HTC One X - Dead, not charging ! - HTC One X

hello all,
I read many posts over this and other forums and it seams this device is so advanced that thay were not supposed to put it to market jet - too many faults.
I had my screen relpaced and when I got phone back it was DEAD.
Figured out battery was completely empty.
Tried many chargers and cables to make sure it is not problem in them but notking
Last night noticed that when connected to charger after 10 seconds charging indicator and light sensor give one red blink and that is it !
Enyone has any idea how to get battery to charge?
OR just buy new battery and install it - dont know if ney ones are empty too?
Tnx

Leave it on charger for a day, stop playing with it.

Bummer

Had the screen replaced by who?

power off phone put in the charger leave it overnight

Was on charger for over 28 hours - and nothing.
Still when connected to charger blinks ones and that is it.
It does not get warm at all when connected to charger meaning - no charge....

I'll go with new battery and if that fails it's going to ebay....

Taking it to repair shop to see what they will say.
Mabe it is battery and they can solve it
If not selling it for parts

Maybe whoever replaced the screen didnt connect something backup again inside, I would take a look if I was you.

I did, all looks conected.
Did not want to mess much with it.
It does give one red flash when connected to charger...

[Q]About BATTERY

Alright well I was using mobile hotspot and had my phone in charging and the about a hr later my phone shut off. I was wtf so I truer turning my phone on and it wouldn't come on so I plug it back on the charger then tryed turning it on .
Well it booted to the white HTC splash screen then look like it was changing to the boot screen but the screen just stayed black and a light flashed Orange (have no clue what it means flashing Orange ). Well it took me like 10 trys of pulling battery and putting in charger and it finally booted all the way up .
Once it was booted it said it was charging so I though ok must be a fluke of my luck . So I went to serf something on my phone (mobile hotspot was turned off ). And like 15 mins in after getting it to boot it shutdown again and did the same thing .
So I was what the hell is going on , so I took the battery out waited 1 hr before plugging it back in tryed booting just by battery and nothing so I plug in the charger and it booted . And so its charging. I downloaded a battery monitor and checked it . It said the battery was good and charging(USB). It is at 20% after a hour of charging . But the monitor says 6hrs30mins till completely charged .
My question is did I kill my battery for good well damged it or was it just acting crazy cause it got a really low or hot . Also why is it taking so long to charge now and what does the flashing Orange light mean when it was off . Also shouldn't it say charging. (A/C)
Thanks I tryed searching for this no luck.

Flashing orange light when off and plugged in means its charging but there isn't enough power to boot up yet...in my opinion there is only 3 things it could be...Charging port which if u wanna try ur hand at soldering u might be able to fix it, your battery which is a possibility or your acctual charger itself. Sometimes when the charging ports/ cord start to go out it will say USB charging instead of ac charging I've seen it before. Hope I've helped.

@pfcland, put your battery in the freezer for about 45 min then put it on the charger and let it carge up for a while before booting, make sure the light goes solid orange for atleast an hour.

The flashing orange light means your battery is too dead to turn your phone on. Charge it up for awhile and it should turn on.

If your charging Mah jumps back up to the proper amperage when it is "charging AC" then u know it is your port. When it displays USB Charging I believe it will only charge up to 500 Mah.

DInc2 Not Charging?

I've been having trouble with my Inc2 as of yesterday.
I plugged it into the charger and the orange light will turn on but it keeps losing power. I don't know how to fix this. I turned it off and left it to charge a bit then turned my phone back on to see that it still lost power.
Last night it died because I was no where near a charger and then the orange light was just flashing and it took no charge. After a while if messing with the phone it had finally turned a solid orange and charged up to about 40% before it stopped charging and losing power.
As of right now it's at about 10% and still plugged into the wall charger. I have yet to try a USB charger.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Your charge port may be loose. I have to plug my phone in at the right angle to get any charge.

Are you sure? I opened the battery section in Settings and it says it's charging. The orange light is on and everything but it's losing power.
Just had my wife's replaced for the same exact issue! Says it's charging but really isn't. Trying connecting it to your computer and see if it is recognized, that's how I verified the micro usb port was not working correctly.

Just plugged it into the computer and it worked fine. Was able to turn on the USB storage and everything.
I turned off my phone pulled the battery and then put it back and let it sit in the charger and it to to 40 percent before I nudged it and then the battery percentage started to drop again even though its still plugged in and the charge light is on as well.
Anyone else got some suggestions or help?

Edit: After doing a bunch of searching on the VZW forums, Incredible forums, HTC and many others. I have come to the conclusion that my phone might be out of commission now. This sucks
You can try another battery. I found a new HTC battery on eBay for $12.95 shipped. Certainly worth a try for a small investment.
You need to do a warranty replacement or purchase a new usb charging port online and install on your own. It will probably easier to get a warranty replacement though. My nephew had the same problem, its a bad usb port.
I am having the same problem. After going to a few different forums it seems that the charging port has an issue, like a previous post said get a warranty replacement if you can. I bought mine off of eBay so I cannot get that but I did find a source for a new charging port for a decent price. The video shows it to be pretty easy to replace. For the time being I was able to buy a wireless charging pad and back on clearance at the local VZW store. I hope HTC has a better port on the next generation of devices.
I had this problem. I got a warranty replacement and it works awesome. I would give it a whirl.

HTC One X not charging?

