installing flex cable - HTC Wildfire S

Hi, I recently fitted a new screen on my phone which is all fine.
When I was installing I snapped the power button flex cable, I have found a replacement but I'm not sure how to install it. It looks like it was just glued onto the connection, does anybody know about this? What type of glue should I use?
Thanks

Damaged USB Port?

I was charging my GNex on a Kindle cable. My foot got tangled and it dropped onto the flaw. Now it won't charge properly (very intermittent and only need a nudge to stop) on either of my two Kindle cables. It will charge ok from a different cable.
Have I damaged the port? Can it easily be fixed or will it need to go back?
Just bent the bit inside the port to align it back into the middle of the port hole (if that makes sense)
Be delicate and use a tooth pick.

Hmmm. Doesn't appear misaligned. Wouldn't that bugger up all cables?
It fixed it for me. Dont do it if youre not confident. Just use a cable that works
I've actually just recently run into a similar issue with the kindle cable.
It sits really loose and picking it up will cause it to stop charging. But the stock usb cable works fine still.

[Q] Cables always come loose?

I have had my Nexus 7 2013 pretty much since launch date and I have always had a problem with the micro usb cables coming loose (I have tried various ones). This has never really been a major issue until recently I bought a OTG Y cable to connect it, and then to connect a Wireless adapater to it for using Kali Tools on my tablet.
The problem is, the slightest touch to the cable, and I mean you only have to look at the cable and it comes loose effectively disconnecting and interrupting the power from the OTG and wireless adapter.
Is this a known problem and is there a fix?
The cables just never seem to go far enough in and wobble side to side far too easily, so although it was never a major problem for me before I am finding it extremely annoying and frustrating right now!
Thanks
Take the back cover off, use a pair of needle-nose pliers to GENTLY squeeze the connector back together, replace back.

lcd ribbon cable

I was wondering is it possible to break the ends of a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 lcd ribbon cable without actually snapping the cable I kept playing with mine and now it won't work at all before I ordered a new one wanted to be sure I was right

Rooting and installing a custom rom without working USB.

Hello,
I have just found my old Nexus 7 2013 and I want to bring it back to life, but USB Port does not work (I charge it via wireless charger). Is there any safe way to root it and install a custom rom(I hope it will make my device run faster than on stock 6.0) without working USB?

I don't know of a way to root or install a custom rom without pc access.
I have an N7 Deb which lost USB data connectivity and I found that the problem was caused by a ribbon connector on the left side of the motherboard when viewed from the rear, which is the board at the top of the tablet. The ribbon cable involved carries USB data, battery charging current, screen touch data, and for the LTE Deb version of this device, SIM card data. I had opened my N7 and replaced the battery, which required me to temporarily disconnect the ribbon cable from the motherboard. When I got everything back together I had no working touch input from the screen. After some research I found my problem to be the ribbon connector on the motherboard. Applying pressure on this connector frequently remedies any problems it may have. In fact, the rear cover has inserts which apply pressure on two ribbon connectors on the motherboard. If you remove the rear cover from your N7 and press on this connector while your PC is connected to it, you may find that connectivity gets temporarily restored while you are pressing on this connector. If this is the case, you can experiment with adding some additional cardboard between the rear cover and the ribbon connector to permanently add some additional pressure to this connector. If this works, you can then install a custom ROM on your N7.
Good Luck

Won't Connect to Pc?!

I recently reset my device and did a wipe with Twrp so I could install Los with it, now currently the device has nothing on it but cannot connect to my pc for whatever reason, I tried installing drivers through Restock, and it even charges with the device powered off I have also tried other cables is there something I'm missing here? I don't know how to move forward and it used to work perfectly before the reset.
This seems to be a frequent problem with our almost eight year old N7s. There is a ribbon cable connector on the motherboard, the top board inside the tablet, which is prone to lose connectivity over time. There are inserts on the inside of the rear cover which apply pressure against two ribbon connectors on the motherboard. The ribbon cable connecting the lower, USB board to the motherboard carries charging current for the battery, USB data to and from the external USB connector, touch input from the screen and for the LTE N7, SIM card data.
Remove the rear cover, connect your N7 to your PC and see if connectivity is restored when you press on the left ribbon cable connector on the motherboard as viewed from the rear. If so, you can try adding some cardboard between this connector and the back cover to increase the pressure applied to the connector once the rear cover is reinstalled.
Good luck.
