Hi guys wondering if anyone knows a good ROM for HTC desire but without needing to ext3/4 my SD card as I only have 2 gb and don't want to be spending money to buy a new one just for a ROM.

Oxygen. It's tiny, plenty of room for apps.

moving hboot is fine if you plan to continue to use your phone that way going forward. My experience is that most of the more recent rom releases start with stock hboot so if you can fit your apps into a standard install of oxygen it will be easier when you get a better SD card. By the way, just bought a class 10 16gb card for less than 10 euro.
Is there any chance I could just partition my SD card by like 500mb for an ics ROM like slim ics?

Partition with 4 ext recovery or gparted, like you have been told in the thread you started on this topic.
What I meant was would 500mb suffice instead of 1 gb? For that ROM?

Save up and buy a bigger sd card. With apps getting bigger and bigger these days you'll need that ext partition eventually.
via xda app
Yea yea I know!!!! I think I will just wait.

If it isn't rooted, then your warranty should be intact, so why don't you send it to HTC Care? They should fix it in no time

Your carrier should provide you a replacement. If you want to fix it yourself, root and follow the guide, but if it turns out to be a hardware fault, you will have to pay for repairs, cause your warranty will be gone when you root it.

You can not root on-device with HBOOT >= 0.7x. And yes, I am ninety nine ****ing percent sure it's NOT usb-brick.

So?

So you could get it repaired at HTC Care in less time you spent trying not to.

If you HAD root before usb bricked, panicked and went back to stock, there is a chance to solve this without servicing the phone.
Just browse my threads, there is a one starting with "Any chance...". I can't seem to grasp how to link with this app
However if usb stopped working on an unrooted stock rom, chances are this is not an usb brick, and you will need to service the phone anyway.
Just be careful, read everything before attempting, and mind that there are different Desire models.
Good luck

Well there is no ready solution, but you can get temp root access without any problems, and hboot has nothing to do with that (just the Linux kernel version).
Contrary to popular belief the exploit needed to get root access just relies on enabled usb debug and not actually having the phone connected to a pc via usb.

How'd you do this? I'm in the same boat!
Hi,
I flashed cm9 alpha 3, and now I have a problem. I don't know if it's a ROM bug.
When I listen music, it starts all normal, but then suddenly it goes like this: laaalaaalalalalaaa T T T T R R R lalaalalaaaa. Better said: Some kind of bad dubstep explosion true my music.
When I was on stock ROM, I didn't had this problem. I think it is caused by my data2sd.
Any help? Or return to stock ROM?

maybe a lack of ram / too many background processes?
or bad kernel clock values? which sd class are you using?
I think class 10 is the best for using data2sd

And have you tried other music apps? Like n7player, doubletwist, Google music etc? I don't think it is anything to do with the sd card
I am using interactive data2sd on an sd card with the same specs as yours and Apollo works quite well.

Yeah, I know. If I get an iPod, my phone is only worth whatsapping, tweeting and texting. And, I get a second phone soon, an alacatel. yeah.
Samsung launched a Wifi-only version of the Galaxy S, it seemed to be a pretty good alternative to iPods, the main advantage being the MicroSD slot.

i had installed app2sd.
i it is useless for me.
i have 64 gb class 10 sandisk card
it says to me there is no real primary source of memory or my memory source is emulated. hence it is unable to move any app to sd card.
really bad.
Thats what I said. It's not there in the current firmware. Do you think we can get this in a future firmware upgrade or it it a Jelly Bean thing?
If you are rooted you can use Directorybind. Not an option if you are not rooted tho
If you are interested in it you can search xda for it.

Hi i have 2 sdcards one 16GB class 4 and one 64GB class 10. When i use the 64GB sdcard to install roms, it always shows installation aborted. I am only able to install roms using my 16Gb sdcard.
1) Is this a bug in the rom?
2) And anyways to solve this problem?
You should give a little more info. Which ROM? What model of note 2? What are the classes of the sd cards?
It will help the more experienced members answer your question.

I have tried installing many different roms but all showed the same result. GT-N7105.
Hey all, im wondering how much internal space users have after doing a fresh install of the pac rom (or any AOSP rom) available for the n5110. I have around 9gb after clean install and im wondering if it should be more considering its a 16gb model.. Any idea what's going on there?
Thanks
