is a cheap plastic case sold through ebay via china that was already discussed and photoed in another keyboard thread for the 2014 here on the XDA forums.. but a video is alwyas better.
it seemed to fit just fine.. but for me left ALOT of concerns as it has a 3 tab conection to the front of the tablet to make a "half" case.. leaving the sides and back unprotected.. and while it has a slot to slide the tablet into to stand up.. this slot has 2 "teeth" to frip it.. a from experience on my kocaso m870s and a similar tablet holder with teeth.. and what the other threads pictures clearly showed.. these teeth support the FULL weight of the tablet.. and CLEARLY bend the screen/glass out of shape under the devices weight.
for most this might be a minor issue.. but for a 600$ tablet it seems a bit unwise to damage your high end device with something so poorly thought out.
the "V" stand i use now with the 2 teeth prongs holding the tablet up alsohas the issue while deformingthe screen.. causes a single screen press to register as 3-5 in various spots.. effectivly warping the screen enough that its causing false touch readings when the screen is interacted with..
this forces me to have to hold the tablet in hand and not in the pronged cradle whenever i need to actually physically interact with it.
this other case and the better build quality of the SM-p600 might cause it to be a non issue.. but what pictures i seen in the other thread still makes it an issue worth noting.
=============================
the other case listed on youtube is a full leather folio style case in assorted colors offered through amazon.
from the video allthe holes for the ports are in the right spots.. nothing is blocked.. and the keyboard is detachable and also wrapped in the leather.
honestly theres 2 reviews of this case.. and in BOTH instances the reviewers kept dropping the keyboard while it was being handled.
its meant to be held in place by a series of magnets.. but clearly not powerfull enough ones.
this leather case also seemed to more then double the thickness profile of the tablet making the entire thing look more like a notebook then a freely portable tablet.
while not a deal breaker.. for some this is an issue they best perfer to avoid.. so is clearly worth noting.
===============================
sadly from my research.. ive not found anything that stands out as the ipso-facto "GET ME" case/keyboard for the SM-p600 just yet.. but its still a new device.. and more things are comming out for it all the time.
and knowing how cheap china knock off products are.. and sadly this is what nearly all ebay and amazon items tend to be as of late..either find a decent slim case for protection and all NEEDED featured for the tablet.. and look around local stores for a cheap bluetooth keyboard seperately.. amd keep the keyboard where you do most your business.. and keep typing light using the on screen keys while elsewhere.. and stick with that.. or wait a bit longer to see if anything worth our attentions pops up stateside.

REVIEW. Car wireless charging dash mount by AIRDOCK

I have been trying to make my own wireless dock for my Nexus 7 and LG G2, so I could just put the device in a mount and have it connect to the Bluetooth and charge without me having to plug anything in. I took a Ebay wireless desk charger and rigged it to work with one of my dash mounts but it looked awful and only charged when I got it perfect in the mount.
Then I was looking at other mounts on youtube and came across a Kickstarter company called AirDock. I ordered from the Kickstarter site and finally got the unit a few weeks ago and thought I would give a review. Be easy, this is my first review of anything.
The device has a sticky pad and 4 magnets that hold the tablet. It worked well for the Nexus 7 without a case but not with the case. But the mount came with a sticker that has 4 additional magnets in it that I attached to the back of the case and it holds it well. I have it in a Jeep Wrangler with 37" tires and has not fallen off yet.
You can buy it with a short suction cup base, a long one, or a CD mount. I am using the long one in the Jeep and it works good, has not come off yet. I bought the CD mount one for my car and it is sturdy and seems well made. It also comes in white or black.
It came with a dual output USB charger that says 1Amp and 2.1Amp but with the wireless charging I do not get anywhere near that. My Battery Widget says it is charging at 500ma ( 1/2 amp) which is enough to use the GPS, Pandora and have the screen never turn off and BARELY charge the battery. I use Tasker to automatically open Pandora when it senses wireless charging.
I will post some pictures this afternoon.
There website is http://www.theairdock.com/ I paid $45 for it on the prelaunch but it looks like they are $68 now. Pricey to me but well worth it because I have double that and 20+ hours into trying to make my own.
Please post any questions you have I will try to answer. I have emailed there support people with an issue with my LG G2 and they answered same day.
Please post some pics of your setup when you get the chance. I'm looking for something like this and it sounds like it might work well.
Oh man! Yes... Let's get some pictures on here!

