[Q] Is Samsung Apps (app) preloaded on the US models? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know that they usually don't include that in us model phones, but it would be a shame because I'm seeing a lot of the apps just attach to things like Samsung Keyboard and extend functionality, or be customized for S Pen. Can someone chime in?

Samsung Apps

hmmm i wonder why samsung didnĀ“t let us to have full access to Samsung Apps....i find it is cool to have 2 markets to all samsung android users especially the Galaxy S...sometimes i find Samsung Apps quite cool and of course it is an advantege for use to make us special than other android user...o yeahhh...btw it is just my thought!!! feel free to share your opinions...maybe if lots of us agree with me...sooner or later we can make Samsung give us full access to their Market!!!!
if u are talking about samsung kies.. yes i agree with you. i would totaly like to install apps from samsung kies app store.. find it more easy to use and so many cool apps.! sometimes i wonder why other samsung phones like samsung wave benefith of this. when SGS I9000 its a better -phone .
Because the Galaxy S is an Android phone, it can't run apps made for other types of phones. Samsung Apps is for Bada (Eg: Wave) and other Samsung phones.
Android has far more apps for it than those other phones anyway.

Why some apps doesn't work on WFS?

Hi,
Can someone explain me why some apps (e.g. Songpop) doesn't work on WFS although they work on other HVGA devices (like optimus one)?
And if there's something to do about it..
Thanks!
Android has a very vast ecosystem which includes a plethora of different devices with different specs or small changes within similar specs......this makes app development a little hard and since the developer does not have all the phones in the world......some phones remain untested
It might be possible that due to some internal or coding reasons, some apps do not work on our WFS
This can be resolved either by contacting the respective developer and wait for a bug fix or try using it on different roms
Some apps require full floating point support, which is something you would get with armv7. Sometimes its about the resolution or dpi. Our phone is very underpowered, and it wasn't exactly bleeding edge on release. It was cheaper for HTC to release a budget phone with last gen tech.

[Q] Stock Android + S-pen ROM for Gnote 3?

I may be way out of line here and if so I apologize - however coming from the Galaxy Nexus to the Galaxy Note 3 I'm mostly pretty happy except with certain aspects of Samsungs software stupidity that I can't seem to get rid of. I've been using the GEL and its amazing but I want to get back to "stock android" as much as possible. This means getting rid of the assnine Gingerbread-era settings menus, dialers, people app and other apps that look like they were plucked from my Droid X from 3 years ago.
Am I being unreasonable when I look at the available ROM's on the T-mo section and see that there aren't any kitkat ROMs available yet? Is there a development hurdle for the Galaxy devices that makes it impossible to make a AOSP-based ROM? (As if it needs to be said, I'm not a developer).
I love the hardware and the S-pen functionality (why I bought it), but I need to rid myself of the 90's era UI that samsung has foisted on us. Am I missing a ROM out there that can fulfill my needs?
I don't think there is anything aosp that can offer what tw had to offer when it comes to s pen functionality.
I had the note 2 before this and was running paranoid ROM which didn't have the cool s pen features.
What I've used the most is the pen window feature. Taking a quick note or using the calc has been handy.

We all feel your pain brother.
I have owned 3 Samsung Galaxy devices before this one and all have had AOSP/AOKP/CM10.2
For some reason or another, a developer not made a bare bone AOSP rom.
Which we all want.
Believe me when I say, we all know touchwiz is getting annoying.
My current setup is Stock Deodexed Debloated with the AOSP theme found in the "Themes and Apps" section, also with the Kit Kat Launcher.
I downloaded all of the Nexus 5 apps (Calendar, Camera, Gallery, Clock, etc. And deleted the Touchwiz ones.
This is as close as we can get for now .

I had this thought, regarding a ROM

I dont know how requested it would be, or even possible it would be.
But ive been thinking... i am using the samsung captivate glide, on touchwiz....... my freind has the samsung galaxy S4 mini, on a newer version of android on touchwiz..... the screens are about the same size
I was curious at how possible it would be to kind of mesh the 2 and create a touchwiz based rom for us captivate glide users, based on the 4.2.2 (or maybe even newer than that i just read that thats what they come shipped with) that the S4 mini comes with, but the touchwiz version?
(i know there are touchwiz themes, but those dont change the notification drawer, which i HATE the look of on stock android... plus the separate home and lockscreen wallpapers, the sounds.... i love all the touchwiz based features).
i dont really *need* a new version of android.... i was just wondering, for in the future, if that would be possible at all. hmm....

i think you Wrong topic here...
ok, your mean is you want port android from other device for us?
this is not posible from S4mini. becous our chipset of phone is Tergra2. and changing binary to binary is very deficult
It is hard to port manufacturer skinned ROMs, let alone porting when you don't have official 4.2 as a base.
Just let the Glide rest in peace, Tegra 2 can't handle much more.

Best custom ROM for my sister's A50

Hello!
My sister would like to have a stable, no thrills, custom ROM. Also a suitable Gcam mod with that.
She is accustomed to ONE UI and all that is Samsung, however, she would like get rid of bloatware in order to save space and resources.
She uses Google apps, of course, but perhaps also some Samsung apps, like S Health.
I can program it for her, I think. I have reprogrammed several Samsung devices before, albeit a few years ago.
Please advise me what to choose. It's a SM-A505FN/DS.
Thanks!
