Damn it! Since I don't have my S4 anymore, I keep seeing more and more of the upcoming cool new S4 accessories
... Just got this Charging Case in the mail today, so I will modify my original post with a review below.
[UPDATE]Actual Review with lots of Pictures!!!!! [/UPDATE]
This is a review of Anker High-Capacity 5600 mAh Protective Battery Case for Galaxy S4. http://www.ianker.com/product/70SMGLXS4-B4B56A/1461
I know I don't have my S4 review unit anymore, but since I have done so many other reviews of various Anker products I was offered an opportunity to review this Protective Battery Case as well. I have done a ton of other reviews from different vendors on this forum and always have in-depth hands'on analysis with description of how it works accompanied by a lot of pictures. Unfortunately, this is going to be my first review where I didn't have a chance to test it out on an actual phone, but I will do my best to give you all the glory details of the product, and hopefully more people who are using it will chime in with their comments and additional picture with phone inside of the case and other battery usage statistics.
So first of all, the capacity of 5600 mAh breaks down into 2600 mAh OEM size removable battery and 3000 mAh battery slice built into the back cover of the case. What's unique about it is adaption of a new pin-charging technology where charging battery case works through a special connection with this battery. Battery itself is a standard size slim OEM battery that can be used by itself with any case. This battery has 4 contact pins in the top left corner for mating with charging contacts inside of S4 battery cavity. In addition to that, it has 2 charging pin contacts on the front top left corner. Once battery inserted into the phone and phone inserted into the battery charging case - these 2 contacts will mate with 2 spring contacts inside of the battery case. This more then doubles the battery capacity and actually seamlessly integrates both of the batteries together into one. As a matter of fact, according to an included detailed manual, once everything is assembled your S4 battery indicator will show a total remaining charge of the combined battery unit. And when you have your micro-usb charging cable connected, both batteries will charge together.
Now about the case itself. The front cover of the case is S-view flip cover with corresponding window surrounded by a nice chrome outline, a very distinguish detail. The same chrome detail is around front speaker port as well. On the outside, the flip cover has a textured faux leather material. It also has a little magnetic flip on the side to keep the cover closed. I think its an important detail especially in situation if you drop the phone/case by accident. Keep in mind, this cover will/should protect your phone display in case of drop or when in your pocket rubbing against loose change or keys. This cover also features an auto-sleep/wake mode when you open/close it, and has all the features of S-view where you can easily answer or reject the incoming call. Inside of the cover you find a very fine felt material which is also used inside of the back cover. All the cutouts on the back are precise and will not interfere with a back speaker, camera/flash as well as everything at the top/bottom and side power/volume buttons of the phone. The back part of the case hosting additional battery is made out of a sturdy PC material that wraps around corners of your S4 for a decent drop protection. The back of the case has a black piano finish which looks great but after some use and under a light will show some fingerprints. Not that bad and actually easy to wipe, but I still have to mention it for those who are ocd about it.
In my opinion the case quality and functionality is excellent. Basically in addition to S-View functioning case with a great corner and screen protection, you are getting a bonus of spare OEM battery and additional 3000 mAh capacity. It adds exactly the same thickness as any double capacity battery and as a matter of fact has a back shape of battery cover for double thickness/capacity battery. This makes me wonder if you can use one of those honeycomb TPU cases on top of it. Just might have to modify with some custom cutouts for magnetic flip and the flip side connecting front cover to the back.
Here are the pictures.

I hope they will soon. I will ask them.
Btw, there are some batter flip covers on ebay but those connect through micro-usb port thus you loose 30% of capacity converting through 5V usb interface. I have to look closely to my S4 review pictures I did because that 2 pin connection on Anker battery case seem to align with wireless charging connector, so all 3000 mAh will go directly to charge the battery.
Actually very impressive looking. Hopefully they have different colors in the future!

Not wireless. Battery goes in phone. Back cover connects to battery through the 2 gold pins. Usb charges both simultaneously if not I would guess the main battery first then the case battery second since the electric current would go through the main first.
Looks like I found my next case. Thanks

Zerolemon without a doubt the king of triple-capacity. I'm using their 9300 mAh battery in my Note 2 since April. But its an internal battery which come with a minimum protection tpu case. We (Note 2 users) been waiting for rugged case since May, and still waiting, promised now by the end of September. This is something different because you can continue using your OEM battery and attach this on top as a backpack case for extra charging.

You are absolutely correct! I just pulled pictures of S4 I took from my original review of the phone, and wireless charging pins were to the left on the same level as flash led. In the case above those pins are way below and aligned with 2 side pins on the battery. So just like you said - battery will go in attached to the phone with its regular top corner pins, and extended battery will be attached through those two pins in the case to the side contacts on the battery. I also think that battery gonna have some smart controller built in. Charging will stop once it going to reach 3.8V and has to enable pass-through to charge external battery while monitoring it's voltage until it reaches 3.8V. Just my guess.
Just need to keep in mind, this external battery will only work with that special Anker battery to be charged. But at the same time you have a flexibility of removing extra charging case and putting back standard battery cover and your other favorite case. Also, unlike other battery cases, micro-usb port in this case will be fully accessible.
This is pretty cool.
I wish it wasn't gloss black though. That is going to look terrible in no time!
Anyone order one im really tempted to get one but id like to see actual pictures of it on the phone before I order

Yep, just found it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anker-5600m..._Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item4ac96465fa
Man, that looks really slick.
Looks great but I can't deal with the clip on the front cover part. My ocd would go crazy having that clip sticking out and touching me. I want something like that with out a closing clip or even a great case like the spigen sview armor without the clip on it. Any suggestions with links to reviews would be great. Also has to be white.

