[Q] Charging Problems with HTC One X Phone - HTC One X

I am having big problems with my HTC One X..it all started when I updated my phone to jellybean..I normally put my phone to charge when the battery is about on 20%..I put my phone on charging and give it atleast 2,3 continuous hours to charge itself..now when I disconnect it from charging, it shows the battery still at 20%..I discussed this problem once before on this page and someone suggested me to do a soft restart by holding down the power button for about 5 seconds..I do that and then my phone restarts and shows the correct level of battery at 80% or more..this problem has been continuously happening to me from some time now and I have made a habit of myself to charge my phone for 3 hours and then perform a soft restart in order to see the correct battery level..Today I have charged my phone for 4 hours and have performed soft restarts on my device as well but it showed my batter level still at yellow and while on charging, I unlocked the screen and a message came up "your phone is using more current than your charger is able to deliver. Please turn off the unused applications or power off your phone during charging". I opened task manager, closed all applications and put it on charge again but again I got the same message so I turned off my phone and let it charge for 2 hours..then when I started my set, it showed the battery level at 3% and then restarted unexpectedly..since then I have been trying to restart my phone but it is not even starting itself and shuts down after showing the white HTC logo screen.. anybody explain my problems with HTC One X and I hope somebody can help me..Please tell me what to do..I am not sure whether this started happening after I updated to 4.2.2 sense5 or is there some problem with my charger..I do use original charger and USB cable so I am not sure what the problem is here..please help My phone CID: HTC_Y13

Maybe you messed up your charging cable or smithing idk never happens to me......O the problem is... ITS A HTC ONE lol.

I dont think that'll help him due to the fact his battery is dead and cant turn the phone on.
Connect the phone to the charger with the battery out, then put the battery in but once it contacts the leads in the phone make sure it doesnt fall out or loose contact (so put the battery cover back on). It should now charge (DONT press the power button!) leave it for about an hour before turning it on.
As JSL says, try to leave it on charge for like a hour, then try to turn it on.
hi sorry for the delayed replies by me...i tried everything nothing works ,,,took out the battery nothing happens charged it overnight and still nothing,,,is there a way to flash the phone so it will start working,,,The phone doesnt go into the bootloader so how can i install a rom,,plz plz help me...
Have you got a spare battery you can try to make sure there is no fault with the phone?
Ricey
did you get work it? I have same problem
I had something similar with a HTC Magic. It was so drained that the led would not lit when connected. I left it charging for some hours and the led came back to life and then I was able to charge it completely.
Two opinions:
- battery damaged.
- phone damaged.
You should buy a new battery. I had same problem...

HTC One X not charging?

My HTC One X isn't charging, the red flashing light flashes red and green when i plug it in and continues to do that. Can anyone help me?
try volume and power and see if it resets it,
if not then you have a faulty battery or connection or something, return and replace

Mine just did that then. I have been using it while charging though and it's gotten quite hot. I suspect it's an overheating warning for me at least.

I've only gotten it to do it once. Was using the phone quite heavily. Perhaps more moderate use would not make it overheat during charge at least.
Mines charging fine now that I'm not hammering it..
The only way is to wait until it cool down, or use it on a cool room

Seriously? Is this supposed to be constructive?
Help a guy out, say you have the same issues or feel for the guy.
But what do yo mean with volume and power?
Do you mean go into recovery and delete batterystats?
I am probably gonna return my HOX.
I also have major screen flickering issues.
HTC have also said that there have been manufacturing faults
It's an HTC overheat warning - holding the power button whilst plugged in & selecting reboot should stop the flashing lights, then allow it to cool down for just a few minutes.
I've seen this, only when doing multiple benching.

Since you said that the phone meet the floor I can guess that may be a hardware fault. If with the phone off you connect to the charger an no reacction, you only can chek for another charger. Its OK if you use almost any usb charger, but the minimal power of the charger (see the label on the charger) need to be 750 mah, and the recommended is 1 A. (always at 5v). I use a asus nexus 7 charger witch is 2A, so I can handle charge and power consumption. Anyway. If your phone is not charging and you tried at least 3 chargers and 2 cables its time to open the phone. There is a guide on youtube (sorry I cant search for it right now), that show you how to open the HTC One X, so you can check the battery connection to the phone. Trty to disconnect and connect it again, and without reassemble the phone connect carefully to the charger and see what happen. If not charging and assuming that you dont have where to carry the phone, I would try to charge the battery pack outside the phone (3.7v Li battery charger) and then put it again on the phone and see what happen. I'm like 70/30 % that is the connector (30% that some on the mainboard broken)
Hope I help you
Since long time I had a problem with charging. I had it on charger and didn't charge. It said that I use more power than charger can give me. It was the same when the fine was off some times. It looks like charging but after some hours power was complete down. Be four some days it switched of batter and never opened again. Neither charging. I tried before some months and changed the battery but still had the problems. I tried yesterday to change again the battery and put the old one that had some power to take my files from mobile. I tried to put it to charger and the light goes green and red and don't charging. The fine has no power no and it's close again

