my android market is not working when i want do dowload something it says could not dowload file because of error 492
what's the problem and how can i fix it ???

can you give me some instructions i don't know how to do that can you help me pls

if u just upgrade to 2.3.5 and simply make a factory reset. in the last week who installed 2.3.5 everyone got this market issue. just a simple factory reset

Take your battery out, put it in, hold volume down and push the power button, hold down till it goes into hboot, wait a few seconds while it scans for files, then use volume down to go to recovery and push power to select the option. Once in recovery go to advanced, wipe dalvik cache, and select yes to wipe, then reboot. It will take longer to boot the first time while it rebuilds the cache.
But If u don't know what the dalvik cache is or how to boot into recovery, then im assuming u probably don't have a recovery installed. U need to be root and install cwm5 following the guides on this forum.
Unless there is some app u can use or some other way I'm unaware of to wipe dalvik
Do your research before asking such a stupid question please.

Dude, just follow the rules and use the search function. If the xda search function doesn't work to your liking, use Google.

I just rooted my Samsung epic 4g touch with Caulkin's rom and now my email FC's everytime i open it to send an email i need it for work any help plz.

First thing you always do if any app is fc is to go into applications and clear data on it ...you will have to enter all settings again

i just did that and still keeps force closing. everytime i hit the email app it says the application email(process.com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again

It was working and then quit or never working on calk ? could be a bad flash ... i would say ask in the thread to see if others on calk having same problem ...if not nandroid back to your stock until you find out problem

It work before it was rooted i also see that my messaging is doing the same thing im able to open email and messaging but as soon as i go to send something it FC's and email sometimes won't even open.

when you installed calk do you wipe data , cache , dalvik , etc ....this can happen when you dont wipe .... if so go into cwm and wipe cache and dalvik reboot ...see if it works if not then try to install rom again or go to your backup

I have the exact same issue. Just started for the first time yesterday.
I cleared my email app data in settings and now I cant even open up the app. Once I launch it the error pops up and then forces close. I have just tried to reflash the rom (without a wipe) and that didn't even work.
I am also on Calkulin's rom.
I'm pretty much out of ideas. I guess next step is to do a full wipe and flash a new rom, but I'd rather not do that yet.

I decided to try a full wipe and reflash seems to have worked for me

Fyi for everyone... When having multiple fc's issues usually mean a bad flash of a rom. Either the rom wasnt flashed correctly, or its a bad download of the rom... Downloading the rom to your pc (NOT YOUR PHONE) is the safest way to ensure a good download of a rom (and even these downloads are sometimes bad). A telltale sign of this is when you are the one percenter from the thread having the issues... Hope new people read this and realize that reading the roms install instructions and following them is important and making sure your download is a good download are necessary steps in flashing happiness...

There isn't anything wrong with my download or how I flashed the rom. I always perform a checksum before I install any rom. I was on the rom with no problems for several weeks before the issue came out of no where.
I did have to do a full wipe and reflash of the same rom. Things are working fine again. I took a backup of the email app and will restore if the issues comes up again.

[Q] IC Senseless V1.0

Long time reader, not into posting, so my post count is low.
I have a issue. I flashed IceCream Senseless V1.0 yesterday. My market is not working. I keep getting the force close with the following.
"The application Google Play Store ( Processcom.android.vending) has stopped unexpexpectdly. Please try again."
I was able to download Titanium Back Up from the Market right after the flash. This morning I had notices for updates to apps, I clicked to open them, and thats when the FC startted. I was not able to download the updates.
This is my favorite rom so far. Any thoughts on a fix?

What GApps are you using? I had that problem when using evervolv so I just downloaded the newest GApps and did a full wipe plus a fresh install.

Right now I have only used Gmail. I uninstalled T.B. and restarted the phone with no luck.

Have you tried clearing data for the Play Store? If so, you may just have to reflash the rom either without wiping or doing a full wipe and flash.

If I'm not mistaken, the rom is based on Sense and Gingerbread so there are no GApps to flash. It's all included, just themed for ICS.

I tried to install an application and I received a notice that says 'Could not be installed. Free up some space and try again'
Something is very screwy. I have 22GB available.
Had no trouble before but now I can't install any app or manually update an app.
What gives?

This happened to me frequently on my old Epic. Have you cleared data and cache in the Play Store?

Just remember not to accept OTA v9 as it will break root. You will need to flash one of the ROMs from the Dev forum to keep it.
I lasted about 3 days on rooted v8 before I decided I was going to accidentally hit the "Yes, Update" button and flashed a v9.

Remember, don't accept the OTA to v9, flash a v9 ROM instead or as of now, you can't re-root.

Wow. That's not something I had seen when I had this problem. I saw this happen fairly regularly after a flash on the Epic, but never stock. I really wish I had some insight on this, unfortunately I do not. Not being an overly tech savvy individual I can't provide much more than the experiences I have had.