Thanks for thr great review, 2 questions for you if you don't mind, can the front cover be flipped open all the way to the back of the case and also do you know if NFC works? Thanks

No, can't fold it all the way back because of battery hump. Also there is no mentioning of NFC, since I obviously can't test it either. Even if battery had NFC built in, it will not work buried under case battery.

Edit: Before you get scared off, anyone can do this mod.
What's up, everyone? I hope you are enjoying your phone as much as I am. I refuse to pay $50 for the Google/LG charger, but I really want to have wireless charging. Wireless chargers can be had for much cheaper, but they don't have magnets. I believe I've come up with a cheap way to make a magnetic wireless charger.
I bought this cheap charger from eBay for $15:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/350864130374?var=620157913035&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I bought (100) 1/2 x 1/16 inch magnets for $20:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CS5OV0U/ref=ox_ya_os_product
Note: You don't have to get 100 of them. (Obviously, LOL) You can get 10 of them for like $4. I'm splitting the 100 pack with my friend, so in the end I'm paying $10 for 50 magnets.
I was able to fit my fingernail (I am a guy and have short nails) underneath the top of the charger and get it to snap off. There are no wires connected to the top, and there seems to be plenty of clearance. I think I can easily glue four magnets in the appropriate positions.
I already have two of the chargers, and my magnets will arrive via Amazon Prime on Saturday. I will post pictures if I am/am not able to get them to fit. When it is all said and done, I will have paid $40 for two magnetic wireless chargers, with 42 magnets to spare!
I don't want to write out an entire review of the charger, but I have been using one at home and one at work for a few days already. Both of mine are black, so I cannot say anything about the white model. The black has a semi-rubberized feel to the plastic, which seems to help prevent the phone from slipping. Once I install the magnets, there should be no slipping, though. I have charged my phone using two different Spigen cases and had no issues. I have seen a few people online complain that their charger didn't work right or that you have to put your phone in the exact position for it to work; this is not my experience at all. As long as you are centered, you are fine. It isn't difficult to center the phone, because it is almost the same size as the charger. Again, none of this will matter once the magnets are in place underneath the top.
Saturday cannot come soon enough!
If someone has already posted this, please do not flame me. I will admit in advance that I was too lazy to look.
Completely unrelated bragging: My Spigen glas.t didn't have any issues, and it looks perfect.

What you need:
Cheap eBay wireless charger (link above)
Magnets (link above)
Tape
Super glue
Pencil or pen (pencil recommended)
Some sort of paint or white-out to use as a marker
1. I placed the phone in the correct position to charge. I then traced a soft line around the top and bottom edges of the phone. The pen came off afterwards, but I'd suggest using a pencil.

2. I popped the top of the charger off. Using my tracing from earlier, I was able line-up the phone in the appropriate position and flip over the top with the phone sitting underneath. I placed the magnets on the underside of the case, and they naturally lined up with the magnets in the phone. Then I traced around the magnets. After tracing, I flipped each one over and applied super glue. I flipped them back and held each for a minute or so. Flipping them the right way is important, because you don't want to screw up the polarity. After the glue dried, I applied a second magnet to each one. You do not need to glue the second magnet. Trust me. The green paint was used to see if the magnets were touching the coil, and if I would need to apply tape.
3. I taped the areas that the magnets touched. Yes, that is duct tape. Whatever.
4. I tested the strength.
5. I put it back together.
I forgot to take a picture of it charging. It charges, even with a case.
That's it.
Note: I thought it would also be cool to use this idea for a car charger in one of those universal phone mounts. The phone slides when you hold it upright. If you glue on a piece of plastic or rubber as a small lip, it should work.If your mount has a lip underneath, that might also work.

The magnets will actually be here tomorrow, Friday. I ordered them at like 9pm last night, shipping from Canada. They were in South Carolina by 1pm today, and will get to me tomorrow. Gotta love Amazon Prime!
I'll try to document everything, but really there shouldn't be much to it.

There's been no negative effects on the phone from those magnets? I just don't know the strength of the ones int he official charger so the thought of magnets in general sounds bad to me.

I've been using it since Friday, with no issues. If you are worried, use a single magnet in each position, instead of doubling up. The magnets are strong, but they aren't that strong. If you try to use the charger to hold the phone upside-down while using a case, it will not hold. Notice in my picture that I am not using a case, but I typically have one on my phone, even while charging. I haven't tested how long it takes to charge the phone to 100%, because typically my battery isn't depleted (<15%) until I'm ready for bed. When I get up in the morning, my phone is good to go.
Since the phone does have magnets already, I assume that it is shielded. I'm not worried.