Let me tell you, while I do have have the AirDock, if I ever do another car install, I will be using it. I bought and hacked up a Qi wireless charger to use and earth magnets to hold the tablet. While it does work, I've got $20ish in magnets and another 10 in a wireless charger and then the time taking the charger apart, finding placement, trying to work the magnets around the charger, make sure it all works, ect. A lot of time whereas with the AirDock, from what I see, will pretty much self align, hold the tablet in place and charge. The time saving to me alone would be worth it
Pics please
Pics please.
I am a lurker on this site. I can offer very little knowledge to rooting phones etc. but I thought I would share my experience with the AirDock. I own a Samsung Galaxy S5, the CHOETECH Qi Wireless Charger Kit from Amazon, and a Spigen Slim Armour Case. Everything works fine. S5 charges thru the case with out issue.
When I get the AirDock I quickly realized that A) the AirDock will not charge the phone and B) the AirDock will not hold the phone. I added the magnets to the inside of the Spigen case and that did not help much if at all. I contacted AirDock and was told I needed to put the magnet stickers on the outside of my case. I certainly do not want to do this and I can’t as the sticker will no longer lay flat. The sticker is not designed to be installed more than once.
On their web site is says the best option for the S5 is to use the Samsung replacement back. I ordered the Samsung replacement back from Amazon and even paid overnight shipping as I was excited about using this. This AirDock now charges and it does hold the phone, but nothing like the videos show it. It is not a strong connection at all. I tried it out in my car and it fell off twice while I was driving during lunch. Obviously this is not going to work for me.
I contacted the company and asked for a refund. I was basically told if I didn’t want to put the magnet on the outside of my phone, there is nothing they can do to resolve this and will not refund my purchase. So I had to open a Paypal dispute.
I am disappoint mostly in the fact that the item didn’t work and that the merchant had no desire in helping me. Maybe I have a defective unit - who knows. I would have liked to try another unit, but I don’t think that is possible now.
If you do not have a super smooth phone back or want to add a magnet sticker to your phone, I would suggest you look elsewhere.
Hmm..... I definitely do not want to add magnets to the phones case. That would look horrible. My case is big enough as it is. I have a Zero Lemon 10K I don't even use because it makes the device so big. Sure I can go 3-4 days but at the cost of having 5lbs in my pocket which isn't cool so even with my current case, I don't want to make it more bulky. Thanks for the feedback.

No problem. Glad I could help someone not go through what I am going thru trying to get a refund.
I love my Airdock. This is a picture of what a Nexus looks like in my car. I don't run it like this though, normally a Note 3 goes where the Nexus is.
Few things to note. If it's bright outside, Waze will slowly drain the battery, but at night, it'll slowly charge it up. If you don't run Waze, it charges my Note 3 at around 650mAh.

Doesn't the Note have a super smooth back? The S5 doesn't. And since I added the 'official' back cover as suggested, I can not longer find a case to fit the S5. I really wanted to like this, but I can't afford to have my phone falling down while I am driving.

UPDATE: the company has said I can return the unit for a refund. Hopefully everything goes smooth.
The magnet is just a sticker. I actually have one on the back of my Nexus 7 and also on the back of a case I sometimes use with it (the sticker on the back does not interfere with fitting into anything). The N7 sticks without it, but I have a Jeep with shocks that need to be replaced and when I drive over railroad tracks fast, sometimes the Nexus 7 can fall so I didn't trust it enough. But no problem no matter how rough i drive since the sticker is added. The sticker is necessary on the back of the case, otherwise it won't stick at all. It still charges through the case, but it's very particular about positioning it just right and in my experience it drains faster than it can charge when using navigation, and would not last on a 5 hour trip. But despite that, this has been by far my favorite dock for any device so far.

Old thread but the sticker does not have magnets in it, just metal to help it cling to the magnets in the dock. I had to use it on my G2 because my Incipio Featherlite won't stick. I may try some thin metal discs between the plastic back and rubber of the case instead.

I cut the sticker out around the buttons and where the Incipio logo would show.
I also have an s5. I have the genuine iq upgrade with back panel but haven't used it yet. I am looking for an airdock or similar solution. I could live with the sticker but just wondered if there are any other chargers out there like this or is the airdock the best option? Will it alway charge slowly? Ie 500mah. Also any links of where to buy as mobile fun is out of stock. Thanks guys
Airdock is already working on the next version, it may be better but won't be ready till April or later.

Terrible product
Buyer beware. Their customer service is horrible. They specifically emailed me to tell me it would work with the droid turbo and it does not. The phone sticks to the pad fine but does not charge. I repeat: Does not charge. I sent them 2 nice emails asking for support and they have completely ignored me.

[Q] anyone got the Qi charging quick circle folio case?

I just got mine. And it doesn't seem to charge when put on a Qi pad.
Anyone got one and have it working properly?
(and yes I do know mine is a charging back; has the little contact points and all.)
Contacted LG and they said that there is no compatible quick circle folio case for the G4. And that is it a Verizon market scheme to get you to buy their stuff. I told them about all the official LG stuff on the box (including ORIGINAL LG accessory hologram). Amazing...
I have one from Korea. It might be a knock off but it had the hologram sticker. Charging works fine but I am having some random reboots since I put it on. And the phone is not waking up when I open the case and double tap to wake is fussy. Going to put on my leather on and see if the problem goes away. Between this and Lg screwing me on the promo for the US because I bought an international phone this thing might be on Swappa shortly. Feeling a little but hurt.
Yeah I got a free Quickcircle case with my phone, but it also doesn't work with Qi ><
Infuriating useless conflicting standards...... BETAMAX WAS BETTER DAMN IT!!!

And you got the official LG one that supports wireless charging? Which carrier do you have?
I think there are several cases out there. Some support the wireless charging, and some don't.
But if it doesn't you'll just need to buy the qi sticker to replace it.

Can I cut the front part of this circle case and put the back door on an existing case?
I have the Verizon G4. I bought the QuickCircle Folio with Powermat+NFC for AT&T models on eBay, thinking that it might work as-is, or else I could swap out the sticker to make it work with Qi. It turns out that it works on my Tylt Qi charger right out of the box! http://www.ebay.com/itm/151704461178
