Hi all,
About 2 weeks ago I installed CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC2 marvel/marvelc ALPHA7 onto my HTC wildfire s.
Everything was working great, for 2 weeks untill last night. Battery almost empty and unresponsive. So I decided to check it this morning.
WFs is now off, and won't boot. Battery still almost empty and won't charge.
If I disconnect and reconnect battery, plug in charger, sometimes it starts up, but hangs at green HTC logo. When I leave it connected to
charger it bootloops, otherwise it shuts down again.
I can get into servicemode (vol down/power). Can choose factory reset or recovery, but then it restarts and again hangs at htc logo.
When in service mode, I can install recovery rom via USB, but again it restarts and hangs again at htc logo.
When charger is plugged in, I never get the orange 'charging' led or green led. Only sometimes a very faint red led.
Plse help!
Thomas.
You can buy a cheap Chinese battery charger( u know the one with which u charge your battery directly by placing the battery aligned to its terminals) and charge your battery. After which u can try booting again. Its also kinda weird because all of sudden CWM recovery won't work for u.
Don't worry keep charging for 1-2hrs.
Without interruption..so that you will surely get orange charging light..

Was able to charge the battery fully using external charger.
Still same situation!
When charged phone to charger : faint red led. Keeps hanging at HTC logo.
Take it to a service center act dumb don't tell them anything that you did if your'e lucky they might sort you out..
Or buy a new battery available on eBay... there's a thread in accessories section...

Take it for repair and act extra+ stupid, but make sure it's believable.
Better try with a new battery.. If the problem persists go to service Centre.
Try reflashing the recovery...

That is not bricked at all. Just go into fast boot mode and flash recovery from PC

I dont think that'll help him due to the fact his battery is dead and cant turn the phone on.
Connect the phone to the charger with the battery out, then put the battery in but once it contacts the leads in the phone make sure it doesnt fall out or loose contact (so put the battery cover back on). It should now charge (DONT press the power button!) leave it for about an hour before turning it on.
As JSL says, try to leave it on charge for like a hour, then try to turn it on.
hi sorry for the delayed replies by me...i tried everything nothing works ,,,took out the battery nothing happens charged it overnight and still nothing,,,is there a way to flash the phone so it will start working,,,The phone doesnt go into the bootloader so how can i install a rom,,plz plz help me...
Have you got a spare battery you can try to make sure there is no fault with the phone?
Ricey
did you get work it? I have same problem
I had something similar with a HTC Magic. It was so drained that the led would not lit when connected. I left it charging for some hours and the led came back to life and then I was able to charge it completely.
Two opinions:
- battery damaged.
- phone damaged.
You should buy a new battery. I had same problem...

If you flatten the battery too much it will die.

any way to charge a phone once completely dead
as the title states, once in the bootloop issue if your battery ends up at 0% and can't be charged is there a way out of this. Here is my issue. I can't get into recovery. Hboot or fastboot are the only options available. Sometimes it boots into the ROM but instantly dies once restarting. No clue as to the trigger as I've tried pretty much all the combinations of factory reset, reboot-bootloader, erase cache etc etc etc trying to get this into a non on mode so it can charge.
In addition to this of course anytime I plug the phone in it automatically turns on in either bootloader or fastboot which gives it no opportunity to charge at all otherwise I would simply run the RUU which won't let me until it hits 30%. I've more or less come to the conclusion I have to send it in because its not quite the same situation that others have experienced. But was hoping to get an answer/fix so I don't have to send it in to HTC to get repaired since the RMA guys just told me it'll be 10 business days before they even get in parts to the texas facility to get it sent there for repairs.
also of note, I had managed to relock the bootloader but can't get enough juice to run the RUU
What about borrowing a battery or getting one and charging it. That would be better than sending it in.

With the current recovery. The phone can't charge while off. You can't let it die
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
yeah so far I've tried literally everything out there. I almost need a way to figure out how to wipe the rom so it can't restart and sit on the loading screen so it can charge, but so far no luck with anything in the forum. I've literally tried it all.
Could be worse, my replacement comes today (but cost the same sadly, looks like the gf will get a new one when I can send it out to htc for repairs and get it back)
So, when you plug the charger in, the phone starts up into hboot or something? And can you not press and hold power for 10 secs to force it to power off while still plugged in? My phone was charging while it was completely off. That's after I discharged it completely, it shut itself off.
any time I plug it in it automatically turns back on. If I hold down the power button for 10 seconds it simply reboots.

