Sure wish they'd add a flash plugin... Been using Xscope now for a few weeks and probably won't go back to Chrome. I like using just 1 browser so I know where everything is at.
edit: Just tried the update. It doesn't "feel" much different. Xscope seems a little faster to me. I had been using Firefox, but Xscope and Chrome open pages MUCH faster.

I've been using dolphin on the 7 because of the heavy lag...now back on chrome and it seems alot faster now. Still missing a "close al tabs" function though...

Boat works best for me. It pretty much destroys all the other browsers. I wouldn't rate it lower just because it isn't as mainstream.

Just tried boat browser, runs great, thanks for the tip.
Only thing about that one, when i import bookmarks, it dont put them in folders as they are in stock browser, any way to get around that ?

I use maxthon. The interface is awesome.

I came in here hoping to find an alternative to Chrome, and Boat does not disappoint. Chrome is so slow on my devices but I love the synced favorites

On pa switching the chrome layout to the 300 setting gives it the phone look which IMO works a bit smoother and looks nice too, tried that with the aosp browser and it forced closed so I grabbed a browser from a gnex cm10 ROM applied the 300 layout settings and it worked, so basically turning the aosp browser and chrome to phone format in pa looks nice and seems to work a bit smoother imo

Really liking Xscope the more I use it. Auto wraps text well, is fast, many ui options, accepts file links from sd card, high quality flash. When I hit my browser link and my home page opens, this is what I see (an exported html file on my sd card, exported from my pc browser):

I think Chrome is quite stable, at least on Nexus 7. I only wish they added a feature to hide the status bar and the URL bar, then it would be close to perfect.

"perfect" if it supported flash :crying:

Current BEST underrated apps for Galaxy Nexus?

Apps that are essentials or must-have that are under the radar. Apps that would not be under this category are ones like gmail, titanium backup, ect.
Titanium Backup... J/k of course.

RealSilent is my pick.
It simply silences your media volume when your phone's ringer is in silent mode. No more opening up apps and having them make noise when your phone is supposed to be silent. I choose to have the phone still play media when the phone is in "vibrate" mode, however, so I can turn put my phone in silent and listen to music/podcasts without being interrupted by notifications.

Didn't see either of those in the market.
Reddionic, new reddit app that beats otherp opular apps
Angel Browser is excellent. Highly configurable, save/restore bookmarks, proxy settings, sane interface.
Logging Test App is great for finding and eliminating adware and loggers like carrier iq, etc.
Display Tester is a perfect for checking out your screen, finding best gamma settings, etc.

N.memo is an extremely underrated and very handy notification memo app. Simple and efficient.

ClipBird lets you easily pass clipboard information from your phone to your desktop(s) and back. Extremely handy once you get it set up.

I also really enjoy AntTek File Explorer with the Holo light theme. Full featured and getting better every day.

Wi-Fi Web Login is a paid app but extremely handy if your campus/workplace/favorite coffee shop has Wi-Fi requiring you to login/accept a EULA.

I'm also a big fan of MemoPad, which is simple but does exactly what it should.

And of course.. Notification Toggle, Prefixer and BetterBatteryStats, but everybody already knows about those, right?
Screeble! has been a staple for my last three phones.

Anyone have the jelly bean stock browser?

Google Chrome kinda lags for me. I have tried looking for the stock browser apk but with no luck. I would really appreciate if someone would upload the apk for me. Thanks

That sucks, I think chrome is amazing, a lot smoother then all the browsers I've used on my android devices, mainly HTC browser and ICS stock browser
But yes you need root to place the apk with the system apps

I have to agree. I like the chrome browser even with the occasional flicker that I get.
By stock browser, I mean the stock browser used in Galaxy Nexus and CM10 builds. For Chrome, I always get these lags when typing on the address bar for both my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 devices. I'm not sure if it's because of my Swiftkey 3 is not playing nice with Chrome, but it certainly works pretty well with the Stock Browser.
If anyone has the jelly bean stock browser apk, i would greatly appreciate it if you could upload it. Thanks

