Do you think we will get the App 2 SD in a future firmware upgrade?
Do you think that's possible?

i had installed app2sd.
i it is useless for me.
i have 64 gb class 10 sandisk card
it says to me there is no real primary source of memory or my memory source is emulated. hence it is unable to move any app to sd card.
really bad.

Thats what I said. It's not there in the current firmware. Do you think we can get this in a future firmware upgrade or it it a Jelly Bean thing?

If you are rooted you can use Directorybind. Not an option if you are not rooted tho
If you are interested in it you can search xda for it.

is 11.9 gigs total right on the 16gb t-999

I have the white 16gb S3. When i check how much room I have left it says 5.3gb of 11.9gb total. I understand that crapware and the rom itself take up room, but surely not 4gb. I have used the pit file to try and restore my partition but to no avail. I am running a custom rom with minimal bloat. just curious if these numbers are correct or if i am screwed? Also just noticed that the file system says generic hierarchical. That doesnt sound right??? Can I format it from my cpu, or will that make it where I cant even get into download mode to odin???
Mine shows 12.05 available.......

I have plenty of storage, not the issue.
.15 gb is a big deal if I have a partition error. For some reason I am not able to flash most Roms, so I was just trying to see what everybody had and ask a couple more questions.
Yup add me to the 12.05gb

OP if you're rooted you can use this app to utilize your micro sd card space rather than your internal. I use it for apps with large data like games. Also make sure you have your camera set to save to sd card rather than internal.

Do you think it might be related to what this is about?

He cant flash cm10 and other roms. Tried to help him out but I think hes still looking for a solution. Or at least the root cause. You mentioned partitions which is where he started and seeing that your total useable space is a little off from everyone else's it reminded me of his problem a bit.
Sorry if im way off here!

Yes, this is a thread I have been following. If you pull up your phone as a drive on your cpu, what does it say you have for memory? 11.9? and does it say it is formatted as a generic hiericachal?

Best ROM for HTC desire WITHOUT EXT OF SD CARD

Hi guys wondering if anyone knows a good ROM for HTC desire but without needing to ext3/4 my SD card as I only have 2 gb and don't want to be spending money to buy a new one just for a ROM.

Oxygen. It's tiny, plenty of room for apps.

+1
moving hboot is fine if you plan to continue to use your phone that way going forward. My experience is that most of the more recent rom releases start with stock hboot so if you can fit your apps into a standard install of oxygen it will be easier when you get a better SD card. By the way, just bought a class 10 16gb card for less than 10 euro.
Is there any chance I could just partition my SD card by like 500mb for an ics ROM like slim ics?

Partition with 4 ext recovery or gparted, like you have been told in the thread you started on this topic.
What I meant was would 500mb suffice instead of 1 gb? For that ROM?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Save up and buy a bigger sd card. With apps getting bigger and bigger these days you'll need that ext partition eventually.
via xda app
Yea yea I know!!!! I think I will just wait.

Install ROM since external storage doesnt exist?HELP!

Aight. All of you know by now that you SD card can't be used to hold apps. When I run CWR I also have the issue of not being able to mount my SD card. Is that because of the way this phone is built or do I just need to format to FAT? If it won't mount will it be safe to save my ROM to regular storage and install that way? And if anyone has a tutorial link to installing Chrygen10?(mispell) ? To this specific phone that would also be awesome. I'm kinda new to the whole ROM deal and I'm new to LG phones and thus far its taken some adjusting going from Nexus and Galaxy phones to this OGP. Thanks in advance for any help I may receive.

OK so your external card needs to be fat32, you can put the rom on your internal and flash it that way, but just make sure you don't wipe you're internal sd card because the room file will get erased.
As for Cyanogen 10, there's a ROM in the development section that you can use. I use it as a DD and it runs great.

Thanks man. I really appreciate it.

what's a DD BTW?
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk 4
And also what are the positives and negatives to using Cyanogen? I have honestly just seen the name over and over. I know it helps with over clocking and stuff but that's about all I'm aware of.

Cyanogen is one of the ways we can get pure AOSP experience on our phones. No manufacturer bloat, no Carrier bloat, just pure AOSP. Positives for me is that my phone is a lot smoother once it's fully up and running with Cyanogen, and theming. I like switching themes on a regular basis. Disadvantages would be that sometimes not everything works the same as it did on stock rom so you have to choose what's most important to you.
DD= Daily Driver, a rom you can use everyday even with the flaws it may have.
Gotcha. Appreciate it man.

SD card issues

Hi i have 2 sdcards one 16GB class 4 and one 64GB class 10. When i use the 64GB sdcard to install roms, it always shows installation aborted. I am only able to install roms using my 16Gb sdcard.
1) Is this a bug in the rom?
2) And anyways to solve this problem?
You should give a little more info. Which ROM? What model of note 2? What are the classes of the sd cards?
It will help the more experienced members answer your question.