Hi
Can you confirm whether if it stops charging after the phone gets fully charged ? or it just continues ?
thank you .
What USB charger are you using with this Qi Pad? If I recall correctly this one needs 1.5A input in order to output at 1A. I just ordered a couple from the ebay page you linked to but now I need to find some AC adapters to go with them.
This is a review of Anker 7500 mAh extended battery with a case for Galaxy S5. http://www.ianker.com/product/79ANS5-B75A/73
When it comes to extended batteries, a lot of the people can't make up their mind because on one side they would like to get a few extra days of battery use while on the other side - you have to pay a price of increased weight and size of the phone. We all want to have a slick and sexy new phone and some even skip a case. But the truth of the matter, smartphone is our personal entertainment center and once you start watching videos or playing games or enable frequent social media updates, you battery life will go down exponentially. One solution is to have an external battery which attaches to your phone through micro-USB connector, but those are not always convenient to hold together with a phone, plus their efficiency is often down to 75%-80%. Extended battery will go into the original battery cavity of your phone for a more permanent attachment and 100% efficiency. Another point to take into account, don't be fulled by cheap eBay batteries that claim to pack double/triple capacity into OEM footprint. It's not physically possible. The bottom line, you have to deal with a brand you can trust, the brand which has been around for awhile, has extended warranty coverage, and enough of positive feedback on the sites like Amazon. I personally consider Anker to be among those top brands and here would like to talk about their latest 7500 mAh extended battery for S5.
Arrived in their typical environmentally friendly packaging, it's a basic box with just a battery and a case inside of it. Just like any other product from Anker, it's covered by 18-month warranty and from my own experience and everything I read in our community, they really stand behind it with a support. The battery itself has a custom shape which looks like an original S5 battery footprint with a slab of another battery shape attached on top of it. The shape cutout doesn't interfere with sim/microSD card and also has a generous opening around the speaker. Obviously the thickness of the new battery will extend beyond S5 original profile and you can't use the original battery cover. Here, Anker provides a custom TPU cover/case with a precise cutout for an exact fitment of the battery shape. What I really liked is that to fill in the extra space in the case, they used a lightweight solid rubber material. The tight fitment keeps battery from shifting inside of the case, and that extra rubber material provides a decent shock absorption if you drop the phone. Also, I like how they designed a tight fitting opening to bring the sound from the speaker without loosing it's quality.
The case fits tightly around the phone and has a decent lip around the edge so you can place the phone down without touching the screen. Also, it worked well with a tempered glass I had on. All the port openings have a precise cutout and microUSB port opening is generous enough to open the cover. The camera lens and a flash and sensors on the back are not obstructed, and the opening from outside is sloped down so there is no issue when taking pictures or reflection from the flash. Volume and power buttons have a nice tactile response and slightly raised profile is helpful in locating buttons just by sliding your finger. The back finish of the case is matte, while the sides are shinier. Would have been good to add some textured finish on the sides to improve the grip considering the increased weight and size of the phone, but it's still manageable. For the reference, the weight of S5 with original battery and battery cover is 154g, while Anker battery and case by itself is 212g, and assembled together with S5 the total weight is 314g. Overall, you will double the weight and thickness of the phone.
Now, regarding the performance. In the past I went into great details about hours of use with a regular battery versus extended battery, but it turned out to generate too many arguments. That's understandable because we all use our phones in a different way, running different apps, use different custom ROMs, etc. The measurement of the battery stamina is only relevant to your own use, and on every single occasion I found that if you are dealing with a reputable vendor who truly provides a triple capacity - you will get on average 2.5 times more use out of your battery. Putting this in perspective of how many hours is irrelevant. Another thing to mention, NFC with this extended battery will not be supported. I'm sure for some it will be a deciding factor.
Overall, I prefer to judge this battery more on it's quality rather than performance. In the last few years Anker name became synonymous with battery brand and is very well respected on Amazon with thousands of 5-star reviews. In my opinion, there is no question about their performance (and I'm not being biased, just realistic). In terms of quality, I found it to be very good!

