I'm currently using the 4.2 JB stock keyboard. Is anyone able to press enter on the email app? I cannot press enter while composing a message to shift to the next line nor can I use the select all option. Another issue is that sometimes word suggestions do not appear in some text fields such as when doing a google search through the search widget.
I would use Swype but Swype seems to have an issue with the stock JB browser where it will not auto-space nor select all...
Can anyone confirm these issues, or is it just me?

Hi guys
Just upgraded to Black 3.0.1 and got a strange problem with SMS. Whenever I used to write a new SMS, I'd fill out the "to" info then press tab then start to write the message. Now, I press tab and it jumps right down to the bottom of the SMS and if I start to type it still types in the "to" box.
Anyone else experiance this?
Thanks
Try going into the Pimp my black app and turn off the "Navigate with D-pad" function under the Pocket IE tab.
You legend, worked a treat! Thanks
Hey guys,
Is it possible to have TF3D mark emails as read automatically when you select the e-mail tab, the same way the SMS messages become marked as read when you press the SMS tab? It really irks me that everytime I receive a new email, i have to open it to get rid of the notification, even if I already know what the email is about from the preview.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
This has been bugging me too. It would also be useful to be able to delete emails from this screen too by having the option under the 'Menu' button, again like the SMS tab.
Here Here
While I cannot offer any advice on this, I can say that it certainly is a pain.
I would love to see a "Mark as Read" button added or even better - a "Delete" button added to the email preview page. Even a key combination or hardware key re-map while in that screen would work, but would be a 2nd class fix as it would mean having to open the keyboard.
Is this issue addressed in any of the ROMs out there?
Anyone know if that useless "Push To Talk" button could be remapped to do this?
Thanks!

This would be perfect, or a "mark all as read" button in the Manilla GUI under email
Previously, when I would start to type the To: of an email, at the bottom of the screen there would be an entry with a match from my contacts - or at least I thought it was from my contacts. Recently I lost my email account and had to create a new one. Now the auto type does not work. Is it because of the new account? that the auto type really worked from previous email addresses entered in previous messages?
if you use a keyboard with predictive text then it doesn't work. If you're using the slide out keyboard it should work.
Does it work of the contacts list or previously sent emails?
in my experience, it should pull from your contacts...it's a bit buggy, to say the least...in the "message to:" field, you can press the "enter" button to select from your contact...i end up having to do that most of the time...
Did you install swype recently? I noticed it wouldn't pull up contacts when I installed swype, only when I backspaced one letter would the contacts be pulled up.
that may be it...ive had swype installed for quite sometime...
It is swype that has made the closest match selection stop working. Even though I am individually typing each letter (not swyping), the swype keyboard does not seem to allow it.
The keyboard on this phone is absolutely the best I've used, but fairly often, I accidentally press the enter key and send a text before it's completed. Facebook chat through the official app has the key set to just drop down a line; one has to press the soft "send" button to send a message into chat.
Is there any way to set this as the button's default behavior? Or maybe just for the messaging app? I'm using the SwiftKey Trial at the moment, and I couldn't find any sort of customization options.
Thanks in advance.

if you use Handcent, ChompSMS or the messaging app that comes with CM6 you can set "send on enter" on and off

Hi all,
Have had my phone for a week now, loving it!
One nagging thing tho... Wondering if anyone has had this issue or knows what's going on:
When I want to use the S-pen to write out an email message, I cannot. Unlike with any of the other text fields (To:, Subject, CC etc), the handwriting icon does not appear for the email message field no matter what I do.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Update:
I found out that I can simply change the keyboard input to "T" to enable handwriting. Works fine, however the input "style" is different than that of the normal S-Pen input.
Still find it strange the handwriting icon isn't showing up where I need it the most!

is the Direct Pen Input (under S-Pen Feature/Settings) enabled?

Yes it is.
In stock Email app, I can get the handwriting icon to show for all fields except for the message itself!
seems to be a bug. I rarely use the stock email app, yet the handwriting on it. XD
have you tried other 3rd party email apps?
