Hello, i'm new here. Sorry for noob question, i use v6 supercharge to this rom for better management ram. But, when i play temple run its very lag. Before i use v6 the game is still smooth, but when i run of a lot app its bit laggy and free ram is very low. I know its risk if i use ics. But, is there any script to manage the ram and its compatible with paranoid rom?
Sorry*again* for my bad english. i hope @doomsday94 see this

physical ram or vitual ram (on Swap Partition).
I use GB 2.3.4 with Arconium 8.2 and Doom kernel and when i force stop apps that i dont use i get 240-250 mb free ram after fresh restart without restart i get 200 mb.

Arconium gb with 160 mb ram free
stock ics with 95MB free
Sorry , my typo
It should be which ROM
Sent from my LT18 using xda app-developers app
stock ics .587, cleaned by me, +70 apps,
With working Nova launcher, Swype keyboard, fancy widgets, fb + messenger and mail synchro -> 100MB free
Without fb and messenger - about 150MB.
So I don't need more, and I don't get that pointless fight for "free RAM"

I use Rom Acorium 8.2, When I reboot phone, It have 220mb ram free.
Hi,
My old phone was Sony Xperia Neo V and it had 512MB of RAM, in that I used to run MIUI and I, user was able to use ~320 MB of RAM out of 512MB rest was hidden by OS for it's own use. My current phone is Sony Xperia S which has 1GB of RAM and I can see 636MB for my use. This indicates that Android keep for itlself ~40% of total RAM. I feel reserving 40% of RAM is wastage as I was running the same ICS based MIUI on my previous Xperia Neo V in which Android reserved ~200MB of RAM and it used to work pretty smooth. So, my question is how can I change the % of default RAM reserved by Android so that I can save my 200MB of RAM in my current Xperia S, as I believe 200MB of RAM would be sufficient for smooth running of my Xperia S as it was running in Neo V.
Thanks
Are you running an official/unofficial version of CM?
Settings>Performance>Memory management>Check Allow purging of assets, Kernel same page merging and set zRam to the max percentage. That should free quite a bit of RAM.

I'm running MIUI 2.11.5, I've nowhere seen such an option in it....

If it's based on MIUIAndroid Xperia S ROM (which is stock Sony ICS patched) then chances are that the only way you will get more RAM is using a init.d tweak or RAM manager app to change the RAM management/allocation...
I would suggest supercharging the ROM, search for it

did you manage to get an answer?
i think sony always reserve some of the ram, i can see other manufacturers don't and they are better with multitasking, is there a solution to make use of all the ram that we buy???

Sorry, that was stupid joke. It is normal that your wifes XS shows only 685 RAM, system takes the rest of 1GB.
GPU - 200mb
hardware - 139mb
user/system -685
There are ways to increase but its realy complicated (pro dev level)

RAM in the roms is not so important. It's multitasking what does the job. Currently im using letema's 4.3 and multitasking is incredible. No lags at all despite (more or less) 670mb of user-availible ram and, belive me, i have many apps installed on my phone. But still im waiting for another version of KitKat from Rayman. People say that (even though there is 620mb user availible ram) it's smooth as hell. So yeah, RAM is not so important. And it's not only me who says that. The devs think the same

there is nothing to hog ram with AOSP and CM
AOSP will allways be more ram - multitask freindly then CM10+
and finaly official GB will allways be the best for multitasking then anything else ever made for our XS
(with a non modded system and no root)
Gingerbread 80mb used/605 free. after heavy use for 3 days)

i agree 100%, what i ment is that ram usage may be more efficient even if there is actually less user-availible RAM
BTW: you were supposed to built your own 4.4 rom, isn't that right? how do the things look like right now?

Hi excuse me, I tweaked my own custom ROM. After I reboot, I got low amount of free RAM 63 MB. When I tried to kill service apps, low again 50 MB. What should I do ?
Sent by my SMART XPERIA ROM
That is because you in your rom want only beautiful UI all mods all themes all in 1 rom!
and they take up ram!
remove some things and see the rom go up
or try to add some ram management tweaks..
Supercharge it
Its complete new handling of RAM

Try with deleting apps that are known to eat RAM, then start tweaking. It will help you a lot.

Hey guys i have some problems with games on my current rom (such as clash of clans which is vital for me). I think they are related to ram (always under 100mb free ).
Which rom can you recommend me with low ram usage ??
Thanks you in advance