I was able to stop the update notification via Autostart app that someone here had suggested. So for now, everything is working fine but I am considering checking out the Imperium Initiative Rom.
Anyway, thanks for all the inputs

Well here we go again! I have 22GB free!
Tried to install app but get the same 'Free up space' pop up.
I've cleaned the data & cache from Play store as someone suggested, same problem
Rebooted, as I did before to fix problem, same problem
I've even cleared backups that I've had, same problem
I am rooted on stock V8 using the updated TWRP (2.4) recovery
This is quite annoying

The same thing happened to me when I tried to install Gameloft's Wild Blood and Titanium Backup 6. I tried clearing cache in recovery with no luck.
HOW DID I FIX IT: I went into SETTINGS--BACKUP&RESET then FACTORY RESET. It resets the phone to factory but kept root and didn't erase storage. Everything installs fine now

Liquidsmooth + camera issue

Hey guys,
I recently moved to the gs3 and jelly bean so this may be a known solution but for the life of me I can't find it. I've tried liquid 2.1 and 2.2 both with multiple gapps and still have the problem on clean wipes. Phone itself is only a day old.
When I start my camera it lags for a minute showing no picture then crashes, saying gallery has stopped. The funny thing is it actually WORKED before I updated my google apps through play? Worked fine on original rom also. This is driving me nuts as it is literally my only problem and I need my camera, but love this rom.

EDIT: BTW. Gallery starts fine on its own and I've tried the camera32_patched_v2.zip fix I found on another site and no luck(just have two camera icons and both do same thing)

Clear data on the gallery app (settings/ manage applications, or something along those lines) go to all apps and find gallery, clear data on it and try to use the camera again..

Yes and yes. I've tried gapps-jb20121011 and 20130301, both on liquid 2.1 and 2.2. Clean wiped each time. Same thing with camera always. Grey screen when it starts and then shortly after opening it crashes with gallery error.

Did factory reset first from settings(not sure if you should do this from inside a rom but oh well) and then rebooted into recovery. Tried rewiping and reinstalling again... Cleared cache, divak. used liquid 2.2 and jb2012011 which goo.im says is correct, fixed permissions. Got constant com.google errors and couldn't run initial setup had to put 20130301 just to get to setup and have phone back running again. Camera still broke(this time I tried before any updates again and it didn't even work then). What am I doing wrong?

Not sure if this will help, but I suggest: Do factory reset from custom recovery, wipe cache and dalvik. Then, install the latest M Snapshot of CyanogenMod found here. Then flash the latest 4.2.2 GAPPS from here. Reboot into system, try out the camera and check if it works. If it works on CM, do factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik then install Liquid Smooth. Good luck!

Update... I've been busy and have not had time to redo the phone again today, and I'm already 4 /0 folders deep(wtf 4.2?).
Here is the thing.. the camera started working out of the blue. I had the phone up for about 4-5 hours and randomly opened camera(which i keep doing) and it finally worked! I was able to take pics. Then my battery died... and now the camera is borked again after restarting. This is driving me insane. Any idea what is going on?

Charged for a bit and was able to start camera on second try then it would not reopen no matter what I did. Restated a few times and everything. This is going to make me crazy lol.

What I recommend doing is having phone charged to at least 70%, using Titanium Backup to restore your apps, and follow these instructions to the dot. This is what I did while using TWRP 2.5.
1) redownload LS v2.2 and gapps 20130301
2) backup all apps to TB
3) boot into TWRP
4) select 'Wipe' then 'Advanced Wipe'
5) wipe dalvik cache, system, data, cache
6) flash ROM then gapps
7) go back to 'Advanced Wipe' and wipe cache and dalvik cache again ONLY
8) reboot and run through setup wizard
9) immediately go into Play Store and cancel all installing apps.
10) install TB and restore user apps from there
11) reboot
now test out the camera

Did exactly that.. except installed newest cm10.1 M instead of liquid just to test. Same issue. Camera seems to work randomly but most of the time get the gallery has stopped error. Wtf?

Is there a zip for the old camera to add it back? I just need a working camera don't care which it is.

Does it give you an error, or just close out, FC, any thing? Sounds like an issue that may need some other type of edits. Oh and update your recovery, that's why you have multiple /0 folders....

Didn't work same issue
Tried some of the fixes from that thread too and nothing...
My question now is, I've seen someone saying turning on geotagging fixed the issue. I always turned it off when camera starts the first time, is there some way to turn it back on without redoing rom? Installing that other cam didn't even give me the option again and can't find it in settings.

Still can't get this camera working. Have not even been able to get it to work at all for 2 days now. Someone has to have an idea?

Solution - switch roms. You aren't stuck with roms. Try the aokp port. It's good. So is cm.

I HAVE switched to cm, I'm running it right now. Same exact issue. Works once in a blue moon but usually gallery has stopped and force close of camera. Worked on stock, this is a brand new replacement I got last week.
