Gentlemen...all of a sudden, this gadget is taking 10 times more time to charge. Till 3 days ago...it was getting full charged within a couple of hours from 0-100%
All of a sudden, it's like 6 effing minutes for 1%....whats wrong? Have tried removing nd re inserting battery/tried charging from various plugs-sockets...:banghead:

If Your phone is running battery intensive apps its gunna take longer to charge. For instance...if I'm running navigation with music and the screen is on high brightness I will still LOSE power while I'm charging on my trucks USB.

Something wrong with your charger. Try another charger, if it charges ok with another charger then obviously your charger is at fault. Get a replacement from Samsung.
Thanks mate..will try that

Make sure you use the charger provided. The note 2 uses 2mA. Most phones use 1mA.

That would be 2 A and 1 A, not mA!!

Make sure you are using the same cable as provided. One time I changed to a different and longer cable and it took forever to charge.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
+1, the longer cable also not able to withstand charge while using the phone...

Hi, I have read here that some are doing this. What would be the effect of this on the battery life, as it usually takes only about 3 hours to charge to full. Thanks
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
There's no effect, it's fine. The phone knows when to stop charging.
agreed - I've been doing this with my phone every night since the G1 days with no problems
:good:
No overheating or whatever? Okay thanks. Nice to know that.

the charging micro will turn off supply to the battery when it is 'charged' so nothing to worry about at all
Yeah when the phone gets to 100% it will disconnect until 98% then start charging again.

Unlike me, the phone knows when it's had enough!

I think this is a base android feature, even my TF101 tablet does this when it's on the dock. It'll discharge until about 96% then start re-charging.
My charger makes some horrible noises. I've had to resort to buying another one made for an s3 that charges slower when I don't need to charge it quickly.
Does this happen to yours? If not how can I send it back or request a new one from Samsung?

I was just about to search for this and came across this post, my Note 2 charger seems to make the same noises but only when the phone is plugged in & I THINK it stops when it’s finished charging, strange...
I could probably live with it but my main concern is the safety of it, I would also like to know if this is normal.
Anybody else??
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
I went to the samsung support page and contacted them. Within a couple of days they asked for my IMIE, date of purchase etc and say they sending me a new one.
I find it tends to make the noise as its either fully charged or almost charged
Thanks, I just sent them an email and I hope they do the same for me and the plug functions normally!
I've had to resort to charging my phone with a 1A charger I bought off amazon for the s3. Takes 4 hours to charge but I use it most often since I'd rather have the slower charge than the irritating whining noise.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Yep mine does this as well. Annoying

Same here, must be the 2A going through it.
Sent from my GT-N7105T
Mine has it. I just ignore it and now I dont even notice it anymore and the plug is about 1.5m from my head when I sleep.

Ipad 4 charger is 2A.
Sadly somebody owns one of those horrid things in my house
And the charger doesn't make any noise. Might be Samsung cutting costs or faulty first batch plugs?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
No freakish noises here.
Its silent .
Very small zizzling sound while charging. Doesnt affect me anyways
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
The younger you are, the more irritating the sound can be.

Nope It's true. Try a frequencies app, you'll see that some sounds actually are only heard by younger age groups. As you get older you tend to loose the ability to hear higher frequency sounds.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Jep mine as well! Annoying whirring electro sound.. but only when disconnected from the phone, so no use to keep the charger in imo
Mine has this problem. Does anyone reading this with a Note II not? For me, it seems to get louder the closer the phone is to 100% charged, still makes the noise on 100% charge.
I phoned up Samsung and they said they're sending me out a new charger, so I'll report back when I find out if it makes the noise.

Hi..i see that my note 2 is to hot on upside on
display when i recharge it.
Some one else have the same issue?
I use a car recharge because i'm always on the truck...battery monitor don't see any problem..
What to do?is dangerous for my note?must stop recharge? I used about 2 times every day for full recharge and in this time i use internet.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Is it Chinese?
Is it from a trusted company?
Did you noticed any battery drain or lesser battery life or longer charging time with normal charger?
Possibilities are the car charger isn't optimal for your phone.
Buy from a known store or a Samsung dealer or some other trusted or reputed store.

It's samsung...i used before for my galaxy s player.also galaxy charging curent show me 1698 with 1800 1800 wich is perfect,no?it takes about 2 hours i think to recharge...i don't know what to do because i need it...my invertor 12v-220 v is broken so i can't use wall charger.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Try the charger with some other phone.
You really need to charge it with a wall charger or pc to property diagnose the cause.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Hmm i'm almost sure now that is because of perseus kernel.

Install "Battery widget Reborn!" or any other app that has such feature - and tell us how many degrees does the battery heat up to. If it's over 40-50 celsius, there's definitely something wrong with it.
A friend of mine told me that his Note 2 GT N7100 is charging from 20% to loo % in only one hour.
the Battery usage is Normal as it withstand 10 hours with heavy usage.
He bought it a month ago.
Is this normal or he should go back to the reseller?
He is using original charger by the way.
thanks for your help.

Firstly install Galaxy Current widget and check the current that is getting transferred how much Volts, Make sure you try this with the Wall out let as well as USB from your pc and make a note of it and let XDA know here and we will suggest if there is any problem or not.
also mention if its complete Stock or Rooted and What Mods are implemented ?
Ok I'll do this first and let u know.
Thanks a lot.

i have to charge my note2 for 4 - 5 hours.
Is it normal? i want to charge faster. What should i do?´
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Average normal charging time from 0 to 100percent is 2hours, regardless of the rom, from an AC wall charger. And about 4hours from a USB connected to the computer. 1hour is very unusual, I would suggest doing a full system wipe and reinstall the rom. If the charger is delivering above normal current then it may damage the battery in the long run.

I've been having issues the last few days charging my Sprint Galaxy s3. When plugged in, the phone will recognized that it should be charging, but the battery will not charge. When turned off and plugged in, it charges very slowly, maybe 1 percent every half an hour. I've tried many different USB cables, but that does not seem to be the issue as the same cables charged my Nexus 7 just fine. I had the battery tested at the sprint store, and they told me that it was fine. Anybody have some insight to help me out?

Sorry for not being clear, but I meant to say I had to get my phone replaced. The sprint tech people tried fixing it but their fix only worked for a day.
