Srericson BusyBox
This will allow you to uninstall existing busybox install, and then install latest bb version.....I think now V 1.20.1
It is an Installer, as Busybox is GNU Public License s/w maintained by Denys Vlasenko....
For BusyBox info see http://busybox.net

It makes the phone run faster and smoother by adjusting the Low Memory Killer values. So it keeps a minimum amount of free memory so that the current activity will be smooth and lag free. In my case I've also removed a lot of bloatware(all Samsung hubs, etc) to free up the memory and together with the V6 script my stock ROM runs very smooth. This is the main thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
PS: I advise you choose the suggested minfree values using the built in super minfree calculator. These are working nicely for me.

is it like the RAM Manger PRO? can switch to balance to gaming to multitasking by adjusting the free memory? so you aren't experiencing any lag even once?

Never used RAM Manager so can't say much about it. The lag will never be 100% gone purely because this is android and it's memory management is designed to work in a way that results in some amount of lag. But I must say it is almost lag free. Very good.

Hi,
My old phone was Sony Xperia Neo V and it had 512MB of RAM, in that I used to run MIUI and I, user was able to use ~320 MB of RAM out of 512MB rest was hidden by OS for it's own use. My current phone is Sony Xperia S which has 1GB of RAM and I can see 636MB for my use. This indicates that Android keep for itlself ~40% of total RAM. I feel reserving 40% of RAM is wastage as I was running the same ICS based MIUI on my previous Xperia Neo V in which Android reserved ~200MB of RAM and it used to work pretty smooth. So, my question is how can I change the % of default RAM reserved by Android so that I can save my 200MB of RAM in my current Xperia S, as I believe 200MB of RAM would be sufficient for smooth running of my Xperia S as it was running in Neo V.
Thanks
Are you running an official/unofficial version of CM?
Settings>Performance>Memory management>Check Allow purging of assets, Kernel same page merging and set zRam to the max percentage. That should free quite a bit of RAM.

If it's based on MIUIAndroid Xperia S ROM (which is stock Sony ICS patched) then chances are that the only way you will get more RAM is using a init.d tweak or RAM manager app to change the RAM management/allocation...
I would suggest supercharging the ROM, search for it

Sorry, that was stupid joke. It is normal that your wifes XS shows only 685 RAM, system takes the rest of 1GB.
GPU - 200mb
hardware - 139mb
user/system -685
There are ways to increase but its realy complicated (pro dev level)

RAM in the roms is not so important. It's multitasking what does the job. Currently im using letema's 4.3 and multitasking is incredible. No lags at all despite (more or less) 670mb of user-availible ram and, belive me, i have many apps installed on my phone. But still im waiting for another version of KitKat from Rayman. People say that (even though there is 620mb user availible ram) it's smooth as hell. So yeah, RAM is not so important. And it's not only me who says that. The devs think the same

there is nothing to hog ram with AOSP and CM
AOSP will allways be more ram - multitask freindly then CM10+
and finaly official GB will allways be the best for multitasking then anything else ever made for our XS
(with a non modded system and no root)
Gingerbread 80mb used/605 free. after heavy use for 3 days)

i agree 100%, what i ment is that ram usage may be more efficient even if there is actually less user-availible RAM
BTW: you were supposed to built your own 4.4 rom, isn't that right? how do the things look like right now?

Well that's a lot to improve yet, but keep it up, thanks for the status update fingers crossed for you!
After using my new ace 2 for only a few days, it is already beginning to feel sluggish and slow.. Not in framerate, but the snappiness and responsiveness of the phone. For example, when i click on an icon or app, instead of instantly lauching and executing the app or function, my phone would lag, or wait and the app only starts a couple of seconds later.
Does anyone have the same experience or do you guys know what is happening to my phone? Any ideas to overcome this..
Side note: i do not have much apps, only facebook dragonvale templerun 2 and whatsapp

Delete apks with the odexs too.
You should see what's running on the background and eating too much RAM. Then delete it.

I had the same problem - even things like gallery and Opera Mini were laggy.
Temple Run 2 was a nightmare- I had to restart.
I found that disabling all animations changed performance immensely.
So, try Settings->Developer Options->

Best solution
try backup and uninstall bloatware and unneeded services with titanium backup.. after that, download greenify, seeder and ram manager pro..
Lags depends on rom u r using i think, the smoothest rom based on stock for now is Kyrillos.
This bind should kill rest of the lags: kyrillos + d-kernel + greenify + setcpu (ondemand + sio).

It has all my needed tweaks installed rather than using Simplistic Framework.
You have the option of removing bloatware. You can also use ROM Cleaner which I like. It gives thst extra clean.
I get a usual 6-8 hours paired with Perseus Kernel.

How much RAM is free on boot with this rom?
The stock rom leaves me about 980MB of free ram on boot!
Is ROM Cleaner an app or flashable script?
