Wanted to know if anyone else is having problems installing paid apps?
I am running GS3 i747 AT&T rooted with the instructions on galaxys3root.com with AOKP JB Milestone 1
I found out that all my paid apps can't install. I keep getting "unknown error code during application install "-24"
This happens with the following paid apps:
Smart tools
tapatalk
pocket casts
Also, I'm posting here bc I just registered an apparently I can't post in the pertinent forum
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you try clearing cache and data under apps in system settings?

Did you do a full wipe before installing the ROM and gapps?
I met a similar issue once. I couldn't install the paid apps and the play store kept asking for purchase. I then left the phone for a few minutes, came back and reboot the phone. Everything returned to normal. I guess it's the play store is upgrading and syncing with your account.
Yes I did do a full wipe before flashing the ROM
In clockworkmod recovery I also wiped the cache and dalvik cache as well

Look in this same forum for Market 3.4.4 and reinstall Market again. It is a broken issue caused by the new updated kernel on BM4.1.
EDIT: actually here you go and good luck

Go to setting>applications and make sure that "unknown sources" is checked and go to development in the same page and see if USB debugging is checked as well. Then you are going to go to the "Files" in your applications list and look for your download folder where your APK file was downloaded to and click on it and follow the instructions and you should be good to go from there
omg im downloading my apps again ^_^ thank you so much!!!!!
when i download a new rom or update a new rom how do i keep my old widgets on my screen and apps? reinstalling the apps and adding widgets and customizing screen is so tiring T_T

Its a catch 22 since most times Market will re-up your apps but for Widgets you have to re-do again which YES its a pain lol
Also Titanium backup is a neat tool to backup your apps and remove ****e you don't need.
Glad to be of help and PM me anytime you have a question

I think this young grasshoppa has found his answer and this thread needs no further action.
May you please delete?

Try installing the red theme in the second post of BeastMOD that also worked for me in making market work or refer to the steps in the prior post with a reboot after

go into recovery mode and wipe cash and it will fix the problem
Another way is to log into your PC and log into the market and install an app or game from there. Worked for me.

I've wiped both the partition cache and dalvik cache, installed the 3.4.4 version of Market (above) and rebooted my phone.. Still getting 492 error..
I am having this same issue on my SGS2.
Running BeastMod 4.2 w/ Synergy Kernel
I have tried reflash of ROM, reflash of Kernel, install of Market 3.4.4, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and fix permissions. None of these have worked.
These are some helpful steps I came across somewhere in the forums.
When I do this I have had no problems with the market.
Factory reset 3 times
Wipe cache 3 times
Wipe dalvik cache 3 times
Fix permissions 3 times
Wipe the battery stats 3 times
Reboot your phone
After the phone boots leave it without touching it for 10 minutes
492 error
Tried wiping dalvik cache, reloading Market 3.4.4, installing Red theme, and rebooting. Nothing works. Have the same problem with Paradox ROM. Cannot download or update anything from market. Finnally worked after booting into clockwork and wiping cache partition(not Dalvik cache).

May I suggest to ODIN to a stock rooted rom then choose a rom of choice and flash using CWM.
Long time reader, not into posting, so my post count is low.
I have a issue. I flashed IceCream Senseless V1.0 yesterday. My market is not working. I keep getting the force close with the following.
"The application Google Play Store ( Processcom.android.vending) has stopped unexpexpectdly. Please try again."
I was able to download Titanium Back Up from the Market right after the flash. This morning I had notices for updates to apps, I clicked to open them, and thats when the FC startted. I was not able to download the updates.
This is my favorite rom so far. Any thoughts on a fix?
What GApps are you using? I had that problem when using evervolv so I just downloaded the newest GApps and did a full wipe plus a fresh install.

Have you tried clearing data for the Play Store? If so, you may just have to reflash the rom either without wiping or doing a full wipe and flash.

If I'm not mistaken, the rom is based on Sense and Gingerbread so there are no GApps to flash. It's all included, just themed for ICS.

Awesome! Glad everything worked out.
I'm on AOKP milestone 5 and Franco kernel milestone 4.
I was on gapps from the AOKP site: gapps-ics-20120422-signed.zip
And upgraded to gapps from CM9: gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
This message pops up a lot after a reboot, my guess is syncing w/Google stuff? Never had this problem with AOKP milestone 4.
Anyone have any ideas?
flash the gapps for AOKP.
Why would you "upgrade" it by flashing it? You could've just updated the apps by use of the Market.