that thing looks insane man
People already bought one, I'm waiting to get home. Anyone who has used some time, can give an opinion about its feasibility. If even worth it? And it's not just a matter of numbers and size. Thanks in advance to all.
I was entertaining the thought of buying one just for work, but my two OEM batteries last a very long time, even with my phone overclocked and without Ultra Power-Saving Mode. I'll wait until a couple more people post their reviews.
I received this product compliments of Anker Direct for review and feedback purposes. Following are my initial thoughts after using the Battery/Cover combination for approximately 1 week:
Packaging - The Battery and Replacement Cover arrived securely packaged with warranty/contact information as I've come to expect from Anker.
The Battery - 7500mAh almost triples the original battery life of your Samsung Galaxy S5 at the expense of NFC functionality. I went from having to charge my phone numerous times throughout the work day to not even thinking about where my wall charger or car charger were for over 24hrs. of extremely high usage, including everything from calls, web browsing, video chat, video streaming and camera usage. Anker warns that due to size of battery and cover there may be negative effects on signal strength however in my experience this has not been an issue. Anker took all the features of the phone internals (micro sd/sim/speaker) into consideration, leaving all of these areas fully accessible.
The Cover - The cover replaces the original Samsung back cover, providing exceptional phone protection, covering your phone's corners, sides and back. Ease of access to all buttons and constructed of a soft TPU material adding a nice soft texture and grip to your phone. Unfortunately this comes at the expense of water resistance, at every reboot the phone will warn you to check the back cover, not a concern for most, but those who purchased the Galaxy S5 on the basis of water resistance may want to stay away from this battery if they want to be chained to an ac outlet or external battery (Highly recommend the Anker Astro Battery line if this is more your style http://www.ianker.com/product/79AN7904S-BA)
Warranty - 18 months!!! What manufacturer stands behind their products, not to mentions batteries for this length of time?
Cons - In my particular usage the only potential con is the enormous size of the battery and cover, however the additional usage time greatly outweighs the added bulk.
All in all, I love the Battery and Cover, inexpensive and quality/features and warranty are top notch compared to the competition, great addition to my Anker family of accessories.
Will this work with some wireless charger? Thanks In advance!!!
I was using Mugen for my previous devices and I must say that I'm really happy with the quality of Anker case. The only problem was small hole for audio jack - too wide plug of my Westone earphones. Fortunately I have already purchased newer replacement cable which has narrower plug and this one fits perfectly.
It also comes in much nicer package than Mugen - plus it's cheaper. However I still consider Mugen for its planned waterproof back for extended S5 battery.
Maybe it's just the angle there, but that looks REALLY thick. Can you give a measurement of thickness with the battery?
Also, does this still maintain the IP67 seal?
The Anker battery is amazing
I bought it at the same time I got my phone from Amazon
It does add weight, but the phone feels really sturdy and the case has a good non-slip grip
This is after 4 days of not-charging the phone and moderate usage every day
Keep in mind the Anker battery is NOT NFC capable - but I never use NFC anyway

It looks like a hole for the mic. There would be two holes or an oval opening for both the mic and the window for the IR LED aperture.
In the specification it does indicate that NFC, IR, and water resistance are no longer functional.

Yes, you're right, I mixed that up.
I would be happier for a thinner, less capacity one
I think if they have something in between the original and the 7500mAh compactness and capacity, that would be great.
7500mAh still looks too bulky for some.
Good evening everyone. I need some information about this battery, I received mine today. I have a very lonely job, eight hours alone and my company is my s5 in practice working 5 days and have 5 days off. My question is if there is any problem in using this battery just work? Ie if there is some problem for my smartphone? I'm switching power and I know he has to get used to different power capacity ....
Hey guys, I just wanted to issue this since no one has mentioned it for a bit more than a month now. I purchased this case from anker and revieved it this afternoon after 6 days of waiting. I got tired of waiting for a normal anker replaceable battery and just decided to drop the $40 on this. It arrived with 52% battery and im very impressed, as always, with it. I know I have to go through a couple cycles with it but tonight I will charge it from 30% to 100% and just work on it. My main thing, is please take a minute and grab a ruler, AND PLEASE MEASURE .81" out on it. I didn't realize just how THICK this case was and I wish I'd checked before. Its also heavy. You'll likely be two handing it much more often now. It definitely doubles in weight and the size is just what gets you. But otherwise its good. I wish the headphone jack opening was wider but it could be worse. The case and battery are nice material and I'm happy I made this purchase if nothing more than for planned trips.
I just got my Anker in today. Overall first impressions are nice. Definitely adds some weight but I don't think it's enough that you can't hold it in one hand for long periods of time.
Charging up right now. Will see how long it lasts.
im happy with it but i wish the zerolemon was out in the uk, its thinner and the case is better.
i had one on my s3 and was perfect
guyz is this right link to buy the battery? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anker-7500m...g-Galaxy-S5-with-TPU-Back-Cover-/321444258885
or is it fake?
This is a review of UNU Unity Battery case for Galaxy S5. http://www.myunu.com/unity-s5.html , also available on amazon www.amazon.com/UNU-Unity-Samsung-Galaxy-Battery/dp/B00J2H6PX8/
The idea of battery case is not a new concept. A few years back, it used to be popular in a form of external battery attachment molded into a bulky case with hardly any protection. Then, this idea was improved by using custom shaped batteries (double or triple capacity) sticking out of the original smartphone battery pocket, and using a custom plastic or TPU shell as a battery cover for a basic protection. Unfortunately, both of these approaches affected the thickness of the phone (by more than doubling it), phone protection was reduced, and often NFC support built into OEM battery was not available. UNU decided to improve this concept with a very clever solution. Here is what I found.
Arrived in a very simple package, the front is an open display under the cover revealing a slick look of what appears to be a typical smartphone case. You wouldn't even think for a second it was a battery case until you flip it over to see a description of UNU Unity Series with a detailed list of features, pictures of assembly, and benefits of additional hours by doubling the battery capacity. Yes, that's exactly what this battery case does - it doubles the capacity of stock 2800 mAh battery and provides a pretty decent protection by surrounding your Galaxy S5 in ultra-slim soft touch case.
Let me first start with a battery itself. As a standalone piece, there is a custom chassis with UNU's own 2800 mAh battery which goes into battery compartment of S5 instead of your OEM battery. It has an identical footprint and thickness comparable to OEM S5 battery with an addition of chassis on the top where you place your original S5 battery. This way both of the batteries are connected together, charging from the same S5 pins, and appear to Galaxy S5 as a single 5600 mAh battery tracked in your notification bar where you usually see battery percentage. This integration is completely transparent to your phone just like with any other extended battery.
The case is made up of two parts, the battery cover and the bumper. This is where UNU's design stands out from the crowd. Instead of a bulky TPU case with loose fitment or minimum drop protection, you actually get a quality back cover made out of durable PC hard shell material with a soft touch finish and an interlocking bumper that snaps securely to protect edges of the phone and provide a decent front lip which enables you to place the phone face down without touching the display. I have a tempered glass on my S5 and it worked well with this case, and I still had clearance to place the phone face down. Regarding the case itself, every port opening had a precise cutout and perfect alignment. Micro-usb port had enough clearance to flip the cover open, there was plenty of room to access heart rate sensor, and power/volume buttons had a nice tactile response.
Having a rounded shape of the back cover made this case feel very slim in your hand, yet still providing a secure grip. Overall, the case and the battery is approximately 78g, and if you take into consideration removal of original S5 battery cover which is no longer used in a new assembly, the total weight increase should be under 70g. Also, due to original battery being placed on top, you still get access to its built in NFC antenna. Regarding the performance, though UNU provides a reference of how many additional hours you will get - I honestly don't want to get into these details because we all use our phones differently. If I'm going to say, "oh, I got 10 more hours of game play" it will be relative to my specific phone use with everything else I'm running on my phone and all other background processes. It's hard to do apple-to-apple comparison between two phones even of the same model when it comes to battery life unless you have a carbon copy image of every app and setup. The bottom line, you are doubling your battery capacity so as a minimum you should see 75%-80% increase in additional use hours (nothing is ideal due to efficiency).
Overall, I was very impressed with a design concept of this battery case, with its innovative approach to double the battery capacity, and with attention UNU paid to the case design with an ultra slim form factor which feels like a regular case rather than a bulky battery add-on. I know it's a bit pricier than other extended batteries, but considering that it's not just a double battery but also a quality case, I think price increase is justified. So if you are looking to double battery life of your S5 and don't want to double the weight or bulky appearance of your phone, I highly recommend to check out UNU Unity case for Galaxy S5.