My HTC One X isn't charging, the red flashing light flashes red and green when i plug it in and continues to do that. Can anyone help me?
try volume and power and see if it resets it,
if not then you have a faulty battery or connection or something, return and replace

Mine just did that then. I have been using it while charging though and it's gotten quite hot. I suspect it's an overheating warning for me at least.

I've only gotten it to do it once. Was using the phone quite heavily. Perhaps more moderate use would not make it overheat during charge at least.
Mines charging fine now that I'm not hammering it..
The only way is to wait until it cool down, or use it on a cool room

Seriously? Is this supposed to be constructive?
Help a guy out, say you have the same issues or feel for the guy.
But what do yo mean with volume and power?
Do you mean go into recovery and delete batterystats?
I am probably gonna return my HOX.
I also have major screen flickering issues.
HTC have also said that there have been manufacturing faults
It's an HTC overheat warning - holding the power button whilst plugged in & selecting reboot should stop the flashing lights, then allow it to cool down for just a few minutes.
I've seen this, only when doing multiple benching.

Since you said that the phone meet the floor I can guess that may be a hardware fault. If with the phone off you connect to the charger an no reacction, you only can chek for another charger. Its OK if you use almost any usb charger, but the minimal power of the charger (see the label on the charger) need to be 750 mah, and the recommended is 1 A. (always at 5v). I use a asus nexus 7 charger witch is 2A, so I can handle charge and power consumption. Anyway. If your phone is not charging and you tried at least 3 chargers and 2 cables its time to open the phone. There is a guide on youtube (sorry I cant search for it right now), that show you how to open the HTC One X, so you can check the battery connection to the phone. Trty to disconnect and connect it again, and without reassemble the phone connect carefully to the charger and see what happen. If not charging and assuming that you dont have where to carry the phone, I would try to charge the battery pack outside the phone (3.7v Li battery charger) and then put it again on the phone and see what happen. I'm like 70/30 % that is the connector (30% that some on the mainboard broken)
Hope I help you
Since long time I had a problem with charging. I had it on charger and didn't charge. It said that I use more power than charger can give me. It was the same when the fine was off some times. It looks like charging but after some hours power was complete down. Be four some days it switched of batter and never opened again. Neither charging. I tried before some months and changed the battery but still had the problems. I tried yesterday to change again the battery and put the old one that had some power to take my files from mobile. I tried to put it to charger and the light goes green and red and don't charging. The fine has no power no and it's close again

Brand New One X - Dead?

Yeh looks that way so that means no new phone for a week as I have to wait for them to collect it then send me a new one, can't just take it to a store which is stupid
Checked the pogo pins with a volt meter and it's reading 5v no problem so power is getting to the phone it just seems dead. No battery life and it won't turn on

Charger that came with it but checked dock pins to make sure voltage is present in the phone which it clearly is
Does sound dead sadly, should have some charge if it came new.
Does it get detected as anything by windows even if off?
Any repsonse if you hold down the power button and both volume buttons?
Mine did the same thing when it was fresh out the box. I just left it on sharge for a couple of hours and the charge light then lit and it powered up. The battery was just very flat on arrival.
Did your battery warm up though? This ones cold to the touch
I think it's dead so already called for a replacement but gotta wait for it
In the meantime I will leave it to charge overnight but I'm not hopeful at all, be better if we could access the battery instead of HTC going all apple on us
As I got my hox, it was fully discharged too, and it took ca. 30 minutes to bring it back to life...

When I first got mine was at 15% battery, after 24hrs charging (original charger, laptop, Inc s charger...) nothing changed.
Ended up with a replacement but took optus Australia 3 weeks to replace it.
...
Try to change cable I have to do that because stock cable that came with phone is sh..t.One day just stop working. Now using NOKIA CA-101 and no problem at all fantastic build quality. With stock cable had that problem couple times
Even if it does not light right up, the battery should get warmer when charging. Like advised, try a different cable, if that does not work either, then there probably is no simple solution that you can solve on your own.

[Q] Led flashing and green. Unable to charge phone. Help!

As my HOX was charging, via a USB cable to plug, the screen started flickering slightly and the phone shut itself down. The phone was 10% charged. Now when I try to charge it the LED flashes red and green and doesn't seem to charge. I've read that this could be due to overheating so I left my phone untouched for a couple of hours but it's still flashing red and green/green. Something feels seriously wrong.
Is there something I can do to fix this?
When the problem started the phone was quite warm but nowhere near as hot as it has been, and I wasn't using it that much.
The only thing different today was that I was using a plug that I don't normally use, the cable I have used before.
Any ideas?
How much does a battery replacement cost?
Thanks
Chris

Don't you have the charger and cable it came with? Try another charger that can supply at least 1 amp and try a different cable.
The only time I've had this is when it's overheated.

Charged to 28% but then shut down after light usage
Ok I've managed to get it charging up to 28%. Then I stopped charging it and started using it to do some light Internet browsing, but after about 15 minutes it suddenly shut itself down even though it wasn't hot and had plenty of battery. What's going on?
You might have damaged the battery using a non standard plug. It might be more than the phone can handle

I always had the impression that the USB plugs were all standardised and acted the same?
Can charge it to 60% but turns off after heavy usage
OK I've managed to get this battery to charge up to 60%. It won't go any higher than that. I was using today quite heavily for about 30 minutes and it got quite hot and turned itself off.
Will replacing the battery sort this problem out or is there something else wrong?
Thanks
Chris
I'd be surprised if it was the battery, I'd try a factory reset, anb if that doesn't work, an RUU.
