I'm on AOKP milestone 5 and Franco kernel milestone 4.
I was on gapps from the AOKP site: gapps-ics-20120422-signed.zip
And upgraded to gapps from CM9: gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
This message pops up a lot after a reboot, my guess is syncing w/Google stuff? Never had this problem with AOKP milestone 4.
Anyone have any ideas?
flash the gapps for AOKP.
Why would you "upgrade" it by flashing it? You could've just updated the apps by use of the Market.

The issue was happening on the original AOKP GApps, and I read on here someone suggested flashing the CM9 GApps.
how did you get to milestone 5? did you dirty flash from milestone 4?

I did a full wipe. Also cleared cache and Dalvik cache again to be on the safe side.
Is anyone else on this same combo/version of AOKP and Franco and has the phone working normally?
Could be an aberrant flash?
did you restore data from tibu?

Some apps + data I restored from TiBU, about 1/3 of the apps. Mostly just the games and WiFi, Bluetooth stored partnerships.
Ok, I think I fixed it!
Will reboot a few more times to confirm, but so far, this solution shows promise!

UPDATE:
Rebooted 4x and no more error messages! My GF will be so happy that it's finally fixed! It's her phone and she has about 250 apps and my last resort was to redo her whole phone :/
But, that solved it! Thanks to everyone to helped out!
Install gapps fixer.

Also:
I'm almost positive that the 4-29 G-apps is likely the one you want, considering you're using a regular AOKP Milestone version(as opposed to a seriously modified/themed kang version of the ROM). The Gapps package released from 4-29 fixes a Google Account backup issue still present in 4-22. So there is a benefit in flashing updated g-apps at times, due to fixes/optimization of Google account-linking functionality and other things of that nature.
If you flashed from another ROM, always try wiping system, data, cache and dalvik.
If you're coming from a compatible ROM, just wipe dalvik at most.
Force closes are almost always a permissions conflict or not flashing the g-apps with the correct procedure.

You're right about that.
My GF said she had errors w/Google Play last night. It wouldn't download any apps.
I looked into it and found this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25877843&postcount=7
I think a more thorough solution to this type of error message (it's not really an FC) is to:
Remove your Google account (by going into Accounts & Sync)
Delete the data in Google Services Framework (by going into Apps)
Then, re-add your Google account
On that last step, I'm not sure if it matters whether you re-add your Google account through Google Play or through the Accounts & Sync settings.

I recently flashed cm7, works great. The only thing I'm having trouble is with the apps. I can't download the apps I had previously from the market because It says I have them installed already.
So how do I fix this/restore my apps?
thanks
Try and clear data for the market app and see if that works for you.
Erm, how exactly?
If you go into settings and then applications. Find market under all and click clear data.
Part of my problem is that I don't have the market app installed
Did you flash a Gapps package when you flashed your ROM? That will give you Market and other basic Google apps. I believe CM is packaged without an integrated Gapps loadout for legal reasons.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
No I didn't flash Gapps, I just installed market via apk, cleared the data but I can't use the market cause I cannot set up a profile that its asking for.
How would I go about this Gapps package?
There was no data to clear anyways.
About to try this
wipe data+cache
flash cm7
wipe data+cache
flash gapps
If you wiped system, cache, and dalvik cache before you installed CM7, you shouldn't even need to wipe. You'll just reboot into recovery and flash the Gapps .zip just like you flashed your ROM.
As far as finding it, I'd just Google "cm7 Google apps" or "cm7 gapps", you'll find a download link for the .zip. Keep in mind that, unlike the ROM itself, the Gapps package isn't specific to one model phone.

Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
In that case you might want to start from scratch:
Boot into recovery -- nandroid backup -- factory reset -- wipe dalvik cache -- install cm7 -- flash gapps.
And yeah, check to make sure you're using a current stable cm7 build.

What version of CM7 did you flash?
depending on the version of cm7, i would flash one of aero's kernals
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/7717-kernel-aeroevan-vivow-kernels-for-aosp/
v8 needs to be for 7.2 otherwise, flash .7 version.
7.2 + Aero kernel .8 is an amazing combination. Do that!

So I think I'm pretty close to deciding on:
AOKP toro milestone-4

GAPP
Should I reboot after I flash each one or could I flash all three then reboot?
Thanks
personally I would go: rom, gapps and kernel then boot and enjoy the show!

What's the point? Maybe for a theme but not for the other three.
Let the new system boot on its new kernel that way building the dalvik with the kernel it'll be using instead of building the dalvik with the roms kernel and again when you flash the new one.

Oh I know, I'm just saying!
I would always flash a theme after a boot tho.
I use AOKP M4 w/ Franco M2 and am very happy with it so far.
I would:
Boot into recovery
Do full wipe
Flash Rom & Gapps
Boot
Let settle 10 min
Setup phone
Let Play Store download apps
Restore app data with TiBu
Reboot
Boot into recovery
Wipe Cache & Dalvik
Flash Kernel
Boot
Let settle 10 min
Reboot
Sent from my Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Nexus.
Its not necessary to wipe before flashing Franco's kernel, or to let the stock one settle. Franco's kernels contain a script that automatically wipes dalvik cache. I always flash the rom, gapps, then kernel and reboot. It doesn't really make sense to let the original kernel settle since it'll be overwritten anyway

<_<
There is no such thing as kernel settling anyway.
Period.
Thanks all. looks like the consensus is to flash the rom, gapps, then kernel and reboot.
Dakota0206 mentioned that I should:
Let Play Store download apps
Restore app data with TiBu
I thought TiBu backed up the apps complete and I would restore them through it without anything to do with Play Store. Do I need to download all my apps again from Google Play first?