Here is a link to the stock browser
http://db.tt/wzqKpNrU
Directions to install are as follows for those of you not familiar.
Use Root Explorer and copy the Browser.apk from your downloads folder and navigate to the /system/app
Folder and mount the system by tapping the (Mount R/W) button
Then paste the apk,Now you need to set permissions to look like this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Next you need to find the browserproviderproxy.apk and browserproviderproxy.odex If your system has not been deodexed and rename them to browserproviderproxy1.apk and browserproviderproxy1.odex
If you don't do this last step the browser will force close.
Now reboot
Success
Note: You must be rooted (If you hadn't already figured this out)
And I would suggest having your Nexus 7 plugged in via USB and do the reboot using adb commands
That can be done by opening CMD and running the command
adb devices
adb reboot
I finally found the original thread and it can be found below, All thanks should be given the that OP

I've gotten so used to Chrome on the N7 that I hate using the stock browser on my Galaxy nexus. CM10 roms come prebuilt with the Browser app and I hated even getting the option which one to use.
However Facebook did complain about chrome not supporting picture uploads? I had to use the Browser app for that. This was on my phone btw that had both installed. Perhaps Chrome was missing something by default.
I just like the tabs being right there.

I prefer the stock browser over Chrome because Flash can be used, and prefer it over Dolphin because I have gotten so used to pinch-to-zoom, and Dolphin doesn't have that. So I was dismayed when stock browser was missing in Jelly Bean 4.1.2. Found the apk and added it back in. Works a treat.

What browser do you guys use for Note 2

What is the best browser for speed? Ive been using the stock browser and recently started using dolphin. Is the stock browser on the note 2 chrome?
Thanks
I the stock browser is a chromium browser. I it's based of off chrome with Google's blessing but it doesn't have all the features...
I like chrome for it's speed, intuitiveness and html5 (flash apps) abilities. it's what I use now
I like dolphin better for it's flawless use of flash and html5 but lately it's laggy and it's not very intuituve: double tapping a picture will zoom in a standard amount instead of fitting the image to the screen like all the other browsers do... and it has a hard time resizing text.
I liked firefox better than chrome for it's intuitiveness and speed however it sucks at flash and html5 in fact I couldn't watch videos in 9gag.com no matter how much I tried. it also had no way of changing what the start screen is so if you visit a lot of "private" sites they would be right there in your browser's home screen because you go to them often.
so chrome is a happy medium of less speed than firefox but better than dolphin, less intuitive than firefox but better than dolphin, less flash/html5 capabilities than dolphin but better than firefox and with not much difference to dolphin.
opera is just stuck in the past... don't think they ever got the memo that the whole internet was switching to html5...
all the other browsers are just garbage in my opinion
hope this helps

You may want to add some consideration for privacy. Not only is spying an invasion of privacy but it wastes bandwidth, CPU, and battery power. Three ways to judge privacy:
1) the permissions requested by the app
2) the privacy policy of the app, if any
3) the analysis of the app from http://mobilesandbox.org/

[List] Must Have Nexus 7 Apps

I plan on transferring all of my apps and games over to my Nexus 7 with Paranoid Android ROM installed via Titanium Backup minus the Samsung only stuff in the coming days... figured I'd post this to give other people ideas about what to install on their amazing new devices since it can be time-consuming to search and navigate the market sometimes if you are new to the Android scene. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Here are some screenshots of my Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone as of 08.12.13. Four Apex Launcher Pro homescreens running in CleanROM V5.0 with Perseus Kernel V36.3... The screenshots include my most used and favorite apps somewhat sorted by category... have around 220 apps installed after months of stability and battery testing, but have narrowed it down to the best to be displayed on the 196 available spots due to the custom 7x7 grid... check it out if you need some new Android apps!

Might as well scrap screencast, while your at it. It wont work on the N7. Not compatible with Tegra 2/3 devices.