[Q] charging?

i have noticed twice in the last week that when i take my phone off charge in the morning it has been dead... like it was never charging. is this a faulty device or is it common for everyone
doesn't sound right. check whats eating up the battery at night, might be a dodgy app but sounds like a dodgy battery
Sometimes if it's using a lot of power it will be drawing more than the charger gives and still use up the battery. Make sure there aren't any programs running or large amounts of data being transferred on data networks.
It's really bad to run the battery all the way down. If you can't figure out what it is, it may be worth sending it in for service/replacement.
That happens to me with bricked kernel, are u using it?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Id suspect faulty usb/ charger if they move ever so slightly on worn bad cords itl drop charge even tho it was chsrging when u set it down for the night
I know.i have about 5 extra chargers two of them do this everytime
Suspect a charger before u suspect a 600$ phone

okay, i have an update.. this is freaking weird. i have a video and picture of this for proof. the phone was sitting on my desk with the screen off unplugged from the charger.. and then the screen and charging light come on, followed by a beep, and sure enough the charging animation was there... but the phone wasnt plugged in.. i started playing with it and a message popped up saying the phone is using more power than the charger can discharge... 'BUT YOUR NOT PLUGGED IN' :S
i will take it back tomorrow and try for my 5th faultless phone :S sigh*
Has anyone else had an issue like the following
1. phone is off (0%)
2. Plugin charger
3. Red light activates (charging while off)
4. Random amount of time passes eg. 30 mins phone boots up by itself
???
Can anyone explain?
is the phone faulty or charger maybe the cause?

Your not really supposed to run the battery down to zero. It could be designed to boot automatically if the battery had been below a certain amount and it turned off due to that... Not that i have anything to back that theory up...

A Possible cause could be damaged usb port (charging port). Get it to service center.

anyone else have it?

[Q] HTC One M8 Not turning on with battery

Hi,
I tried to search the forum but couldn't get mine working.
I got HTC One M8 partially dead from my friend, so that I can check it. TWRP recovery is installed. HTC Boot logo show " This build is for development purpose only..."
Now I have three different genuine chargers with me. One from HTC One M8, another from HTC ONE Max and third is from HTC Evo 3D. If I plug the charger in computer to get it detected and then try some adb cmd on it. It will just keep restarting after showing first boot logo. Then when I put it to its own wall charger it get on and the TWRP recovery screen appears for 1 sec and then the battery information that it is charging. few seconds later TWRP recovery screen just appear again for 1 sec and goes away while the phone is yet charging.
The battery charging information shows that is phone is charging up and the LED is stable. I let it charge over night and was 100% in the morning. As soon as I removed the wall charger. The phone went off. I tried to power it on but it didn't. I put the phone again to charge with wall charger but it again started from 1%. The phone goes off as soon as I remove it from wall charger and then start charging again from 1% if I put it back.
It is not water damaged, neither it has been hit hard, nor dissembled.
What I have tried it to get into hboot by holding POWER+Vol Down. Also Tried POWER+Vol up for 10-20 sec. I also tried to go through Battery calibration by holding VOL Down+VOL UP and Power for 2min+. Phone doesn't show any life if I try it on battery, not even vibration. Only on wall charger it start doing it regular procedure as said above.
Now the question is if it charging the Battery at all? Because I don't feel the phone heating up a bit while charging. Or is it some other problem?!
Thanks
Any help?

Sounds like it's not really charging, probably a hardware problem. Any way you can return it under warranty?

HELP... Ran my M9 dead now it will not charge or power back up

ok guys i got a hopefully a small problem.. i was watching YouTube and the battery was red alert low then it powers off so i plug it in and about 15 mins later i went to power it back on and it gets to the Leedroid boot animation and powers back off so i tried again and this time it displays the battery %0 and turns back off. this is the first time that i have had this problem.. hope its like its not recognizing the charger someone can give me some help .please
M9 Developer Edition
S-Off
running LeeDroid R26
latest firmware 617.15 Devloper
Leave it plugged in overnight with the charger that came with the phone. I've seen this sort of thing happen with HTC phones in the past, and this will usually solve it.
Sometimes when you run it down to 0%, it can take a while before the phone will power on again. This might be a safety feature to prevent damage to the battery that can result from completely draining it (which normally will not happen, as the phone will shut down when it gets to "true" 1% instead of what Android is displaying as the battery charge).
Thanks bro that worked thanks for your advice