Thanks! That's were I "cook" all my reviews Check out more from my sig link
I love this! Definitely a great and better addition to our extended lineup! Thanks for the full detailed review. I subscribed and hope to see you post more about the performance as the days go on

Is this case waterproof??
It doesnt look like the battery sits flush against the surface of the back. Is there a gap between the back and the extended battery? (Where the original battery goes just under that between the black plastic and the s5 body.)
Looks really awesome! Thanks for the review. Does anyone know how i can get it outside of US?:good:
I just got mine today. I like the fit and feel of the case. Seems like quality to me. I can't comment on the battery as I just put it on. When I initially purchased it I thought it was like a mophie, but now after I see what it is, it may actually be better than a mophie. I am not quite sure about the technology but it certainly may perform much better. No need to charge it separately and turn it on and off.
Hmm, since this looses waterproof/resistance one could put a wireless charger on it

Good review. Will no doubt look at something along these lines in the near future.
Pretty sweet . I thought it would be much bulkier.. Its good to know it exists.. Thanks for the review . If in the future i need to go without a charger for more than 40 hours at a time i might consider it .. as of right now i am a moderate to somewhat heavy user and get 35-45 hours without needing a charge. I had good battery life right out of the box but now that im using Faux123 kernel my battery life is excellent . I thought i used my phone heavily . I guess you must travel a lot to need something like this . Anyway ill shut up ... Thanks again for the review and for the pictures Very Helpful
I'm getting my s5 tomorrow. Is this the only mophie like case for the s5?
s5 unu
I just got my unu unity case today and its abit bulky but still usable with one hand. The weight added is noticable but not overbearing. The soft touch case is a little slippery but at least its not a fingerprint magnet. And when I received my device it had 55% charge on it and 100% on my stock battery. As a note a few people are having issues with it so when you receive it turn it on to see if it works with just the unu battery, then add your battery and test nfc to confirm a commection to the original battery. As I stated earlier I received mine at 55%, tested, turned off, installed unu with oem battery then turned it on to find it at 55% and nfc working. At this point I plugged it into the charger and in about 2 minutes charged to 78%. I believe that both batteries contribute equally and one does not charge the other meaning no attrition. After the two minutes it took about 25~30 minutes to finish charging. Im on my first charge, and I average 3~4.5 hours of screen on time with oem only. Now im currently at 3 hours with 63% and 10 hours of standby time with powersaving mode off. I have screen brightness set to auto all the time and played a little monopoly, played about 25 minutes of spotify on sprint 3g and spent the rest of the time on google chrome. (Side note im using metal rom on sprint that has a stock kernel)
So for a recap when you get your unu turn it on with just the unu battery to see the % and to confirm it works, turn off, add your battery turn on and test nfc. Then average your battery and unu % plug into a charger and see it jump(charge fast) near or to that average then slow down and charge normally. Then install the bumper ! BOTTOM FIRST ! People have snapped the bumper installing it the wrong way. Below are some pros and cons:
Pros
-Double battery life literally
-Decently sturdy construction
-nfc
-no extra case to charge
-Smooth case doesnt attract fingerprints
Cons
-somewhat bulky for those who like tpu cases (came from diztronic)
-heartrate sensor is harder to get to
-speaker sounds kinda off because its a hollow shell
And not really a con but I wish unu filled the empty space with some shock absorbant material.
If you choose to buy this case go through unus website get about 20$ off with UNUINSIDER and free shipping but right now due to high demand they wont ship till end of august but its definitely worth it (50$) through their website.

