[Kernel][JB] Leankernel: Minimalistic Kernel for D2ATT/D2TMO (CM10) v0.14 [9/12/12]

It seems that ATT and T-Mobile versions of Galaxy S3 are very similar. There is a present from Imoseyon - LeanKernel for CM10 / AOSP that offers outstanding battery life. Thread is at:

Finally Imo is here!! Now that lean kernel is here, there will be no other kernel on my phone. Working great on my i747.

Also working great on my ATT SIII. Waiting to see how the battery life is after a few days. So far running great. Its nice to have another option out there now.

This kernel is not likely to work with ICS, only with JB.

I am quite happy with this kernel, in the 2 days I've been using it, I haven't had a reboot since, and the battery life seems superb
I'd recommend people to try it out, only thing that I'd like to see is a 192mhz step, it's still only 384 minimum, but doesn't matter, it runs very very smooth on the latest CM10 (0823).

Flashed this tonight. Works great so far. Always loved Kt kernels but phone didn't so much. Would get very bad speaker distortion if I UV to less then 950. I was able to go down the 800 on this kernel with no sound distortion so far. Finally!

No. This is for AOSP based firmware, not TW based firmware.

Initially I wasn't having good results with your build but I re-flashed it just in case it was a bad flash and it's smooth as hell now and works great. Thank you guys for working on this for the community!

im the same way im die hard aosp but this new tw has a lot of features and is worth a look at. like news and facebook feeds on the lock screen and a very customizable messaging app and more.. downside, its hard to judge now because its still in beta phase but yeah its a little slow and unresponsive

Ptmr3 is using the skyrocket JB TW leak and making it work better for our phone. Like TDJ did with ICS skyrocket leaks for our phone

- Official Slimbean 3.1 (Gmillz) ****ing amazing! super fast, lots of personalization features, sounds amazing with "pimp my rom" downloaded beats and poweramp combo (Best I've heard on any rom I've flashed) be sure to get Beats installer from play store for the icon follow the install instructions. Don't use any custom boot animations, they seem to all make the system become unresponsive right off the bat
- Unofficial Slimbean (onlychevys)-----Haven't flashed yet.
- Slim AOKP Light / Superlight (android88) ----Flashing next <3
- JediKnight 6 (Ptmr3)---Haven't flashed yet.
- Party boy v2.1 (thepartyboy)---Party boy 1 was a huge let down for me. Everything was force closing or freezing. Flashed it twice, meh. I'll wait for it to evolve.
- Lightning Zap Kernel Kang (Krazeecracker)-----Haven't flashed, not too big on ****ing with Herc's kernel, I leave that to the Dev in thier roms
- Kko Kernel KANG (TheLastSidekick)-----^^^^^^^^^
- Miui 2.12.7 (OxD34D)-----It's been a while since I've flashed Miui, not since thier earlier jb releases. Looking forward to it.
- All Star ROM v5 (Tmogalaxys2)-----Average rom, not bad or good really. everything worked had all the winning features from different devs. didn't wow me in any way though. Went back to Infamous 3.1 after a day. Btw, The Unicef Rom is the ****ing ****! I loved it, only reason I switched was to find a rom I could tether or hotspot with. (no such luck)
- LiquidSmooth Rc9 Kang (TheLastSidekick)----Haven't tried the Kang version yet.
--For fully functioning ICS rom straight out of the box, I will always go back to Infamous 3.1
--- So far, my JB preference is a toss up between SlimBean3.1 and TheUnicefRom10.5
I really enjoyed AOKP milestone1 official

I'm currently running Jedi Jelly 2 ROM - best one I've ever ran on ANY phone I've ever owned. I absolutely love it and it does everything as advertised! Only way I'm going back to stock is if I sell the phone!

Does a list exist of all the att note 2 roms? I have found about 5 and am in search of the perfect one please help if you can

A better question for op is to post what parts of the phone you use. And ask what roms would fit.
Blue tooth. Hdmi. Stylus. Note taking / picture editing (fast or not)
Etc...
I love the stock setup. Just not the bloat. I jumped on jedi. Love it tried cm10 which I love (from my old samsung infuse 4g) but it is missing too many pen features for me.
The best option honestly is to try them all. See whats missing that you cant live with out. You almost always give up something.

I'm with everybody.You really gotta test it out the Rom which suits you. If you like the stock looking Rom with awesome add on features and killer battery,I suggest to try the clean Rom for AT&T. You won't regret.

Yes. It does. HERE. For most of the Galaxy Note models here at XDA.
If this helped - please tell others. I've been doing the same for the Desire HD since that was released too.
I'm a little busy, so I can't get around the forums that much, plus I don't want to over spam.

My favorite Rom after trying Jedi X, Clean, Jelly Beer, and CM10 would be Jedi X if you want something as close to stock with a few added cool features. You don't lose any S Pen features and the toggles are perfect for me IMHO.

Clean rom fan here as well. Love it. Love the extra toggles and configuration of them. Teathering is enabled. Pre-rooted and deodexed. AT&T bloatware is removed, but the option to install them is there if you'd like to retain some of them.

I like clean rom you can use it as a base for more mods and make it your perfect rom, I used to love paranoid and cm10 on my note 1 but after using the note 2 cm10 and paranoid quite frankly blow balls compared to stock jellybean or a modified version like clean rom, jedi or even miui which has s pen integration
In the end its what you like so just be safe and try some out to see whats best for you

The best roms are Scotts clean roms. Ever thing works. Go to development section to find them there.

THIS! I love the CleanROM 4.0.5 so far. And the dev gave up sleeping and social life to develop multiple ROMs for the Note II in parallel. Give him some support!

Well now that iv flashed about 10 roms here is what I think. Clean ROM is nice and close to whole as your gonna get. What I'm using now and I'm really loving is Jelly bam! Yes I'm missing s note and a few other small things But what I'm able to do with this is worth it! Jelly ban is like the best of all ROMs together. I'm so in love with how I customized my note 2!

Can someone recommend a TouchWiz based ROM that is Jellybean base? I assume this means it is based on stock, but looking for something tweaked/modded.

You could try going to the development section to find a decent ROM. There is a ton of them.
These threads are really frowned upon because people get into flame wars because one person likes one ROM better than another.

Its actually AOSP and it stands for Android Open Source Project, ie pure google android

Different rom experiences

Just wondering what every one is running and their experiences good or bad.. Im looking to put a custom rom on my note 2 and am undecided on whats the best..... Im coming from evo series so samsung is new to me. Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium

Its been said a million times there is no best Rom. Every phone acts different my phone may run the same Rom as you but can have different experiences; based upon settings, tweaks, kernel, modem, etc... test out the ones you think you may like.

Like lostsoul said. Flash and see. Look through the different roms. Figure out whether you would like an aosp rom or touchwiz. Then find a couple of those and flash.

honestly i think he meant just basically try them all
because they all act different from battery to just speed and performance
me in particular i like jellybombed due to the color sheme
but i kinda changed my own files around in his red theme so im content :good:
just have to fish and see what you like first