By either plugging in every time it stops charging or rebooting it like that you should be able to gradually charge it over 30%, that's what I heard. So it's not as easy as plug in and wait, but rather plug in, unplug, plug back in.
I have this same issue. Arent their any recoveries that charge while in recovery mode??
Yes.. The stock recovery. You need to flash that.
again, can't flash diddly because of low battery. So flashing stock recovery does nothing as it would end in an error.
Very possible solution! Worked for me!
It seems my reply via the XDA-App did not come through.. As I wanted to reply.
My H0X was also dead. Wouldn't charge nor boot, with wall charger or by pc.. but I thought.. well let's give it a chance by using my iPhone 4 charger (with HTC cable of course)
Guess what: It worked!
SO TO ALL WHO IS HAVING THIS 'WILL NOT CHARGE' PROBLEM:
Try an other charger, even try your wireless mouse, or other phone chargers.. Anything!

you don't think something silly like this idea has been done? When the phone is plugged into any outside source of charge, it turns on in bootloader. This does not charge it...
Get into fastboot and try charge ..same happened to me when I tried to install Mike's Rom. So what I ended up doing was after trying a millions things to get a little charge so I could flash stock recovery and relock bootloader. I turn phone off. Plug charge for 2 seconds unplug. Plug again unplug. Big pain in the ass. Don't let charger to long cause it boots phone againg. So usually u see led turn on then few seconds later it goes off that's when u have to unplug charger. Do that again a few times. Enough to get a little charge again to flash stock recover. Once u flash stock recover phone charges normally. You also need the correct RUU for ur phone. That's after flashing stock recovery then relock bootloader then flash ruu. Then u can try again a custom Rom or whatever u were doing

sadly I've tried many many many times now to do anything with it to get even a little juice but no luck. Just going to send it in at this point ..... =/
I faced your situation once
get into the bootloader and flash back the official recovery
The phone does not work, tried warranty but it does not cover because of a few minor scratches, it won't boot at all, tried recovery mode but when its almost opening it shuts down again, it vibrates while off like if it was turning on every 2 seconds, tried download mode neither does this work... it has the stock rom it came with, is there anything i can do? Thanks in advance for any piece of help that's given

For anyone, when your phone vibrates every 2 seconds while off and connected to a power source, unplug it, replug it and DON'T DO ANYTHING! Wait for the battery to charge up and it will boot itself.
SGS2 Dead - Vibrates only

I have a Galaxy S II (I727) that is just vibrating (after it dropped from a desk to the floor). I can see a hairline crack in the glass at the top right corner if you hold it at the right angle. Though the buttons all still click, it doesn't respond to any combination of buttons. The battery is fully charged and tested on a voltmeter. Connected to a power source with the battery out, it still just vibrates every second or two. The only way to stop the vibrating is pull the battery. It's out of warranty, so I'm up for trying anything. Help?
hello all,
I read many posts over this and other forums and it seams this device is so advanced that thay were not supposed to put it to market jet - too many faults.
I had my screen relpaced and when I got phone back it was DEAD.
Figured out battery was completely empty.
Tried many chargers and cables to make sure it is not problem in them but notking
Last night noticed that when connected to charger after 10 seconds charging indicator and light sensor give one red blink and that is it !
Enyone has any idea how to get battery to charge?
OR just buy new battery and install it - dont know if ney ones are empty too?

Leave it on charger for a day, stop playing with it.

I am having big problems with my HTC One X..it all started when I updated my phone to jellybean..I normally put my phone to charge when the battery is about on 20%..I put my phone on charging and give it atleast 2,3 continuous hours to charge itself..now when I disconnect it from charging, it shows the battery still at 20%..I discussed this problem once before on this page and someone suggested me to do a soft restart by holding down the power button for about 5 seconds..I do that and then my phone restarts and shows the correct level of battery at 80% or more..this problem has been continuously happening to me from some time now and I have made a habit of myself to charge my phone for 3 hours and then perform a soft restart in order to see the correct battery level..Today I have charged my phone for 4 hours and have performed soft restarts on my device as well but it showed my batter level still at yellow and while on charging, I unlocked the screen and a message came up "your phone is using more current than your charger is able to deliver. Please turn off the unused applications or power off your phone during charging". I opened task manager, closed all applications and put it on charge again but again I got the same message so I turned off my phone and let it charge for 2 hours..then when I started my set, it showed the battery level at 3% and then restarted unexpectedly..since then I have been trying to restart my phone but it is not even starting itself and shuts down after showing the white HTC logo screen.. anybody explain my problems with HTC One X and I hope somebody can help me..Please tell me what to do..I am not sure whether this started happening after I updated to 4.2.2 sense5 or is there some problem with my charger..I do use original charger and USB cable so I am not sure what the problem is here..please help My phone CID: HTC_Y13
Maybe you messed up your charging cable or smithing idk never happens to me......O the problem is... ITS A HTC ONE lol.