Much better than a mophie because it doubles battery life without attrition and you have full acess to the usb port.

Dang it... I should have gone through myunu.com and saved that 20 bucks... Hope everyone else can see this deal!
Thank you to darkfangex5 for that promo code! I ended up ordering one and it came a lot quicker than I expected, especially with the website saying that the all black cover was out of stock and wouldn't ship until August 30th. I ordered mine August 20th and it was delivered August 25th.
I listened to darkfangex5 advice about trying with just the unu battery first and then both together. The Unu battery had 56%. I can't recall exactly what my stock battery had but it was somewhere around 60%. I turned the device off and put both batteries in and made sure the NFC was still working. I wasn't on my phone much the rest of the day and gave it a full charge through the night and have used it for about 5 hours so far today. I have been using my phone heavily (as I normally do) these past five hours with about one hour of streaming netflix to chromecast and about 2.5 hours of audio podcast listening (downloaded, not streaming). In addition to that I also had the screen on for about 2.5 hours as well. At this rate I should be able to get about 20 hours of a full charge which falls right in line as I used to get about 10 hours with heavy usage before needing a charge.
As far as a review of the look and feel of the case goes, I like the look a lot. It is a clean design. It does have a smooth finish and is a tad slippery but nothing I am worried about yet. I did accidentally crack the bottom of the ring piece trying to install the cover (was too eager and didn't read the instructions fully). It does not seem like the crack will have any issues though. I am not a fan of the power button design. It is set up like a hinge connected at the top of the button so you need to press the lower portion of the button for it work. Not a huge deal but sometimes I find myself having to press it twice since I wasn't low enough on the button. One thing I didn't think about was how it would fit in the Samsung car mount I bought for my S4. It still fits in the mount but it is not as secure as I would hope. Lastly the cover does add a few mm of height above the headphone jack. I use an aux cord in my vehicle since I don't have bluetooth and the headphone jack does not fit snuggly into the phone but I still get full audio. I'm sure a different/slimmer aux cord will solve this issue.
Thanks to those who bought and reviewed this product. I am very happy with my purchase so far.
A quick overview of my review:
Pros
-Double battery life
-Still have NFC capability
-Looks of the case
Cons
-Slightly bigger than expected (mainly my fault for not checking size of my car mount and aux cord)
-Case could be slightly more rugged
-Not a fan of the power button design

I have had one for about a week now. Its a good case and battery combo. Too much battery for me though. I'm not a power user by any means. I'm probably gonna sell mine if you are interested let me know.
Slick Back
Hello,
Looks like they fixed the slick back like the one I tested. The finish of the back is very slick and can slide out of your hand easily. This looks like they changed the finish of the back to something more like a TPU case that is not as slick in your hand.
Good on them... That is my only real issue with the product...