I did a full wipe. Also cleared cache and Dalvik cache again to be on the safe side.
Is anyone else on this same combo/version of AOKP and Franco and has the phone working normally?
Could be an aberrant flash?
did you restore data from tibu?

Some apps + data I restored from TiBU, about 1/3 of the apps. Mostly just the games and WiFi, Bluetooth stored partnerships.
Ok, I think I fixed it!
Will reboot a few more times to confirm, but so far, this solution shows promise!

UPDATE:
Rebooted 4x and no more error messages! My GF will be so happy that it's finally fixed! It's her phone and she has about 250 apps and my last resort was to redo her whole phone :/
But, that solved it! Thanks to everyone to helped out!
Install gapps fixer.

Also:
I'm almost positive that the 4-29 G-apps is likely the one you want, considering you're using a regular AOKP Milestone version(as opposed to a seriously modified/themed kang version of the ROM). The Gapps package released from 4-29 fixes a Google Account backup issue still present in 4-22. So there is a benefit in flashing updated g-apps at times, due to fixes/optimization of Google account-linking functionality and other things of that nature.
If you flashed from another ROM, always try wiping system, data, cache and dalvik.
If you're coming from a compatible ROM, just wipe dalvik at most.
Force closes are almost always a permissions conflict or not flashing the g-apps with the correct procedure.

You're right about that.
My GF said she had errors w/Google Play last night. It wouldn't download any apps.
I looked into it and found this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25877843&postcount=7
I think a more thorough solution to this type of error message (it's not really an FC) is to:
Remove your Google account (by going into Accounts & Sync)
Delete the data in Google Services Framework (by going into Apps)
Then, re-add your Google account
On that last step, I'm not sure if it matters whether you re-add your Google account through Google Play or through the Accounts & Sync settings.
Hi,
I realize this is a noob question, my apologies and any help/advice fixing this would be greatly appreciated. I installed Mod 10.0.0-d2spr on my Samsung Galaxy S3. I followed these instructions (I can't post the link because of my noob status but the title is How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S III (and Rid It Of TouchWiz Hell) and it's from gizmodo UK) and everything seemed to be going fine. It booted up in cyanogen. I then went to step 4 and tried to restore my backups and it was sort of a disaster. The apps installed but it also disabled the android keyboard, I can't turn that on, it is greyed out.
Essentially, cyanogen is installed but I can't open some apps (browser for instance) and the keyboard isn't functioning. I do have data and can make calls/receive texts. Can someone please help if they have any knowledge of a fix or any idea on how to proceed to remedy this?
Also, I did boot into recovery and reinstalled the mod, same issues persist.
Thanks!
Go into recovery and wipe your phone. Install CM10.1 and do not restore any apps. As this is known to cause problems.

I think you're right about that as before I flashed them, everything seemed fine. When I reinstall the mod will they be deleted? The first time I wiped the phone and reinstalled it didn't solve the problem.

What did you wipe? System, data, and caches? If not, try wiping what you missed and then boot up into the rom again (but don't wipe system or you won't have an OS)
Hey, everyone. I've recently come across an issue with Google Play. I'm running CyanFox 2.0.1 which is Android 4.4.2. I don't believe this is a ROM issue. I haven't bothered to wipe and reflash yet. I came across this issue about a week of running CyanFox 2.0.1, so it didn't pop up right away. Anyways, the issue is that I can not update any apps. When I open the Play Store and go to my apps, it tells me there aren't any updates. I know this is wrong because if I open up Aptoide, it tells me there are updates for my apps. However, if I try to update via Aptoide, I get an error that says the App Package name already exists and it can't install. Not sure what is going on, but I'm hoping there is an easy fix without having to wipe and reflash everything.
Thanks

You could try to remove your google account and then re-add it. I've been running this rom w/o issue for almost 3 weeks (unofficial and now official) of course I started by using the wipe for new rom option in Philz recovery (under factory reset)
As always, a clean flash is always recommended (the XDA mantra) :highfive:
You could also try clearing Party Store data and cache in the app manager first.

Thanks for the suggestion! I did clean flash when I originally flashed the ROM, I just didn't want to wipe everything and reflash just to get the apps to update. I tried removing and re-adding the account without any luck. I think I'll just wait for the next CyanFox build before I wipe anything. Thanks for the suggestion, though

I was looking around their Google + page and found a post that said they're trying to get builds out at least once a month. I know they just upgraded their servers, so build times are much shorter now. But yeah, I don't think they really have a release schedule. They're doing a good job, though. Looks like their user base is growing quite rapidly
yeah they're doing really great. I can't wait to see whats next.