So that means I'd have re-install them one at a time? What selection in TiBu would I select to restore the data after re-installing the apps?

I find that the order of installation is very important. In fact I've had perfect results using my combination through much trial and error. First i put my left foot in, then take me left foot out , then put it back in and shake it all about. Then i do the OCD and turn my self around.

Usually the play store downloads all your apps automatically. No need to do one at a time. It will do them all at once.

Sorry for being a pain here but does the play store download everything when I open the site or do I have to select something? It doesn't seem to do any downloads when I open the site. I have some apps showing there that I tried but then uninstalled and really don't want to re-install them.
Thanks again, for the umpteenth time.

When you do a full wipe and flash a rom and gapps you will go through the setup process. Like you did when you pulled the phone out of the box for the first time. Just make sure to select to backup with Google account. Immediately after setup, when you first see the home screen (you should have to x out of the tool tip overlay) you should see the play store app download icon in the status bar. This is the play store downloading and installing your apps.
I err on the side of caution so I don't like to interrupt this process. It goes one app at a time so it can take several minutes depending on how many apps you have. I have 110 and it takes roughly 30 - 40 minutes.

Got it! Many thanks.
Long time reader, not into posting, so my post count is low.
I have a issue. I flashed IceCream Senseless V1.0 yesterday. My market is not working. I keep getting the force close with the following.
"The application Google Play Store ( Processcom.android.vending) has stopped unexpexpectdly. Please try again."
I was able to download Titanium Back Up from the Market right after the flash. This morning I had notices for updates to apps, I clicked to open them, and thats when the FC startted. I was not able to download the updates.
This is my favorite rom so far. Any thoughts on a fix?

Xylon AOSP
Download : Xylon(k) 2.7.7 - 05.22.13
Standard gapps package is recommended. BaNkS gapps package is also a good choice.
I do -not- own this device so please be patient. This was not pretested in any way this time, so please report back promptly about any serious issues so I can try to get them resolved and so other users don't have to suffer the same fate.
for more information on the rom, please visit http://xylon.androidvenue.com or look at other xda xylon threads for pretty pictures and such.
This is -not- straight from source, there are many manual edits(additions, changes, removals) done after the rom is finished building before I upload it.

I wasn't able to download anything from the market either. I used latest Gapps for JB and also tried BaNks. It recognized that I had 20 apps to restore and even showed progress bars for downloading, it just never did. I did full wipe both times I tried different Gapps pkg. If I could download anything at all, this would be my daily. Blazing fast. The smoothest rom I've seen on my ns4g.

Couldn't hurt. And I'm open to suggestions on how to fix things and potential improvements. I am by no means an expert or real dev and as said before not owning the device makes it even harder to test out potential fixes. You can either pm it to me, or post it in this thread. Probably the thread way would be better so other users could potentially help out.
When reporting issues, please only do so from a clean install and not after restoring data. Also mention the gapps used.

Hi,
I was trying to update to the nightly version of CyanogenMod, so I went to the update part in the settings and selected the latest nightly. I want to update for the Google Voice integration with any app. Upon downloading and restarting the phone to apply the update, it was at the screen with this (bit.ly/1a9E9NF) and 'Samsung Galaxy S III' written on the top but wouldn't move past that. I was able to boot into recovery mode and I installed CM-10.1.2 (Stable) on a microSD and applied that update so I was able to take control of the phone again, however; I was not able to get the nightlies. Can anyone help with that?
On a different note, when I updated back to CM-10.1.2 (Stable) the Google Play store would not work and many Google Apps would crash, I fixed this by going back into recovery mode and re installing GApps, is that related at all?
Right now, I have everything exactly as I had it before trying to go to nightlies, my issue is how do I update to nightlies now? Did I do something incorrect?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S III AT&T - I747. This is where I downloaded the update to my microSD card: bit.ly/14KMExv

How do you personally flash ROMS? Flashing them wrong can cause issues. Do you wipe everything first and then flash the software? Your supposed to wipe in recovery data, cache, and dalvik cache in that order or at least that's what I do each time. It always works for me.

Well, I am only updating my ROM, not flashing a new one. So wiping my phone would be unnecessary and inconvenient. I've updated before but only to stable versions, this is the first time I've tried a nightly.

Nightlies are a totally different breed. Whenever I flash ROM. I wipe everything. Since the latest nightly is a different android version from the previous android version. I am highly recommending flashing clean not dirty. The GAPPs are different also. It might be inconvenient but flashing clean eliminates many issues.

Here's a link to MSgtSimon's CyanogenMod d2att archive. I believe 0813 was the last 10.1 nightly (I had been running it for over a week without any major hiccups). You could also try 10.1.3-RC2 (I'm not sure how stable this is since I haven't used it) if you wanted the ROM to have the most recent patches.

The 0906 and 0907 CyanogenMod Nightlies were broken but today's (0908) is supposed to be fine.

Hopefully it will work for most; but i would stay away from nightlies for a couple of days just to be sure.

I'm running the latest nightly (0908) without any problems. I believe there was a problem with the online builder before. You can see that the nightlies for 0906 and 0907 (the two that didn't work) were only 184mb in size compared to the rest of the 10.2 ROMs that are 193mb in size.