I've had mine for a few weeks. My initial impressions still stand with one exception.
The glossy white/light blue combo still looks like a teenage girl's case. I thought it would get scratched up pretty badly (I am a "face up" rather than "face down" person on the rare occasions my phone is on a surface instead of in my pocket) but it has not at all, still looks brand new.
I still wouldn't call this a particularly slim case but it definitely seems smaller than the alternatives.
Getting into the USB port door is absolutely no problem, they got that part of the design completely right. The headphone jack opening is too small for what used to be the standard size plug (seems that new ones are a lot slimmer now).
There is some dust getting in, which I still don't like. And the hard plastic is creaky and hard and really wouldn't provide cushioning against drops.
So, as a case... meh.
I'm loving the extra battery life though. I've been playing a game recently that with the extra battery takes me under 50% remaining at the end of some days. Without playing that game I would normally only have to charge every other night. I can tether for a couple hours without needing to plug in to power while doing it. Really convenient.
It is kind of annoying when the low battery stuff starts to squawk at a point which is really earlier than it needs to. Small price to pay
Will I keep it? Not sure. I'm leaning towards no, sacrificing the extra power since normally I could last a day ok. But I may give the GS5 to my wife in a few months and maybe the case would be more appropriate for her.
Thank you both for your feedback!
I bought the battery and have been using it for a few days now. The case looks classier than all other extended battery cases out there. The charge lasts for 2 days (35- 40 hours screen on time) with medium usage. I watched a 1.5 hour streaming movie and it consumed only 6 % battery. And, in my knowledge it is the only extended battery in the market that supports NFC.. It has got a built in NFC receiver in the case like the original one.
Using WiFi
I am always online on facebook and messenger, location on, sync on. During continuous fb usage (just scrolling through time line ) the average battery drain is @ 1% per 10 minutes or so.
While using google chrome i noticed a bit faster rate of drain but it's negligible.
Using 4G data
4G usage however, drains battery at a faster rate.
Anyway it all depends on what kind of apps you are using, the signal reception etc...
BATTERY TEST RESULT
I left the phone to charge yesterday night at 9... It takes 7-8 hours to charge from 0- 100%
Yesterday 5 AM to 9 PM : (wifi on, sync on, location on)
Streamed a movie on amazon prime : 1.5 hours
Facebook usage : 2 hours
Google Play Music stream : 1 hour
Youtube : 2 hours
Google chrome : 2 hours
Idle screen on time : 2 hours
Total 10.5 hours usage and battery charge left = 55%
I listened to 2 hours of continuous music via bluetooth in my car which consumed only 3% battery.
At the end of day i had around 50 % of charge left.
N.B : I ordered the item from official mugen battery website. It only took 4 days for the item to reach me from US to India.
NEW UPDATE : 30/04/2017
Something happened today that prompted me to post this update... I posted all the pros about this battery and case, so here are few cons too :
The handset fell down from my hand today (I was seated in my car and it fell on the floor) ...
1) Even from such a lower height , the impact was very heavy ( i could really feel it ) due to the bigger battery. The battery case came of easily, flew off and hit my car's door.
2) The battery however remained intact, but that's most probably because of my soft car mat.. If it was on a hard floor the additional weight would have seriously damaged the edge of my phone.
3) The added bulkiness and weight makes it impossible to fix this device on any kinds of car mounts (I'm not sure about those magnetic mounts ). So using navigation while driving is off the list.
So, unless a protective case is available for this battery , be very careful while handling your phone.

As you can see in the pictures , it adds almost half an inch to the thickness. But it fits well in my hand. The case is very well designed and in my opinion it gives a better grip and fit than the original case. It weighs 100 grams more but i got used to the weight in a couple of days or so. The colour and quality totally matches with the rest of the components unlike the rubbery case of zerolemon and the cheap looking hyperion brands.

Very easily accessible. The case simply curves inwards smoothly towards the fingerprint sensor that you don't even need to search for it.

Hey.
I have the zerolemon and can say I'm happy with the battery and case. I like the look of this, but would still want a case to go over it. Especially the screen. Having that lip on the zerolemon has saved my screen a couple times.
Thanks for the review, I might still pick this one up too

I have had the ZeroLemon since its introduction. Satisfied, but the lack of NFC was always bugging me. I received the Mugen today, and like the OP mentioned, it's a complete package. Feels great in hand, and at least for my use seems to hold charge a bit longer than the Zerolemon. Perhaps it's because it's newer or perhaps the quality of the lithium ion is denser, not sure. I was even able to stick the small round metallic Spigen disc between the battery and the battery cover, to use the magnetic car holder without it showing.
Now trying to find some kind of bumper to complete the full package.

The links you provided don't work,
I have been looking for an extended battery with NFC for a while now, I was actually losing hope and was a little frustrated that none of the big companies implemented it,
The cost for delivery of $50? Pass
Frist question, ist it worth the 80$ + shipment to Germany like 30-50$(kind of much).
second question, What about the heating?
Best regards from Germany
No difference in heat that I have experienced. Then again it depends on what you use your phone for. I'm not much of a gamer, and YMMV of course.

The worthiness of the product varies from person to person. For me, it is worth it because i spend a lot of time watching youtube, browsing and taking pictures... Original battery wouldn't last even 4 hours for me... If you are a casual user then you needn't buy this. There are cheaper alternatives but none of them look classy like this one.
And about heating, I did not feel any difference, the phone used to get hot( especially on top near the camera) while playing long videos or during continuous 4G usage even on stock batteries... This battery did not make any difference.

As far as car mounts go, as I posted earlier, I'm using the Spigen magnetic mount with a custom cup holder combo. I was able to affix the Spigen small round magnetic plate on the battery, and still have the battery cover close firmly with the disc within the phone itself. The magnet holds the phone firmly. I was doing the same thing before with the Zerolemon for 6 months or so with no issues.

Thanks for the suggestion, i will try spigen mount
The back of the Spigen Vent Magnetic mount is a standard ball and cuff, used by many other 3rd party car holder vendors. I was able to mount just the magnetic head to a really long gooseneck suction mount holder. And all that to a cupholder to suction mount converter. All those parts are easily available on eBay or Amazon.

Got my MugenBattery a week back and took time to calibrate with 5 total charge and discharge cycles through AccuBattery. Calibration comes in at 8600 mah. Even the stock battery's calibration is 3000 mah, versus the claimed 3200 mah. I consider MugenBattery the iphone of LG batteries and have had it also in my LG G3. But miss the kickstand extended bar, as most convenient to watch videos etc. MugenBattery should make sure that this is there. I have tested TQTHL, Deep Stretch, zero lemon in my LG phones. Mugen has the sleekest back cover , most powerful (and also the costliest) extended battery that one can use.

So just like the goofy case they gave away with the Fold 3, the new one is just as janky. You have to remove the entire S-pen module to drop it onto a Qi charger. The front part is taped on, and its not very sticky. It's awful.
Not got mine yet, do have the "hand strap" one though, and that has some issues too. Wireless works but kinda have to make sure it's positioned just right on some chargers.
That and most people are right handed so the strap thing is on the dominant hand side.. Not the best idea. But hey its difficult with the way the phone is designed as a whole. My front one on this has stuck on pretty well though to be fair, and unlike the 3rd party ones the edges are at least a sensible size
Mine wasn't so sticky the first few days. Then it just got okay. Still gonna buy some electronic double-sided tape to replace the factory adhesives. I heard it does miracles
I like the case but gonna get a rugged case tho
It's perfectly fine, for what it is. Much better than the pen case for the Fold3. Your comparison between the two makes it seem like you don't actually have experience with the one for the Fold3. I actually hate the cases that use sticky adhesive for the cover section. The use of tacky/rubber-like material instead, like this new case (and others, like the YTF cases and the Latercase case), is MUCH better, as it makes it easy to swap cases without having to reapply adhesives. My case stays put without a problem.
That being said, the official Samsung Pen case with the kickstand attachment is way too bulky to use as a daily for my tastes. I'm sticking with the Latercase for daily use and will only be using the Samsung Standing Cover S Pen case when I need additional protection or when I know I'll be going somewhere where I'll need to have the pen with me but can't easily carry it in my pocket.
It's OK and it was "free" so there's that.
What was not OK was last year's case with the flap cover. I've never liked those.
Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
Very interesting... I've used mine from day one and have not had an issue with QI charging with the S Pen attached. I was astonished that it actually charged with the S Pen in place on the case. Just to be clear, I'm using the Samsung QI charger at home and at work and the Samsung vent mounted car charger. I have not tried any 3rd party QI chargers, so I cannot comment about them.

While I can charge on a 3rd party Qi chargers (both in the office, home and car) I found that the 10W ones charge OK (though slow) with the pen attached. The magnetic field isn't optimized as the two inductors (charger and phone) are not at the same angle. The 15W one I have in the car works OK as well, however the pen and the back of the phone are certainly hotter than I want it to be. I remove the pen and then it isn't hotter than I would expect it to be.. Waiting on a new 15W charger to the office, so I will see if with the pen the phone gets hot as in the car or not.. So yes, it charges, and still I think it makes sense to click out the pen for wireless charging (just common sense). As for the 'opinions' and if it is the best case? It is ugly yet functional. I use the pen a lot of times away from my desk, handwriting on the 7.6" screen.. It also better having a wide diameter pen. I have the narrow one in my Samsung laptop and it is hard to use for long time..
I'm not finding my desktop chargers making the phone hot, maybe a little warm, but not hot. The car mount, however, does get pretty warm, probably due to the usage (3 apps running in multi window mode, along with 3 floating widgets). But there is positive charging going on, in the car charger.

Good point. yes, the home chargers are colder than the car one, that also runs Android Auto/maps/Spotify while I drive..
I'm not able to claim my case and charger, they want pdf of proof of purchase. Samsung never sent me an invoice via email. And my Fold 4 doesn't show up on the Samsung website under my account. I purchased the phone on their stupid site. F this, looks like the case is not worth the time takes to claim. Also the pen is not active like the old Note right?

Done that, but it's not enough it seems. I already have the stape case, so have no need for the pen case.

Maybe give them a call? Mine's just shipped with only a picture of the delivery note.
Thanks for the idea, I really can't be bothered to waste more time, the whole website buying experience was terrible with exchange, had to ask help here to complete the purchase. Its just unbelievable giving the size of Samsung.
I have no idea why Samsung just don't throw in the case, pen and charger in the welcome box, it was big and empty enough.
You can get the invoice from your order under My Orders

Wow. I didn't have any of those issues. The whole website experience was super easy. But I've been buying direct from Samsung for years so maybe I'm just used to it.
Also, my freebies were all included in the same box as my phone. Only thing I didn't get was the free charging pad work my GW5Pro, but I also bought Buds 2 Pro, and it bundled those and gave me a really good discount, which I think automatically removed the charger.
The case is excellent IMO. No issues with it. No issues with qi charging. Also with a plastic printer you can make your own attachment instead of the kickstand or pen. Lots of ideas here.
The Samsung kick stand/pen case is pretty good and have not had issues with charging wirelessly with the pen in place. Two issues though that I didn't like, is the pen makes the case even thicker and there is no hinge protection. I tried adding a clear film protection, but as many others have also found the clearance between the hinge and the screen backings is tight and on my phone, top near the camera lens area by hinge, after putting the film on, it jammed when I tried to open/unfold it, so I had to peel it off.
Went with the Spigen Slim Armor Pro Pen Edition case, and very happy with it. It has the hinge protection, is thin, holds the pen on the side, and the case has a great feel for gripping - more rubbery than plastic. Added a pop socket with removeable top and an ESR Boost Phone Kickstand which works both with it folded vertical or horizontal and also unfolded, so now I have all the features in the case/phone. I use the pop socket with a magnetic car mount and remove the pop socket, when I need to wirelessly charge it at home.
